Vaporized ll: Alien Invasion Sci Fi Thriller Kindle Edition
Earth has been invaded by alien lifeforms...
Colonization appears to be underway....
A pocket of humanity survives. Amber Lee just has to live long enough to find it....
Following a cataclysmic event that no one on Earth saw coming, lawyer Amber Lee awakes in London to find that the city and seemingly the entire population of the UK has been literally vaporized over one night during the summer Bank Holiday weekend - a surprise alien invasion that the news stations call "The Event". She sets off across the city, now slowly being taken over by an unknown alien lifeform, to her now deserted family home in West Wales.
With all hope fading of finding anyone else alive, she picks up a radio transmission coming from a nearby farm, and sets off to discover if the individual responsible for the transmission is still alive.
Miraculously the farm owner, John, has also survived the mysterious event and he has been picking up radio transmissions from a group of scientists in Nevada, USA. With nowhere to go, and the alien menace closing in on the farm, Amber and John flee to the coast, with the intention of embarking on a voyage across the Atlantic to the west coast of America in the hope of finding the only other known survivors. The only mode of transport available to them however is a large oil tanker, The Nostrum, which was in the process of leaving port to deliver its cargo of crude oil, when the cataclysm struck.
Amber and John manage to board the tanker, but they soon discover however that they are not travelling alone, and the seemingly impossible voyage quickly turns into a journey from hell, which has virtually no chance of succeeding....
This is the second book in the Vaporized series. If you enjoy fast paced science fiction adventure novels and psychological thrillers then jump into Amber's shoes and enjoy the ride, but don't forget to take your motion sickness tablets before hand!

About the author

Simon was born in Cardiff, South Wales, UK, in 1968.
When he's not busy with his day job as a lawyer, he is the author of Action-Adventure-thriller novels, predominantly the Robert Spire Action Thrillers, which all have an ecological, historical, science-fiction mystery cataclysmic theme. Think James Bond mixed with Indiana Jones and a bit of environmental / historical facts thrown in for good measure...
Favorite authors include - Ed McBain, James Patterson, Lee Child, Lincoln Child, Douglas Preston, Patrick Lee, Michael Grumley, A G Riddle and Clive Cussler.
Favorite movies - Good The Bad and The Ugly, Jaws, Deliverance, Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, It's A Wonderful Life, Scarface, Play Misty For Me, Electra-Glide In Blue, The Abyss, Deliverance, Contact, Alien, Predator, Interstellar, The Thing and many others.
Previous Books - THE A-Z OF GLOBAL WARMING - updated 2012 edition, and the Robert Spire Eco-terrorism action-thrillers TIPPING POINT, IMPACT POINT, MELT ZONE, CATACLYSM OF THE ANCIENTS, CRYPTO, and the GALILEO PROJECT SciFi UFO Conspiracy thrillers 1-3. The author is now working oon Spire 9 - THE VANISHED.
The author has also written Sci-fi thrillers, VAPORIZED I AND II and SALIENT, together with stand alone espionage adventure thriller, RED MIST.
All books available in Audiobook and Kindle/ebook format.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2016Great followup book by SI Rosser. As with other books by Mr. Rosser, I can hardly wait for the next installment of this series.

This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. I still can't tell you what happened but it is world wide and few people have survived. There is a signal coming from the U.S. advising people to come to a specific location. Our survivors now have to find a way from the UK. Suspense, chills, and a good plot help this story along with the unpredictable nature of the ....! Well, I can't tell! Lol!
Narration is better this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2019This second book in the series takes the story a bit further along, but I was dissapointed to find it is not the end of the story... Where is book three? Promised by the author's note at the end of two, Ambers story was supposed to be continued in 2017... But according to the 'series page', there is only the two books... Where is Amber? Maybe she is hidden in one of his other series, but I am not sure if I want to risk reading anymore of his books if they are going to leave me hanging at the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2017I liked this story and I absolutely loved the first one. With that said, I had to rate this lower because the errors were too distracting. I am the furthest thing from an English major, but the mistakes were obvious. Using the wrong homophones or not capitalizing John half the time, were a bit much. On one page, there was a sentence break in mid thought as if the author accidentally hit the return button a couple times. A good suggestion is to have someone else read through your work before you self publish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast-paced/plenty of suspense!
Just finished this second instalment in the Vaporized series. The book starts exactly where the first left off, in the farmhouse in west wales, where things quickly go wrong! Amber and her new friend have to somehow escape over to the USA... Enough said! Fast-paced, punchy with plenty of suspense... A great follow up to the first book. A third instalment looks to be on the way!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed.
At first I wondered whether this was a rip-off of the film "Alien" or an homage to that film. Perhaps one of the characters is incubating an alien that will hatch just in time for the next book in the series. The ship is called "Nostrum"...
I am glad this book was free. It was awful. So many typographical errors, wrong name given to a character on one page, stilted dialogue, American "expletives" used throughout and Amber (female character) screams continually. Don't want to say too much and spoil it for others who may enjoy it, but this book really annoyed me for so many reasons. It started well but then there was much running about and hiding - over and over again. This made what could have been a good short story into a rather tedious book. The ending was odd, as well. Perhaps I was so bored by then that I missed something but it seemed somewhat abrupt.
The characters, who seemed to be English and Welsh, used curses such as "son - of - a - bitch", "critter" and "God-damn". I won't substitute the more usual English and Welsh curses as some people may find them offensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars about half way through and assuming the second half is as good as the first half I'd give it 10 out ...
Loving it, about half way through and assuming the second half is as good as the first half I'd give it 10 out of 10 and would wish there was a third half!
