    This book brings you into the mind of an amazing artist. You also get to know about his family and the culture of that era. Reading his letters helps you understand his character, and you begin to appreciate more of Van Gogh’s brilliant work with insight to his mental, physical and financial struggles. The author does an excellent job of giving you a new perspective of the challenges Van Gogh experienced during his lifetime. Obviously, this writing required lots of time and effort analyzing this intriguing artist. A recommended read for all Van Gogh fans!
