Turn into the Storm: One woman’s fight to survive and her journey to reinvention Kindle Edition
In the winter of 2014, Mauricia Ambrose sat in her doctor's office listening to the ways she could die on the operating table. She faced a chilling reality: the fear of losing her son, Louis. Despite adopting him just two years earlier as a single mom, Mauricia found herself battling kidney failure and a job that drained her.
Determined to leave a legacy, she needed Louis to know who she was before she died. She wrote him letters every day with the hope that he would look back and remember he was loved. Those letters fueled her desire to live; she couldn't let her beautiful baby boy disappear back into foster care. She had to be strong. She had to survive.
Turn into the Storm is a story of resilience, rediscovery, and reinvention. It is the journey of a woman who recognizes her power through adversity and finds unconditional love through motherhood. It is a story of hope and strength—hope that comes from faith and strength that comes through surviving lupus, kidney failure, and burnout. Mauricia's story serves as a powerful reminder that our struggles shouldn't define us; they're our fuel for growth.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2024A superb read with many layers...discipline, hard work, resilience, but most of all it is a study about the power of love...love for her son and through that love, learning to love herself. It's a powerful lesson about advocating for oneself while navigating the health system and so much more...I can't wait to read more about the author and her son's journey.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2024I read this book in two days. It was truly a page turner. Although an autobiography, it read like a thrilling novel. You had to find out what was going to happen next and how would she deal with yet another hurdle. The resilience and tenacity and let's not forget her courage and faith was absolutely extraordinary. I say this book is for everyone because it also fits quite well into the self help category. For anyone who is stuck, the author will show you that you don't have to be. Find another way around your hurdle. Just an amazing story and very thought provoking.
