I can't say this book and its predecessors qualify as one of my "can't put it down/I'll read it again books" but it's an engaging read. Someone jumping into the series with this book might find the plot a little thin at times, but having all the back stories fills in most of the gaps.If you're considering this book, I recommend you go back and start with book 1of the "Universe in Flames series and start from there.

    The last book started the new series exceptionally well & this book helps build up the expectation even more. It's hard to decide which is going to be the the worst enemy between the Spectres or the Asgardian Guards who are wanting revenge against their creators for locking them in cryogenic suspension for 5,000 years.
    As well as those 2 enemies there are a few other hostile races & factions that are emerging to cause even more problems. I can already see whwre series 3 & 4 can develop at this rate. Roll on UIF 13
