    I have to give it up to Eden Connor, she is amazing at story telling! After I read Gas or Ass, I just had to buy this book to see what happens next! This story starts with a grown up saucy Shelby, whose ready to give a speech to her stepfather and get revenge on her step brothers in the process. But of course Shelby manages to get herself caught up into some trouble that forces her to work together with her step brothers and figure out what really happened in Gas or Ass.

    Now I have to say that this book keeps you on your toes. All the plot twist and turns were awesome. And not to mention the sex! I was not expecting the sex scenes that I got. SPOILER START I don't usually read f/f, but that was an awesomely written scene. And the m/m and pegging scene? Amazing SPOILER END. However, there are fewer of them than Gas or Ass, and to me they weren't as hot. Like I don't want to get to personal, but they just didn't make me squeeze my thighs together like Gas or Ass did if you know what I mean. I don't know why weren't as stimulating, but trust me, it doesn't mean the sex scenes weren't hot!

    However, when I was done reading this book I realized that there was just something that was bugging me. And its the relationship between Shelby and the other characters. Quite frankly, it kind of pissed me off and its the reason I rated this a four instead of five stars:

    (SPOILERS!!!!)

    Before I start my rant, I just want to say that I know Caine and Colt have bonded with Shelby. They do love each other. But sometimes love just isn't strong enough. At some point you also have to learn to respect the feelings of others, and I think Shelby is the only one that truly does that. Throughout the whole story I don't remember any character (Besides Gerald during the pegging scene), that said they were sorry to Shelby. Sure they don't have to go out and say "I'm Sorry" In dialogue, but I don't think we really got a scene of true remorse from any character besides Shelby.

    Because it suited them, Colt and Caine let Shelby believe that lie and spend four miserable years thinking she was a whore who had no family. Maybe I skipped over it, but where were the true apologies for that? Because all I read was, "Lol Shelby I guess you aren't so smart after all, and oh btw, our lives are worse than yours, so feel sorry for us."

    So I can't understand why Shelby would go so hard to protect these people (especially Caroline), when in the end, they haven't really acknowledged her feelings, or done anything significant for her. All throughout the story you see that Caroline has Colt's back (and by extension Caine's), Colt and Caine have each other, the parents have each other, but who has Shelby's back? In the end, who will go against everyone to protect Shelby? No one. Though hopefully in book three we will see Caine step up to plate, since he loves her, and hopefully Shelby will get her HEA.

    Also, lets talk about Caroline. I don't care for her at all and I don't know why Shelby did. I had to roll my eyes whenever Shelby would kiss her to make her feel better, or to say goodbye. Outside of sexual pleasure Caroline did nothing for her. In fact, she willingly helped in screwing her over and never apologized for it! And she was still willing to keep her in the dark to protect Colt. I mean come on Shelby, forgive, but don't forgot until they've owned up to their wrongs.

    (END SPOILERS!!!!)

    Whew! Now that I've got that out of the way, I can't wait for the third the third book. I really hope Shelby gets her HEA, and I'm excited to see how that happens!

    Eden does not dissapoint in this second installment. Set four years after Gas or Ass we find out Shelby has pretty much cut ties with all of her family. Choosing to stay in school and better herself.

    The four years gave her a lot of time to reflect on what happened in the few months she lived with Caine and Colt. Getting good and angry has kept her away. She wants to leave the past in the past and not worry about what happened. But fate isn't on her side.

    Unable to turn down an offer to speak at a ceremony recognizing Dale's 25 years with the race team, she chooses to seek revenge against those who stole her innocence and broke her spirit.

    Shelby's (Dale's) '71 Hemi Baracuda Convertible takes the spotlight and throws Shelby into YouTube stardom that her family knows nothing about. When speaking at the ceremony has her running into those who hurt her and her family, Dale sets out to prove just how great the Cuda and Shelby really are.

    In a race for titles, it's time to burn rubber and get the revenge she seeks! True to form, fate had other plans. Bringing all the characters into truer light, shedding their exteriors, and showing all their broken pieces.

    Turn and Burn is even more emotionally taxing than the first installment and I truly cannot wait to read the next book! Again, this is not a hearts and sunshine love story. It's full of hot sex, hot cars, and truth.

    A definite must read! (Be sure to read Gas or Ass first, as most of this book will not make sense without it!)

    Turn & Burn is the second book in this series and picks up four years after Shelby left. She's at school and has been asked to give a speech for Dale at a celebration being thrown on his behalf. She and Dale have become close over the years, yet she has never returned to see Cole and Caine. Shelby decides to get revenge on the brothers when she returns. The night of the celebration she takes an immediate dislike to the team's new driver and before she knows it, Dale has pushed her into a race with Kolby for pink slips on their cars. She and the brothers will have to get along to prepare for the race. Shelby still wants revenge but she learns not everything was as it seemed four years ago.

    I want Shelby and Caine together and it seriously stresses me that Shelby is trying to push him together with Caroline. UGH. I'm glad she and the brothers have come to a sort of agreement and I liked the new characters that were introduced - except Robert. And what's up with Shelby's mom? That woman needs to be slapped.

    Like the first book, this is an adult only read with language and sexual situations that are pretty intense. It's told from Shelby's POV and leaves us hanging waiting for the next one, Pedal to the Metal.

    If you thought Gas or Ass was good, hold on cos this just went up another 10 notches! absolutely brilliant book continuing after GoA 4 years later.. This series is totally addictive. Written brilliantly and fully of passion, humor, strife and energy all within the context of NASCAR racing. This is one of my must read series. What is particularly interesting is how Eden Connor looks at the relationship women have with other women and how we tear each other down, we are the biggest critics and abusers. Loved how she wove feminist into the series and especially looking at female self empowerment and that no one empowers us other than ourselves.
