HERO (Unfit Hero Book 2) Kindle Edition
Perceptions define the man that I have become on the inside.
The world may not see me this way, but this is who I am.
Sullied. Contaminated. Worthless. Masked.
The way I perceive myself affects every aspect of my life.
The world may see a perfectly clean person, but on the inside, I am nothing but dirty and scarred.
The world sees us one way.
We see ourselves another.
Perceptions are what we’ve given ourselves.
Perceptions of what we think we deserve.

About the author

Born and raised in the Central Valley in California. My husband and I moved to Oregon while he was in the US Coast Guard and then to Texas for ten years before recently relocating to North Carolina. We spend our time with our two sons at all their events, screaming from the stands as they swim their hearts out!

- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2019We meet Sammi and Wyatt at Wyatt’s HS Football game where they’re going to states. Sammi tells Wyatt she’s pregnant so Wyatt tells his parents and they’re totally on board. Wyatt plans to ask Sammi to marry him but Sammi is very sad and Wyatt goes to her house and unfortunately finds out Sammi had an abortion. He throws the ring into the grass and drives off. We meet Exeter, a 17 year old high school student who is pregnant but doesn’t know which of the two men she’s slept with is the father. She calls her friend, Emily and they go to an abortion clinic as Emily asks Exeter if the baby is Uncle David’s.
This book was so good. I highly recommend it. It was the second book by Ms. Faiman that I’ve read. I loved all the characters especially Wyatt, Exeter, Rylan and Channing.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2019So sweet my teeth ached not necessarily a bad thing, just not my thing. The angst was high there was some suspense and some serious baggage mainly with Exeter heartbreaking really. Just not my thing. Hayley writes beautifully and gives us a HEA ending. Even Emily gets hers also.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2020Loved the couple and their story. My problem with the book is just too much sex. Seriously, it felt like every chapter had some drawn out sex scene.. I am far from a prude and have read most of Hailey's books but this was just too much. When you start skimming through to get to the story, not a good sign.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2019I enjoyed this book. The sexiness and the caring shown by both characters is what keeps me hooked on this book. I liked how Wyatt was very alpha. Exeter was so shy but she came around. I also enjoyed the short story that came with the book. It clears up some questions about another character in the Hero story.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2019I loved the brokenness in each character this book isn't about perfect people finding a perfect ending. There is grit and reality and true pieces to the lives of these characters it makes you really relate to them on a deeper level. This is not a throw away book - it's a buy and reread book!

Wyatt Johnson happens to have a connection with the couple from book one in the Unfit Hero series. He seems to be a ladies man but as you get to know him you’ll find that’s not true. Exeter White doesn’t realize it but she has something in common with Wyatt. There were so many times that I wanted to yell at Exeter. I know it has to do with her past but her self-esteem seems to be almost nil. Wyatt is just what she needs but the page-turner moments are looking to see if she follows her head or her heart.
I would read Rylan’s story first because it bleeds into this current book. I didn’t mind that since Wyatt and Rylan seem to have a close relationship. Plus Exeter helps us in getting to know more of what’s going on with Channing. In some ways family is important to our characters.
It was interesting to see a man who grew up with uncertainties find a woman who could change that into certainties. Our author creates a story that seems so believable. Exeter’s story is something that could certainly be based on reality since sadly it is something that does happen. Back in the day it was a subject that wasn’t talked about and certainly never put into fiction. But it’s nice to see that when an author creates a work of fiction, they can show a great outcome to something that might be a painful reminder for some.
I think that this is one reason why I liked this book just a little more than Rylan’s. Exeter touched my heart. She’s not a woman who fits into a model’s body but can still catch a great guy. She also fought against what was done to her even though it took a while to do it. Some may thing that Wyatt is the hero of this story but Exeter is as well. Problem is that she has to believe in herself and in order to do that she needs Wyatt – he sees something in her that she doesn’t.
Usually I love to read the sneak peeks the author includes because it gets me excited about the next book coming out. This time, I said, “no, I’m not going to”. That was until I realized it was a short story – so I caved. Now the question becomes “will there be more?”
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2021The short story at the end. My favorite. So worth the wait. The book was great. I loved this story. Wyatt and E were just beautiful together. The perfect rough and raw story.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2019Wyatt and Exeter had such heartbreaking events that happened at such a young age. When they come together it is amazing. Still life has a way of throwing up road blocks. I absolutely loved this book! It was brilliantly conceived and written! A must read!
