Twisted Fate: An Age Gap, Single Dad Romance (Willow Brook Falls Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 716 ratings

Delilah Jones was once my saving grace. Now, she might just become my ruin.

Normally I’d do everything to avoid her in our small town of Willow Brook Falls, but that's impossible since she's now my daughter’s new nanny. She’s also way too young for me, and completely off limits.

But there's just one problem. Even after all this time, I still can’t seem to resist her.

I haven’t thought about another woman since I lost my wife, let alone wanting to touch one.

But that all changes the moment Delilah’s lips touch mine.

With time, her affection for my child grows but so does our attraction… and the complication that comes with it.

Because Delilah isn't just any nanny, she’s my daughter's mother. And that may just ruin the both of us.

Twisted Fate is a complete standalone with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA

An emotionally beautiful journey

An emotionally beautiful journey
I devoured this taboo single dad, nanny spicy romance. After reading the blurb, I thought I knew what the twist was going to be, but I was wrong. I am left amazed. At first, I had my doubts going in about how a few things would play out, but boy was I wrong. I loved the way it all came out in the end. Delilah, Vance, and Charlie captured my heart. Their story is emotional but such a beautiful journey. My emotions were all over the place. There is sadness and pain, but also so many sweet and swoony moments. I loved the chemistry, tension, and slowburn. Deliah and Vance fight their attraction and connection, just when you think they are going to give in they are pulled apart. I love a slowburn when it’s full of glances, pining, and close encounters. I loved this story! From the spice to the plot everything was well-written and the pacing was perfect. Everything moved along smoothly and I literally could not put this one down. I felt the third-act break-out, but I loved the way things played out in the end. My only complaint is one tiny thing involving Vance’s deceased wife. There were so many tropes (single dad/nanny, age-gap, forced proximity, grief/loss) packed into this one, and each one was so well-done with a few surprises along the way.

This book was a haven for a twist of fate for couple Vance and Delilah. Vance and Sarah (D’s cousin) adapted Delilah’s daughter Charlie. Later Sarah passes and Delilah starts nannying for Charlie. They all grow thur different griefing experiences while coming together as a family. 3rd act breakup - gives the character time to heal and strengthen their relationships.

The story was different from what I usually read, but it was captivating, so I finished it in less than a day. Delilah was mentioned in the previous book, and after reading the blurb, I was eager to learn about her relationship with Vance and how things would unfold between them. Initially, things were awkward between them, especially since Delilah was Charlie's biological mother and resembled Vance's late wife, also her cousin.

Delilah didn't remember anything from the party she suffered abuse. Later, she discovered she was pregnant, and since her cousin and husband couldn't have children, she allowed them to adopt her daughter and provide her with a life she couldn't. They wanted her to be a part of their lives, but she wasn't in the right headspace, so she stayed away for four years until her cousin passed away, forcing her to confront Vance and her daughter.

Vance and his late wife had some issues in their marriage, leading Vance to believe he was responsible for her death. Consequently, he concentrated on his daughter and his job. Charlie was having difficulty at daycare, and his family tried to support him as much as possible. Since he needed a nanny, Delilah offered her help to be close to Charlie. They bonded from the very beginning, and it was nice to read how Delilah finally had the opportunity to connect with Charlie and heal from her trauma.

Delilah and Vance's chemistry grew despite their initial tension; they tried to stay apart but they couldn't deny their attraction and the pull that grew with every moment they spent together. Despite the drama, I loved how they took time to heal and work on each other before getting back together. Vance finally put his guilt behind him and could give Delilah a new version of himself that she deserved.

Their story was different, but I enjoyed reading it. I loved how things worked out for Vance and Delilah, how they moved on and focused on the family they were creating.

Next up is Shayla's book. I can't wait to read her story and read more about everyone in their small town.

I saw a clip of this on booktok and thought I'd give it a try. It was an okay read but I didn't connect to it at all and skipped through most of the book. With that being said it's an okay read, just not my taste.

Sexy taboo story that you'll love Ashley Cade knows how to write stories that bring you in and make you feel like you're part of it, and she's not afraid to write about the tough stuff. The story will not disappoint.

This was such an interesting story. The situation in this book is definitely different, but it works. Delilah is a super sweet and caring character. She takes a bad situation and makes it better until tragedy hits. Everyone is grieving differently in this book. Poor Vance has a kid to raise and a demanding job. He isn't handling the grieving process very well. When Delilah comes until his life as his nanny, a connection happens. While they work well together and do things a bit backward, the third act breakup is necessary. Vance needs to heal and find himself. Delilah needs to give space and heal herself. This is such a beautiful book with characters you will love, especially little Charlotte. She's a delight and is a big part of this book. The romance is amazing, the sneaking around is great and well Vance is one that shows his affections openly. He takes care of his woman. I seriously loved everything about this book!! I can't wait to read more from this series and the author!!

It’s 2 am, my eyes are burning but I refused to put my kindle down till those two words THE END.

Twisted Fate is beautiful a story about love, loss, healing dealing with unconditional and unconventional love.

I loved Reckless Abandon (book 1 in this series) and I honestly didn’t think a book could top that and then Ashley Cade said hold my beer and Vance entered the scene.

Cade wasted absolutely no time pulling at readers hearts and stomping on the broken pieces. I knew by chapter 3 I was addicted to this book. I wasn’t ready for it to end.

readers should absolutely add it to their tbr!

Delilah and Vance's romance is not the most conventional one out there due to reasons beyond her being the nanny to Charlie, Vance's daughter.

First, Delilah is the actual birth mother to Charlie as she gave up her for adoption to Sarah and Vance. Second, Delilah is Sarah's younger cousin.

Spoilers here, the reason Delilah is the nanny to Charlie is that Sarah ends up dying and Vance needs help in taking off Charlie while he works.

With all that in mind, Delilah and Vance are attracted to one another but don't act on their feelings right away due to those circumstances surrounding them. The more you read the story, the more things become complicated for them due to some misunderstandings that happen.

All in all, this book was to me an enjoyable read. I do have to warn to please check the trigger warnings this story has since some can be triggering for others to read.

Absolutely loved this book. Good characters, painful start. I was so sad but i loved how Delilah grew into her better shelf i would have loved some justice but sometimes the past is past. Though I was weary of Vance but I grew more fond of him as book went ahead!

The trauma that Delilah went through was heartbreaking. The way she was able to find peace with her decision, and for that decision to bring happiness to Sarah and Vance was amazing.

My heart ached for both Delilah and Vance, and their pain was well articulated in this book.

This is definitely not your average age gap, single dad story. I'm glad I found this book.
