The Mountain Man's Unexpected Bride (Matrimony Alaska Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 201 ratings

He’s given up on love.

But she’s about to rock his world.

Kerry Pierson is unlucky in love.
Living in a place like Matrimony, Alaska you would think finding a bride would be easy.
It sure hasn’t worked out that way for Kerry.

After his last attempt left him high and dry at the altar, while she found her happily ever after with the best man--
he’s given up.

Being single is just easier. Besides, it’s not like his heart was involved anyway.
Just his pride.

Now, all he wants to concentrate on his restaurant and bar.
That’s it.

But even that’s not going well.
His best chef just walked out on him.

When Katie Washington breezes into town, Kerry is instantly attracted to her. In fact, he’s never felt this way about a woman before.

But he’s been burned twice. It would be stupid to try a third time…
Wouldn’t it?

Lily is back, inviting you to start your new year back in Matrimony, Alaska with a mountain man to warm up your winter nights. This book is a complete standalone romance, low drama, but very high on happily ever after and sweet heat.

I have to confess, I didn't particularly like Kerry before I read The Mountain Man's Unexpected Bride. He was a bit of a jerk in the previous book but the reasons for it quickly became clear here and now. He is pretty set in the idea that he just isn't meant to have a partner and he is just gonna have to live with it. That is until Kate flies into town and decides to stay. Kate doesn't have roots but she wants them. She has traveled around looking for the place that feels like home. What she finds is a quaint Alaskan town with a hotter than hot bar owner/landlord. Her sweetness and her sparkling personality soon convince Kerry that maybe he shouldn't give up just yet. I still cannot get over how stinking cute this story was. Kate's personality is so engaging and genuine, I dare someone to dislike her. Kerry doesn't know what hit him at first. That passes quickly and he realizes that Kate is perfect for him. Loved it!!

Since I left a bad review on the previous book I thought it only fair to leave a good one here since I enjoyed this one so much.

Kerry and Katie’s story is like night and day from the first two books. Kerry (who was kind of a jerk in the first two) is wonderful and Katie is a much better h than Aggie and Dixie were. Kerry is skittish from previous bad experiences and thinks he’s better off alone. Katie grew up in the system and has travelled around in search of a place where she belongs. She is smart and independent but still able to recognize and appreciate what she’s found with Kerry. Once Kerry realizes she’s everything he’d been looking for he doesn’t shy away. It also helps that they (and the reader) get to know each other a bit. They actually spend real time together and have meaningful conversations! Gasp!
    Loved the epilogues. ❤️

We met Kerry in book two, got left at the altar by his bride and best friend/best man. He was ready to give up on finding his forever bur in walked in Katie someone he did not expect. Because of what happened to him before Kerry is reluctant to take a chance, Katie stole his heart and Kerry didn't have a choice but to give in💫💫💫

This is the third book in this series. They should be read in order. Kerry is done with woman and finding one. He has been burned twice and now just wants to focus on his business. Katie can never stay in one place to long. With is not feeling like Christmas where she is now, she decides its time to move on to a new place even if its just for the holidays. She doesn’t plan to stay in Matrimony but something about the place calls to her so she does. Kerry nor Katie expected to find love when and where they least expected it but they do. There is an instant pull towards each other. Kerry is a great man. Katie is wondering spirit. She wonders because she is looking for a family of sorts. A place to feel connected. That’s what she finds in Matrimony. I am loving this series more with each book. The characters are wonderful and funny. The are on the short side in length but great reads. Great job L. Nicole. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

The Mountain Man's Unexpected Bride is the third book in the Matrimony Alaska series and is the story of Kerry Pierson and Katie Washington. Kerry has not had good luck, or should that be love, with the women in his life. So when he meets Kerry his has already sworn off women, relationships and ever getting married, and lets not forget the irony in the fact that he lives in a Matrimony, Alaska. And then enters Katie. Katie is a woman who is searching for that one place that feels like home and until then she just keeps moving. Her next destination on her quest is Fairbanks, Alaska. But first there is a stop along the way in the small town of Matrimony. The longer she hangs around the more she likes this place, the people and the feeling she gets....like she could maybe find a place for herself and plant some roots. It does not hurt either that the growly bar owner is a big sexy mountain man who makes her tingle in all the right places. Kerry may have thought he was done with women and it was going to be the bachelor life for him but that was before he laid eyes on the beautiful young woman that has crossed his path. The question is whether he will be able to keep her in town and in his bed.

I liked that Kerry got a taste of what it is like to love and be loved. I’m glad that Katie found a “home” in Matrimony. Kerry just made it better. I kinda wish Ash & Birk could have given Kerry some mess about falling in love with Katie and that he now realizes that love in a relationship is important as well as companionship. Glad the found their HEA.
