After many years of one’s true love lost with lots going on in between these two come face to face again when others get busy trying to reunite their children for one last chance at the one who got away. A lot can happen in 10 years but true love only gets stronger. Beau walked away from his true love for her own good but now he is back coming face to face and he isn’t about to let her go this time. Mandy moved to Paris to get over Beau only to return home making a new life for her and her son. Coming face to face with Beau bends her heart leaving not only her but her son madly in love with him.

This really was a very touching read with wonderful characters you can relate to. I love second chance love stories. Sometimes they do come true. What is better or maybe worse than two mothers getting together to bring their children back for another shot at love. I loved these two women and the love they have for their children. I loved the plot how it was laid out, the chemistry between the main characters and the love they lost being reborn. The pull is strong but can they make it work this time around.

This was really very well written with wonderful characters and a heartwarming plot that I got lost in. I really enjoy Ms. Collins writing talents she has a way of bring the characters to life giving them meaning that really touches you heart.

    3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story. I liked Beau, Mandy and Tommy and liked their story. It was a nice reunion/holiday story.

Mandy is a chef that lives in New York and has a 6 year old son. Mandy learned to be a chef in Europe and met Tommy's father but he wasn't up for being a dad so she decided to raise him alone. Mandy's heart has always belonged to her first love that broke her heart so she's never gotten involved with anyone else.

Beau is a musician and the lead singer in a popular band. Beau is a good guy and doesn't really like the lifestyle and demand of the fans but he loves the music so he plays the part. But Beau's always loved the girl he left behind and every song he's written has been about her.

Mandy and Beau were childhood sweethearts and planned to be together forever. But Beau was a year older than Mandy and left to make music with the promise that she'd join him as soon as she graduated from High School. That never happened...for reasons that are best left to be discovered in the story. When the story begins, both Mandy and Beau's mothers have managed to convince them (separately) to come home for Christmas.

Beau and Mandy both try to push back on their mother's conniving but when they see each other, it changes everything. Old feelings come back and their separation takes on new meaning after 10 years of being apart. Beau is all for embracing their feelings and trying again but Mandy is more reluctant, especially when it comes to trusting Beau with her feelings and her son. But Beau and Tommy get along great and that takes away at least some of Mandy's excuse to push Beau away. Thankfully, it doesn't take too long before Beau convinces her to take a chance on them. There is a bit of drama at the end that almost messes up their reunion and to be honest, I wasn't thrilled with that part and probably would have rated the story better without that drama. It's not that I can't deal with drama...I just didn't think this was done well and it brought the story down for me. But it all does get worked out in the end and Beau, Mandy and Tommy become and family and Beau & Mandy finally get their HEA.

This was an enjoyable story. Mandy was a pretty good heroine. I liked her very much but there were a few points when her actions just seemed wrong (especially towards the end) and didn't work for me but I still liked her overall. Tommy was a good kid character and added beneficially to the story. Beau was a very good hero and I really liked him. As I mentioned, the end drama didn't work for me but outside of that, I did find the story to an enjoyable reunion/holiday romance. :)

A lighthearted second chances romance, The Trouble With Tinsel pushes all the knobs for a great story. When two mothers get together with the desire to see their children happy, they use all the manipulative skills they have honed as mothers over the decades. Their endeavours are successful and Beau and Mandy find themselves back in Bell Mountain for Christmas. When there is a deep well of hurt in both hearts, the initial meeting was bound to be uncomfortable. Despite Mandy's resolve never to get caught again by Beau's sweet words, she didn't take her son Tommy into account. Tommy takes to Beau and all bets are off. With the whole town rooting for them, Beau and Mandy find themselves under the spotlight, and it's not a comfortable place to be. I loved the wit and humour in the story as well as the pathos as memories are relived and rehashed. The characters in this story are all delightful and I especially enjoyed Misty's recounting of her failed marriage. A thoroughly enjoyable read with a feel-good ending.

A Christmas story about second chance with love “The Trouble with Tinsel” by Kelly Collin. I enjoyed reading this book which was first time at reading anything by this author.

What happens when misunderstandings can change one’s life?

Ten years ago two young loves were separated with one following their dreams and another one letting go for their soulmate to follow their dreams. Mandy left home with a broken heart and went to culinary school in Europe. There she met another man who could not commit. She and her son live in New York where she is working but when her mom had an accident brings them back to Bell Mountain to help the family business. She never wanted to see the man who never came back for her years earlier but it appears others have their own agendas.

Beau Tinsel left but had every intention of coming back for the love of his life when we pursued his dream of making it big in the music industry. When his mother told him years earlier that Mandy left and was pregnant, Beau thought she was married and was living her HEA. Now that he is home because of his mother’s fake accident and determine to get things rectified with the only woman who holds his heart.

Faith has a way of bring two souls together during the holiday season……will these two loves find their HEA……must read.

All in all, I like the story. Mandy got on my nerves sometimes, especially when she made the decision to stay in Bell Mountain. In essence making the decision for Beau.

Two meddling mothers, a gorgeous 6 year old boy, Christmas magic and the scene is set for high school sweethearts to reunite and have a second chance at love.

Beau Tinsel and Mandy Sawyer have never stopped loving each other but because of a decision Beau made they have been apart for many years. Mandy and her 6 year old return to help her mother out in her sweet shop over Christmas and Beau also is called home by his mother

The star is Tommy in my mind who as children are wont to do often says things that all are thinking but no-one will voice.

A lovely touching romance and well worth the read.

romance sympa entre une star de la musique et son premier amour. Ils se sont séparés jeunes et se retrouvent 10 ans plus tard, toujours amoureux l'un de l'autre. Ça fait penser un peu à un Harlequin, sympa mais pas mémorable.

This book put me through an emotional ringer. Thank heavens there's a lot of laughs in here too, otherwise the drama could be a bit over the top. Childhood sweethearts get a second chance at forever, and oh my gosh, these two are just adorable together. Add Mandy's precocious six-year-old son and a pair of opinionated, meddling grandmas into the mix and you almost have sugar shock. I hope there are more stories coming from Bell Mountain because I've fallen a little bit in love with the kooky townsfolk and I want to see several of them get their happily-ever-afters too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.
