Kevin David Anderson’s debut novel the geeky, cult zombie classic, Night of the Living Trekkies, from Quirk Books, the publisher of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, is a funny, offbeat Zombie novel that explores the pop culture carnage that ensues when the undead crash a Star Trek convention. Publishers Weekly gave Night of the Living Trekkies a starred review and the Washington Post listed it as one of the top five Zombie novels of 2010.
Night of the Living Trekkies and Anderson’s follow-up, Night of the ZomBEEs were required reading in college courses, most notably a class designed for incoming freshmen, How to Survive Your Freshman Year by Studying the Zombie Apocalypse, at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania.
Anderson’s short stories have appeared in almost a hundred publications, from anthologies and magazines to podcasts and radio dramas. His work has appeared in multiple languages and on every continent, excluding Antarctica - mostly because penguins and polar bears don’t read. Anderson was the first American to be published in the award-winning South African Horror Magazine, Something Wicked. He has contributed to many award-worthy publications including the British Fantasy Award-winning Magazine Murky Depths, and the Bram Stoker nominated anthology, The Beauty of Death from Independent Legions Publishing. Many of Anderson’s stories have been turned into audio productions with voice talents like Jason Hill, Rish Outfield, and Mur Lafferty, on Parsec Award-winning podcasts like Pseudopod, The Drabblecast, The Dunesteef and on the very popular Simply Scary Podcast and the No Sleep Podcast.
When not writing horror, comedy, or horror-comedy, Anderson likes spending time at the beach with his family, attending horror conventions and book festivals, and writing and telling bad, corny, nerdy jokes. Dad jokes with a geeky twist are his specialty and with the help of his son, he published The Geektastic Joke Book for Kids under the pseudonym, Giggles A. Lott and Nee Slapper. Giggles & Slapper have followed with STAR WARS: The Jokes Awaken, and JURASSIC JOKES: A Book 65 Million Years in the Making. STAR WARS: The Jokes AWAKEN was named one of the top 10 Star Wars gifts for kids by Best Deals For Kids (dot) com in 2020.
Anderson was born in Indiana, and currently lives and writes speculative fiction in Southern California. Before becoming a writer and active member of the HWA (Horror Writers Association), Anderson earned a B. A. in Mass Communication (TCOM) with a focus on Media Production from CSUF (Fresno State). He worked as a marketing professional for more than a decade, during which he managed award-winning campaigns for both television and radio. Currently, he is doing something much more rewarding. Anderson is a high school special education teacher.
Kenneth W. Cain is an author of horror and dark fiction, and a Splatterpunk Award nominated freelance editor. He is also the publisher and editor-in-chief at Crystal Lake: Torrid Waters. Cain is an Active member of the HWA and a Full member of the SFWA. To date, he has had over one hundred short stories and thirteen novels/novellas, as well as a handful each of nonfiction pieces, books for children, and poems released by many great publishers such as Crystal Lake Publishing, JournalStone, and Cemetery Gates Media. He has also edited ten anthologies, with a new one coming in 2024. Cain suffers from chronic pain, and as such, likes to keep busy. He lives in Chester County PA with his family and two furbabies, Butterbean and Bodhi. His full publishing history is available on his website.

Nicky has been published by Harper Collins, Canelo/ Hera, Simon & Schuster, Hachette and more. She co hosts a true crime meets thriller fiction podcast called The Red Rabbit Hole, and also runs a local writers' group to help new and established writers find their way in a turbulent publishing industry.
About her writing, Nicky says, ‘Entertaining readers is the best feeling in the world. Times are tough at the moment, so to be able to transport readers into someone else’s life and take them on a twisty journey makes all the time and effort I put into my books worthwhile.’

Araminta Star Matthews is an academic with scholarly publications in instructional design for artists and integration of AI in education, an artist and writer, an art educator, a professor of both graduate and undergraduate courses in a variety of subjects, and a senior eLearning designer. Her Renaissance background is a perfect blend for her genre, wellness, and academic works alike. Formerly the Associate Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies at Maine College of Art and Design, she is presently serving in multiple roles in higher education leadership across a variety of institutions. She has a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (a terminal degree in Fine Arts) as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the same discipline with minors in French and Gender Studies. She also holds certificates in instructional design, death doula services, life coaching, art-coaching, digital curation, career development facilitation, and teaching. In addition to writing, she has worked on countless online courses for both the private and public sector, developing and supporting the creation of instructional content for higher education courses. She also teaches Creative Writing, Introduction to Ethics, and Information Literacy for the University of Maine at Presque Isle online, Psychology for Kennebec Valley Community College, Graduate classes in Instructional Design and Project Management for the University of Maine and Methods of Teaching Art in the K-12 Classroom for the Maine Educator Consortium in collaboration with SNHU.
She began her writing career in the horror genre, writing young adult, supernatural fiction. While this genre still holds a place in her heart, she is moving toward more practical content, such as holistic wellness and personal development guides. She has coauthored with Stan Swanson and Dr. Rachel Lee to produce the alternative writing instructional guide, Write of the Living Dead, and she has recently worked with The Lune Innate to produce a crystal self-care and wellness book. Her most recent work focuses on applying folklore and myths of international goddesses to the work of self-healing and recovery, as well as genre works in the fields of supernatural romantic-mystery and historical fiction-mystery.
Because Araminta can't bring herself to sit still even for a moment, she spends the bulk of her time with her favorite human being (her child and kindred spirit ginger-mini) and the rest of her spare time (when she is not teaching or writing or editing) playing MMORPG's, reading (mostly classics), making art, serving nonprofits, and inventing. She is also a lifelong learner and routinely takes courses in disciplines that interest her, including priestess services, death doula services, art coaching, life coaching, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, yoga teaching, crystal healing certification, Reiki, web development, animation, and digital curation.
I am the editor-in-chief for Dark Moon Digest as well as the co-owner of Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing. I am the single mother of two children and spend a majority of the time trying to keep my 11 year old from hitting the dog in the face. During my spare time (I really have some?) I dabble in graphic art and use that knowledge to make business cards. logos and flyers for people who need something more creative than the norm. I like to write short stories and have been published in several anthologies, including the Bram Stoker nominated Slices of Flesh and Qualia Nous.
My author website, which is very infrequently updated is www.lorimichelleauthor.com. My professional website is www.TheAuthorsAlley.com. I can typically be found roaming the wall of Facebook.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2012Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThere is enough of a variation in this selection of horror stories to appeal to just about anyone who truely believes that there are indeed thirsty blood-suckers among us. Just the coverart, alone, is worth the purchase thanks to Shawn Conn, who did the front cover and Claire Beard, who did the back cover (of which is a three-part illustration when put back to back with Dark Moon presents: GHOSTS! and Dark Moon presents: ZOMBIES!.
Some of my favorites were:
"Green Eyes and Chili Dogs" by Kevin Anderson about a couple of old truckers on a mission to destroy vampires
"Ordering Out" by Kenneth W. Cain about a shut-in vampire with OCD who only eats home delivered takeout
"The Spy Who Bit Me" by Lorelei Bell, a fun fast-paced espionage romp
"To The Last Drop" by Eric Grawe with a strange twist on the vampire genre
"Tough Love" by David Thomas about an Elder vampire passing on some advise to a younger vampire...after reading this, and getting this insight, could the author David Thomas, actually be a vampire?
And many more...
This is a worthwhile collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 29, 2012Format: PaperbackAnother great vampire story from this talented young author.
Rodney and his girlfriend, Jackie, brave the vampires' den to rescue the dogs which the vampires have captured and are using as a source of food.
This exciting teen story is told with Ms Hall's usual fluency and style. I was captivated from the start.
Keep it up, Tara. I can't get enough of your stories
