Unveiling Chaos (Unveiling Series, Book 2) Kindle Edition
Naomi’s life had been steady, in order, planned out… just the way she liked it. But when her boyfriend of five years leaves her for another woman and her mother makes a surprise reappearance in her life, she watches her controlled life fall into chaos. Then she meets, and has a one night stand with, Damien. The last thing on her mind is getting a new boyfriend, yet she can’t deny the attraction she feels, so when he offers no strings sex, it seems like the perfection solution. But the more she gets to know Damien, the more she learns all they have in common, and the line between casual and something more starts to blur. For all her planning, she realizes… you can’t plan love.
It was never just sex…
Damien’s life is busy and hardly ever in order. Between working two jobs, taking care of his sister, and saving up for his own tattoo studio, there are always surprises. When he meets Naomi, the last thing on his mind is getting a girlfriend, but he can’t deny the connection he feels. It’s clear she’s not ready for a relationship, though that won’t stop him from pursuing one… even if he has to lie to her about his intentions. But when one of the things that brought them together, slowly tears her apart, Damien has to make her see… the beauty in chaos.
Editorial Reviews
Review
- "I REALLY enjoyed this one. Jeannine Allison portrays real people in real situations that are rife with emotion and depth of character but somehow manages to keep the angst-factor very low... This author seems to get stronger with every novel she writes and I'm looking forward to the next in this series." - Emma Scott, author of the Full Tilt duet
- "Stunning cover, beautiful writing, and a heartfelt story. Unveiling Chaos was perfect!" - Briana Pacheco, author of Don't Let Me Fall
- "Allison did a phenomenal job of tackling a very real-life issue and showing characters finding their way, through the love and support of other, to healing. Also like in the Sky, she did a phenomenal job of character development. These are not shallow clichéd people; they jump from the pages with real-life intensity." - Erika, Goodreads Reviewer
- "If you're in the mood for a swoony hero with a strong heroine by his side, then this one is for you." - Sonya, Chatterbooks Book Blog

About the author

Jeannine Allison is an author of contemporary and New Adult romance. After waffling between many degrees in college, she finally graduated with a BA in English Literature from Arizona State University.
She loves writing and reading -- obviously :) -- but when she's not she enjoys playing with her two dogs, obsessing over new makeup, drinking coffee, googling new tattoos, and pretty much anything else that allows her to wear yoga pants and a sweatshirt ;)

- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2018Jeannine Allison was a new to me author at the beginning of 2017 and I’m so happy that I’ve found her. Her writing is superb and her novels give me so many feelings. The covers are so beautiful. I loved every book I’ve read by her and I can’t wait to read more books by her in 2018.
Unveiling Chaos is Naomi and Damien’s love story. I wondered how this book would start, because Naomi was in a solid relationship in the previous book (Unveiling the Sky). Naomi has broken up with that boyfriend and she’s done with men for the moment. She won’t do commitment anymore. When Naomi meets Damien, she’s definitely attracted to him and that feeling is mutual. Damien doesn’t hide what he’s feeling. Naomi suggest ‘friends’ with benefits. Damien wants more, but he agrees with the hope that Naomi will want more one day (hopefully soon).
I loved Naomi and Damien! Naomi is caring, feisty, outgoing and determined. Damien is patient, caring, hardworking and determined. Naomi and Damien both don’t have an easy home situation, but they are so strong. They have more in common than they realize. They spend every minute they can together. They always have a great time together. They get to know each other and that made them slowly fall in love with each other. It was beautiful to read.
I love all the secondary characters! They are supportive and loving. I love the friendship between everybody. It’s real and tight. We meet a new character and I’m so happy that she has gotten her own story because I needed it.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2017This group of people have definitely wormed themselves into my heart. It started with Unveiling The Sky and now with this book there's no going back.
Naomi has always been a woman who wants to have fun, who's opinionated and very much in control of herself and most importantly her emotions. Damien is a good and caring guy who takes care of his pregnant little sister. What both Naomi and Damien have in common is a troubled childhood with absent parents and people who battle with addiction.
When they first got together it was all about mindless sex with no strings. For Naomi it was but Damien was a relationship kind of guy and his patience with her was astounding. The growth from casual to a serious relationship was well paced and developed. Their chemistry was sizzling hot and the bedroom action off the charts. They both had a lot of baggage from their past but especially Naomi was struggling but Damien and her friends were a fantastic support system. He didn't scare easily but stayed and proved he wasn't going to leave her. Like other people had done earlier.
I love how caring and kind this gang is. They embraced Damien sister Ellie as if she was an old friend of theirs. They are all about family, love and support. Jeannine Allison has written another strong and emotional story, that features topics that everyone can relate to but handles it with such care. I know there are more to come from this amazing group of people and I can't wait.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2016Unveiling Chaos is more than a romance.
It's one girl's journey of letting herself become vulnerable again, and dealing with the pain of parents who weren't there for her.
This story has a serious undertone, and in the middle, I about needed a break to hug my mom. I truly felt the pain Naomi felt from having a deadbeat dad and a drug addict for a mother. And I was just as wrapped up in the turmoil when her mother came back into her life.
This is one of those books that gradually enters your soul.
There's not a whole lot of drama, but it's more built on the relationship building between Damian and Naomi, and the unfortunate relationship both have with their parents.
Damien and Naomi were great together. I loved Naomi's sarcasm, forwardness, and also her vulnerability. She was a relatable character.
The friends with benefits trope is one of my favorites. I love watching the characters fall more and more each time they are together. Damien from the get-go knows he wants more with Naomi, but he lets her take the lead because he doesn't want to scare her away.
I found his feelings almost borderline insta-love, but I loved his forwardness and that he knew what he wanted right away.
And when Naomi boldly asks him to have sex with her having talked to him like twice? Right up my alley. And hawt.
So while there is a serious mood to the story, Damian and Naomi have great chemistry and it was really enjoyable watching them fall for one another. I would recommend to anyone who loves contemporary romance.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2018This book is HOT! This author surely knows how to pull her readers in, grab you, shake you around, and leave you completely crumbled on the floor, and you will be begging for more. Heart broken, sexual tension, pain, addiction, forgiveness, love. This is all wrapped into one and it is written so beautifully.
Naomi is such a fire cracker. I love this character so much. Damien is definitely my man candy. Tattoos, beard, and a sexy man bun. Whoa my girly bits was on fire!!!!
Read this book you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2017Though it can easily stand alone, this book continues with Alara's (book 1 heroine) roommate Naomi. Though I liked book 1, this one had more heart somehow. Damien was wonderful, with his snappy comebacks, fierce protectiveness, and sweet side. I loved how the author used another character's addiction issues to help Naomi come to accept and deal with her own issues (yes, this is intentionally vague because I don't do spoilers. Sorry).
While it was nice to see Gabe and Alara again, I need to know what's going to happen with Grayson and Ellie, Sherry and mystery guy whose name I forget, and Sam and Derek. So keep writing Ms. Allison, and I'll keep obsessively reading to find out what these guys are up to. Capiche?

5.0 out of 5 stars Damien and Naomi ❤️😍😍💖💖
First of all let me just say that the cover of this book is just so gorgeous. I loved it. This story is about Alara's friend, the spit fire and sassy, Naomi and the cool tattooed, bearded hottie Damien.. Sigh!! Before I start swooning over Damien, I have to say how much beautifully written is this book. The entire journey that the author takes us through is just so soul touching and once again like book one, thought provoking. This book takes addiction as the subject and has dealt with it so beautifully.
Also how we just have to wait for that one day when things would be better and never give up, just keep going and that yes, you might be strong but big girls cry too.
And in all this the love between Damien and Naomi. That's the kind of love everyone dreams of. As you don't want someone who loves you to need you but to want you. OMG...
There are so many beautiful quotes and words throughout this book. I love, loved Damien and Naomi's story so much.
Also I'm so curious about Sherry and Hunter and what's their secret. As she is a very closed off person. Even though she's Alara's and Naomi's best friend, yet they are clueless about her personal life.
Then there is this couple that I want to read more than anything is Ellie and Grayson. You get to see their friendship developing in this book and I admire Grayson so much for being a man with a huge heart. And even though Ellie is herself battling and kinda thinks she's imperfect, I love just how kind hearted and loving person she is, so yeah I can't wait to read about them.
And my next favorite couple, Derek and Sam. They just love to drive me crazy. What's the complication. Why can't they just get together. I so want them together, I just can't wait to start their book.
This book has left me with such wonderful feels. I'm gonna have it in my head for a long time. So to compensate I'm gonna straight dive into the next book in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars ...you know you're in for a pretty special story.
#readingtigress - Review -
When the author has written a sentence, that consists of 3 words, that is so basic but elicits such a strong jerk of the heart string... you know you're in for a pretty special story.
I adored Naomi in the first book of this series, so was really excited to read her story. Where she came from, and where she was going. I love how she is so headstrong but vulnerable at once, and I love that Jeannine is able to portray that so well.
Damien gave me some serious heart flutters.... not going to lie. To have the idea of this big brute of a guy who is so loving, caring and nurturing; really makes the story that much deeper.
This book in the series deals with addiction. Personally, and thankfully, I've never had to truly deal with addiction. However, with Jeannine's writing, she makes it really relatable and easy to feel what these characters must be feeling. You desperately want to hug them and comfort them, while slapping them around to make them see sense.
This story also allows us to continue following the lives of the characters from "Unveiling the Sky". To be able to keep reading about Gabe and Alara, Derek, Sherry and Sam made my heart sing. I love a book series that seamlessly continues on with everyone's lives, so you feel like you never left.
As I am about to go into the third book of this series, all I can think is how much I want these characters to be my friends in real life! I can hardly wait to see what everyone is doing in the next book and continue the journey that is the "Unveiling" series.
Thank you Jeannine for another amazing story.
