"If anything in my life is worth fighting for, it’s her." If you are a HUGE FAN of the ‘Mavericks Tackle Love’ series by the wonderful ladies of Max Monroe, than you gotta know how absolutely ECSTATIC I was to have my hands on Cam Mitchell’s story! I mean, it’s Cam FREAKING Michell, people! I’m swooning all over the damn place here! Trick Play had all of the ingredients that make up a fantastic Romantic Comedy! It also had Max Monroe’s stamp ALL OVER IT! Sexy, hilarious, witty, emotional, and completely unforgettable, my heart definitely went through the ringer with this one. It was a fast-paced, absolutely PAGE-TURNER of a romantic read and I NEVER wanted it to end. Cam and ‘Trixie’ were freaking ADORABLE together. Cam is EVERYTHING you thought he would be and more! When he sets his heart on something, it will take God himself, to pull his focus. And Trixie? Well, there is so much more to that woman, you don’t even know. The sexual tension goes up higher with every turn of the page and when these two kids finally break down each other’s walls, your heart will EXPLODE with happiness! There will be some deception, there will be heartbreak, but the romance is definitely ALIVE with this one, folks! I can’t wait for fans of the series to get their hands on Trick Play! His best friend Quinn, a teammate, is getting married in a week, and tonight the guys are celebrating his bachelor party at a strip club called Skinns. While his teammates are getting lap dances in their VIP section, Cam notices a gorgeous woman dancing on the stage that he can’t stop watching. Approaching their section, Cam offers her a lot of money just so she can sit down and talk to him. Due to the rules the girls have to follow, the only way she can spend time with customers is thru a lap dance. All he wants is her name, and Cam knows that it’s not Trixie, but that’s the only name she’ll provide. When a drunk customer grabs her, Cam throws him a punch after yelling at him. Well that landed him in jail for the night. Spending the night in the drunk-tank has got to be a new low for him. The thing is, Cam can’t stop thinking about her and wondering what would be the reason she needs that job. But appearances are not always what they seem. Cam keeps showing up at Skinns trying to convince her to go out with him and provide him with her real name.
    Lana can’t believe she just told Cam her real name. That was the stupidest thing she’s ever done. For Gods sake she’s an undercover detective working as a stripper trying to catch a drug ring. If anyone found out at the club, her cover would be blown. Well at least all Cam knows is her first name, what could go wrong.
    Kudos to Max Monroe for another awesome book. This duo have become one of the best romance writers of our time. Love how they tell a story.

    I enjoyed this book but other than the first and last scenes of the book, the humor was missing. I guess the references to Knotting Hill and Dirty Dancing was ok. I almost wished it had a scene where Cam was introduced to the family after they got back together. An epilogue 2 years later at least did give a little round up.

Cam is enjoying a night out for his teammate, Quinn’s bachelor party and sees a dancer that he just can’t look away from. There is just something different about this one and he is on a mission to talk to her. Trixie is a new-ish dancer and she is drawn to Cam right away but knows she needs to stay away from him. She has secrets that she is keeping and can’t tell Cam about. Cam finally gets her real name out of her, Lana, and he thinks if he doesn’t push her too hard or fast that eventually she will trust him enough with what she is holding back. But of course there are reasons to her keeping her secrets and eventually they blow up and she has to break up with Cam. These two can’t stay away from each other even though it takes longer for reality to set in for them. Cam gives her space and it is up to Lana to bridge the divide she created.
    I loved this book from the beginning! It is becoming difficult to pick my favorite Maverick, each book I read I fall in love all over again. It was great seeing Quinn, Sean, Six and Teeny and meeting the new guy Leo. Cam and Lana were perfect for each other and I am sooo happy they were able to get past the secrets and be together.

    This is my fav of the series so far, as Lana is a confident career woman - police
    woman, that is, tough and capable. While she is under cover she meets Cam during Quinn’s bachelor party. Lots of complications, and trying to resist Cam was on top of the list. He is persistent, but she tries to step away for his sake as well as that of the operation. Family members step in, and manage to help give Lana a hand and a choice. Ended all too soon!

    Lana Simone is an undercover detective posting as Trixie, a stripper at a strip club in NJ. Trixie/Lana meets Cam Mitchell at the club for Quinn Bailey's bachelor party (the hero from Book 1 Wildcat). Cam is mesmerized by Trixie's looks but is a gentleman at heart and steps in when he notices a patron get to handsy with her. A quick punch lands him in the drunk tank overnight with stars in his eyes for stripper Trixie. I loved Cam. He's a great hero and an all around great guy.

    He's such a gentleman and I like that Trixie's job doesn't deter him from pursuing her. It took me a bit to like Trixie/Lana. I just felt like Cam was the one really carrying the book with his personality. I know hers was reserved because she was battling with her alias Trixie and her real persona of Detective Lana and her feelings for Cam.

    I'm not a huge fan of insulated romances where the book is essentially the hero and heroine and I feel like a lot of this book is just that. There are some scenes with his teammates from the other books in the series and some of her family but considering the nature of the story, I feel like more was needed and could have really pushed this book over the edge into AMAZINGNESS. Maybe even Trixie/Lana not being so reserved could have helped. I liked it a lot but I didn't love it. I felt like Cam gave his all and 100% and Lana gave maybe 75% of herself.

    I give it 4 out of 5 stars because I just wanted more of their careers.

    I love reading football romances. I'm a football fan and while I don't want the sport to take over the book, I enjoy the sport being a feature. A few trips to the locker room aren't enough for me. I like the after game press conferences, sideline conversations and inside intel, practices, etc.

    Lana's undercover work is interesting and I just wanted more research on it and more details rather than a few snippets of her going to the station turning in files. Her whole family is in police work yet it's a very small feature. I also wanted a bit more estrogen. I like that Lana is a guy's girl and has a huge support system of men, but she needed a friend other than fake friend strippers. She's emotionally stunted no having a mother her whole like and with the death of her aunt she's just drifting in a way.

    I just wanted more of their jobs. But considering that this book is one in a series, it's a good one to pick up! I've read Book 1 Wildcat (see my review! it's AMAZING) and now this one Book 3. So far, I'm really digging the NY Maverick series. I just can't get into Book 2 with the character names. But 2 out of 4 books being good to great is amazing. I'm impressed. Perhaps having 2 authors is a good thing. Someone to balance out the nonsense and make the book truly a great read.

Cam becomes captivated by Trixie during Quinn’s bachelor party at the strip club, and is soon obsessing over her and trying to pry details about who she is and her real name. Of course, Trixie is hiding her own secrets, and things get complicated in a hurry - how long can she keep her secrets when Cam is relentless in his pursuit of her....and she’s feeling drawn to him too. Max and Monroe have delivered again, and I’m excited to see how book 4 in this series goes, since we got to meet the rookie who will feature in book 4 (4th and Goal) in Cam’s story!

    Trick Play is the third novel in the Mavericks Tackle Love series. This story follows Cam, the Mavericks tight end, as he falls for a women he probably shouldn't, Lana. This duo is probably one of my favourites. Lana's family cracked me up through most of the book and I loved seeing what Sean and Quinn are up to! In my opinion, this is another amazing book by author duo Max Monroe! Bring on more Mavericks!
