I'm sorry but the book left alot of unfinished business and questions and did not satisfy my appetite, it was a bit jumpy, ok I get it was time travel...but...tuere was no cohesion between the time jumping it never gives a reason why she was chosen or an outcome that gives a hint as to her purpose.kinda like when you tell a child a bedtime story and just make stuff up for no reason.and it's not the unfinished of a second book coming it was the unfinished of a person who was just done writing!

Really good book to read with lots of detail about life for the poor and the better off in the 18th century and present day. Fascinating concept around time travel.

Really good debut novel! Really kept my interest throughout with all the different issues arising in the different times. Really clever twist at the very end (in the afterword). Not my usual genre buy I really enjoyed it! Look forward to more from this author!

3.0 out of 5 stars Too disjointed!

I love time travel books - I've read some good and some bad. I've given this book 3 stars because I can't know if it becomes good later on as I didn't get further than 20%. But if it remains this disjointed, continues to flip from first person to third, and the writing doesn't improve, then my 3 stars are generous.
