    I read a lot of different kinds of fiction books. I just completed book six of the Universe in Flames series and have started book seven. I’m hooked and will have to read every one of the books now. They are hard to put down and one just draws you to the next to see what’s going to happen. This is a two edged sword though. I find myself putting off other projects to keep up with what’s happening to Chase. If you like space science fiction then this is a great series to read.

    I read this kind of story to be entertained. I do not get hung up on whether something in the story is completely logical or even possible. That's a good thing, too, because this story is set in the future when space travel is commonplace, and contains mythological Greek gods with super powers.

    One more punch, kick or fire ball would have made me toss this on the unreadable list. Only a 10 year old would want to physically fight every villain to come along. The parts that actually develop characters and their background are well written so I can't understand why this author wants to fight so much.

    Just finished this 2nd set books 4,5,6. It's a fantastic read, the characters are well fleshed out and add to the many strands in this exciting series. I would highly recommend this series to and syfi fans as it will keep you entertained and spark to imagination trying to put faces to each character.

    Without this quite annoying "coincidences" (see below), I would have gladly put a 4 or a 5 as the story is entertaining, the characters are interesting, the technology plausible and the combat vivid. BUT the coincidences and the divine interventions are killing the story.
    The problem is that authors that write SF do not understand that space has THREE dimensions and that time is not constant at all.
    Thus for example, when two ships jump from two different locations (and even if they were to jump at exactly the same time), they cannot
    arrive at the same time (this depends on their speed) and the same place. This is just not statistically possible. Or when someone is rescued just a few minutes before his or her death, while to just rescue his or her, the saviors had to travel in space and fight for quite some time. Again, the timing is not plausible at all. Or the woman that pops in just in time to explain her theory about the old gods and where to find some. And unfortunately, the list is quite long.
