Awesome, awesome, awesome!! Armageddon Unleashed (Universe in Flames Book 7) by Christian Kallias is a great book. I was sad it ended, but am looking forward to the next book in the series to find out what happens next on this spectacular journey.

This book was action packed from page 1. Each chapter was full of exciting interactions, scenes, and descriptions that had you feeling a part of this epic storyline. Interesting enough, one of my favorite characters was one of the villains, Oryn. While battling wills with her father and brother, and battling against the protagonist, Chase, she was battling with her own identity. I enjoyed reading her character development and how her interactions played out and were revealed.

The plotline was imaginative and described with just enough detail that had you riding along in the ships and during the fights between characters. The characters included in this book were well developed with interesting dialogue (at times funny and lighthearted), and had you caring about what was going to happen to them. There were scenes where your mouth dropped open and a scene that even brought tears to my eyes. The author’s writing style pulls you along this intense journey with each character and has you wanting more. It’s amazing how the author uses his descriptions and dialogue to get you to care about an AI in the story. To me this really shows the wonderful writing that takes place in this book.

If you haven’t read the previous books, I suggest you do, but the author includes a section in the beginning of the book entitled “the story so far” which describes the prior books with cliffhangers and twists.

Action packed from start to finish, this sequel is a complicated work of an author whose imagination seems to know no limits (but may should). I won't attempt to summarize the story - enough readers have done more than an adequate job of that already. I couldn't bring myself to give it 5 stars because it seems to me that the author has thrown everything into the mix just for sensationalism - 6 different sentient races, plus numerous Olympians, Asgardians, & 2 AI's. Kallias has equipped the hero with super powers - multiple offensive & defensive weapons, unlimited teleportation, telekinesis, mental telepathy, healing powers, the ability to enter computer systems, etc., etc. While creative, the result has become a story that so defies the reality we know, it borders on total fantasy. There are so many characters in play that the reader is taxed to recall "who is who". Should it really take a whole book to address a single fictitious battle? It became tiring in the reading. Hopefully the following books in the series will move the story line a little faster (but I doubt it).

I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire series. This is one that is hard to put down. The action is nonstop. Christian Kallias is able to bring his characters to life, even the characters that are machine bring the reader into their life. I am enjoying this series so much that I most certainly will read his other works. I like to read to relax. My favorites have excellent character development, multiple plots happening at the same time, few if any slow spots, and something that requires thinking. This does all these and more. Nice job Christian!! :-)

This book was an excellent continuation of the box set, I thoroughly enjoyed the box set and basically read one of the books in it every day. I highly recommend beginning with that if you have not started this series yet as it includes novellas which flesh out some of the internal characters in the main books. One again, I must say that this series is a lot of fun reading!

I am fortunate enough to be on the author's ARC team and received an early release in exchange for an honest review. This isn't my usual genre, and I was optimistically skeptical for the first three or four pages. By page 10, I was completely involved in the story even though this is the first book I've read in the series. I did purchase the final version because I want my husband to read the series. I know he'll enjoy it.

If you're looking for a critique of battle tactics, you'll have to choose a different review. That's just not my thing. But I can say that these characters are strong, well-developed, and realistic. The protagonist isn't faultless, which is quite refreshing. The story is compelling, and it doesn't take long to become fully invested in the outcome.I highly recommend reading the series in order, as there are character interactions and events that will make more sense in context.

And the last page....well, you'll have to read it for yourself. I anxiously await book 8.

Mixing the old earth mythology with scifi is a fun way to take you away from our normal daily routine. I'm looking forward to reading more in the series...

I had the honour of being one of the ARC team for Chris, and well what can one say but this story gets better with each book. Chris has continued the battle for Chase and his crew against Gaia2. She told them that if they returned to earth she would wipe out all life on the planet.

Chase cannot let this happen, and with the help of new allies he sets out to free earth and it's people. But Gaia2 is not the only enemy that Chase needs to worry about, the Fury are looking to use it in the hope of killing Chase.

Oryn, is hoping to use this for her benefit, whilst she is also facing the news that her real father is Zeus. Can Chase get her to face the truth and help with the fight.

If you have not read this series, you are missing out and I recommend you give it a go.

Looking forward to the next book Chris.

This is my favourite book in the series so far. Chase against Gaia 2 in the own world. Non-stop action, crisis upon crisis, enemy after enemy each more powerful than the last. Great characters and an epic ending, and this is less than half way through the series. Highly recommended.

Once again with this series of books well written with a good story-line even if sometimes a bit predictable, but as in the previous books I care very little about the individual characters. Still worth the read though new readers will definitely want to start at books 1-3 (sold as package deal). At least with Christian I won't have to wait long for his next instalment.

This is the seventh book of The Universe in Flames series.
Armageddon Unleashed is a fantastic novel, with Aliens, dogfights, tense battles, each book is a revelation.
Chase Athanatos is a Fury Hybrid, and amazingly we find out he's part Olympian! Chase, Sarah, Chris (Chase and Sarah's baby son) who happens to have grown to late teens but is only a couple of weeks old, Daniel, Chase's best friend whom he calls Brother, Gaia, a benevolent AI, Aphroditis, an Olympian along with her brother Ares and sister Athena, Spiros (you'll find his story in the Novella Damacles Fall) Yanis and many more, band together to overcome and rid the Earth of an evil AI Gaia 2, bent on destruction of all human life on the planet.
Chase and his family and friends, not only have to fight and win over Gaia 2, but also have to contend with fighting a menacing foe, the Furies, who were long thought dead and gone from the universe.
The head of the Furies Arakan's Daughter Oryn, has a plan. With the aid of a slave device, she uses her brother Miseo to test the device, to aid in her plan to take the reins from her father, by devious means.
Will Chase rid the Earth of Gaia 2? Will Oryn best him? Will they survive?
Excellent reading from book 1, the UiF series is the best I've read in such a long time, with each book I want more!
Check out the cover, Mr. Kallias happens to be a great artist also. An all rounder in my opinion.
Highly recommended series, get your hands on a copy soon, you won't regret it.

As a person who is continually reading books, it is quite hard to find books that I really like, but the Universe in Flames series is one I would recommend to anyone. The plot twists and general sci-fi theme is really the thing I love most about it.

There are some parts that may be inappropriate for younger children, as it does contain some swearing, but apart from that, it is a very good read, with exciting action and well-developed characters. All in all, a must read for anyone who loves mythology, fantasy, and space!
