Unholy Testament - Full Circle (The Blackstone Vampires Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 17 ratings

Rose and her children are still held captive on a ship staffed by vampires, overseen by the demon Eco.

There are more blood-drenched confessions to read, as Rose has no choice but to finish reading Eco's journal. Eco, mad and as unpredictable as ever, can snap at any time. But will he? The rest of the journal tells of the sick and twisted obsession Eco has had for Blackstone House's former mistress, evil and debauched Eve Darton. There are aristocratic devil rites, both in England and France, including satanic sacrifices. There is the Great Fire of London 1666, plagues, vampire destroyers, witch hunts and resurrection men who supply a necrophile doctor.

The novel comes full circle as all the hideous secrets of Blackstone House are revealed, as are the reasons why Rose’s father killed himself and his family. Dracula is introduced, as is a child cruelly orphaned by the vampires. Dracula, the child’s dying mother says, has cursed her daughter and pleads with Rose to take her. Rose does, but what hope can the hopeless have?

The third book in Carole Gill's Blackstone Vampires series,
Unholy Testament - Full Circle continues the engrossing, terrifying tale of Rose Baines and her family.

Review

' 92 Horror authors you need to read right now'Carole Gill -- the Blackstone Vampires series~Charlotte Books EXAMINER."In the attempt to find the just measure of horror and terror, I came upon the writing of Carole Gill whose work revealed a whole new dimension to me. The figure of the gothic child was there. Stoker's horror was there. Along with the romance! At the heart of her writing one stumbles upon a genuine search for that darkness we lost with the loss of Stoker."

And yet again I was blown away by Carole Gill's captivating and tragic story. I believe that I enjoyed this book even more than the first two.
In this the third book Eco has continued his tale of his corruption and horror in the journal he is forcing Rose to read. If anything he has shown he is even more corrupted and evil with what he tells her instead of gaining her love as he wished.
It is also shown how evil Dr. Bannion was. He is even more disgusting and horrifying than previously thought and probably tops Eco in evilness.
As always this book was very well written, stayed true to the gothic vampirism that I enjoy, and wove an intruiging story that will most likely attract even more readers such as myself.
Five out of five stars; I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

This is the third book in a series, and the only one I’ve read so far. Not knowing the background of the characters may have influenced my review, but I feel this story does well as a standalone book.

The story starts with Rose being held hostage on a ship bound for America by the evil, immortal being called Eco. Trying to win her love, he wrote a journal about his life and how he ended up the terrible evil creature that she knows. The majority of the book is from his POV, through his journal.

This is a well-written, Gothic style of writing. The settings and events are well-defined, along with the characters. As the journal unfolds, you can’t help understanding Eco and how he became the mad creature as known by Rose. I even felt sorry for him. But that all comes to a crashing halt at the end, when the story goes back to Rose and what transpires afterwards. Not having read the first book, I didn’t develop an affinity towards Rose that I probably should have. That familiarity would have put more UMPH into the ending, I’m sure. What happened to Edmund and Daniel, the true victims in this tale, affected me more.

I really enjoyed Carole Gill’s personification of Satan and Death. Louis I saw as a self-righteous twit, with a God complex, turning people into the undead to justify his own existence. I thought the children were too weak for being vampires, probably due to be being smothered by Eve. And poor Eve, who was condemned to a life of evil from almost her mortal birth, because of Satan’s lust for her. I’m sure my perception of them will change once I read the first book. The author did a great job getting me to identify with each them.

The only complaint I have is the length of the book and the never ending sin and debauchery. There’s only so much a girl can take. It all started sounding the same, over and over. Halfway through, I found myself looking at the percentage read, thinking, are we there yet?

If you love dark, vampire, Gothic tales, this one’s for you. After I read the first book, I might have to update my review on this one. I give it 4 feathers.

True Evil is lurking in the pages of this story of gristly yet hypnotizing horror. Eco's misguided yet scrupulous behavior enthralls the reader. I give this series a 5 out of 5 stars.

Excellent series! I loved reading it, really drew me in and I would love to have heard even more about them!

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Unholy Testament - Full Circle picks up where Unholy Testament - The Beginnings left off. Rose and the children, Ada and Simon are still being held hostage by the evil demon Eco. Eco is using the children against Rose so that he can make her read his journal, a testament of his life that he wrote specifically for Rose. Eco has fallen in love with Rose and wants her for himself. But Rose will never love Eco she has given her heart to Louis Eco's cousin. Eco claims to love Rose but I wonder if he is capable of loving anyone. Eco was also in love with Louis' wife before Rose. On one hand I think he loved Eve and now he loves Rose but on the other hand I think he has always been jealous of Louis' and wants what he has. I think he only wants what belongs to Louis. He wants to get back at Louis for being a better person or vampire than he is.

Eco has done some mean and evil things in his life. He has used people and killed them just to see them suffer. He enjoys seeing people hurt and in pain. But at the same time he also cares for some people and has a soft spot in his heart for them. But if it serves his purpose he would kill his own mother if it would benefit him. The things he has done in his lifetime is beyond shocking. Eco believes after Rose reads his testament she will love him back. Even if she doesn't love him he will take her for himself no matter what Rose or anyone else says about it. In his mind she will be his one way or another he doesn't care how as long as she is his.

Rose is afraid of Eco and is only trying to buy time with Eco until they reach land. For now she is trying to tell Eco what she thinks he wants to hear. She doesn't want to make him mad she is afraid of what he would do to the children. Once they reach land she hopes she has come up with a plan to save herself and the children. Hopefully Rose and the children can make their escape from Eco once they reach land.

Unholy Testament - Full Circle is full of dark, gory, evil and heinous twist and turns which keeps your adrenaline going. Unholy Testament - Full Circle with all of the horrific things that goes on in it is just right up my alley. And believe me you definitely get plenty of evil in Unholy Testament - Full Circle. The ending left me with my mouth hanging open it was so surprising. I never expected it but I loved it.

I love this series The Blackstone Vampires; I have loved it since the first page of The House on Blackstone Moor. The next book Unholy Testament - The Beginnings was just as amazing as the first book. And the third book Unholy Testament - Full Circle was even better. I don't honestly know which one was the best. I can't make that choice. I can't wait for the fourth book in the series The Fourth Bride hopefully due to be released this summer.
