Tyrone Swift is an ex-police detective who now works privately. He’s survived a stabbing and his fiancée running off with another man. Swift's personal life is complicated. He is still involved with his ex-wife Ruth, who is expecting their child, but living with another man. And it’s just about the worst time to begin another relationship but he is tempted by the attractive police detective Nora Morrow.

    I have now read all 7 Tyrone Swift books. They are all outstandingly good. The author has a very good grasp of interviews and how they might turn on small signals. She also has 3D characters and settings that are additional characters. There are echoes of Ruth Rendell in the stories but without any imitation - Tyrone Swift is her own creation! Recommended for all serious mystery lovers!!!!!!!!!

    The books are very interesting and not too frightening. I just wish that the author wouldn't keep describing what people are wearing and a description of the inside of houses. In my opinion this is not necessary as you don't retain the info. and perhaps it is only used as a filler.

    I have left it until book 6 to write review .All I all good read but I do wonder if anybody would want to be close to Tyrone Swift,.His friends seem to die with an alacrity and he appears to be a man who has bad luck follow him like a shadow. I did however enjoy these tales and look forward to another Tyrone Swift investigation
