    After reading this story, and then reading the book's blurb once again, I couldn't help but ask: is it really torture if the person being tortured sorta likes it? After reading the author's version of a trigger warning, you will know right away that identifying the villains and the heroes will undoubtedly be more than a little bit difficult.

    And that's one of Author Cari Silverwood's strongest writing points. She refuses to make a straightforward fantasy story, because what's the fun in that? She writes characters that are never black or white; never good or bad; never liars or honest. They are somewhere in between, questioning their own morals while they find their way during a quest or fight to save lives they grow to care about. In Vedrock, the characters are varied with fascinating backgrounds. Author Silverwood merges them in a gang that is worthy of Lord of the Rings, while adding smart machinery that just might have a soul.(!!)

    Oh, the descriptions of the planet Osirii is stunning. Author Silverwood writes with style and creativity. I feel like I'm transported to the scene when I read paragraphs such as these:

    "The hours wore by, and dusk sneaked in on muted colors and long shadows. Winged creatures flew over in flocks, heading toward the mountain range. Blurred by distance and dust, abandoned towns and the serrated silhouettes of skyscrapers drifted by to left and right. We rode over the half-buried surfaces of disused roads made for heavy traffic, and passed weathered, unreadable signposts."

    "If anyone had touched this place in the last twenty years, it could not be discerned. The grass was high, the trees overgrown, the metal fence was rusty and broken in places. We squeezed through a gap. Luckily, the internal road was surfaced and that had held out, though plants sprouted through the cracks."

    While the motley crew moves through Osirii, they all grow closer and secrets are revealed. Jinx and Vedrock become very close, and the scenes with them are not only 🔥, but enlightening on what has erupted over the universe that changed many people.

    There are some very interesting concepts drawn out in this novel, heck in this series that Author Silverwood wrote. I don't wish to spoil anything important, but I thoroughly enjoyed THINKING as well as reading the books. I will end this review with my favorite line from this book, which I found so very true.

    "Violence and evil, and love and goodness, are imbedded in every intelligent creature."

    we've seen Vedrock and Jinx in the other books, so I'm really excited to get their story.

    Vedrock has captured Jinx, and is positive that she's a spy, and he's going to get her to admit it, no matter what. Some of that torture sounds like a lot of fun to me, but anyway. He isn't just torturing her, he's also fascinated by her because she's an omega and he's an alpha.

    Jinx does have secrets, but she's not going to tell Vedrock anything, no matter how many orgasms he gives her.

    I have to admit, I was fully set up to not like Vedrock, but he grew on me as the book went on. I won't say that he's my bestest bud or anything, but I liked him.

    I do really like Jinx. She is very smart, I think. I think that she and Vedrock are going to be a power couple to not be effed with.

    I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Ravaged series from Cari Silverwood and Vedrock is no exception. She has created some of the most interesting and memorable aliens in this sci-fi trilogy.

    This story centers around Vedrock, the Commander of the starship Social Deviance, and his current captive Jinx aka “Kittie.” Both have been affected by the singularity burst that has created Alphas and Omegas across countless galaxies.

    Vedrock has sadistic tendencies especially when it comes to sex and torture. Unfortunately for Jinx, she is his current victim as he seeks to get information from her. Before he is able to acquire anything useful, enemies from Vedrock’s dubious past known as Ghost Assassins come looking for him and he finds himself on the run with Jinx. He decides the safest place to go and hideout is his childhood home on the planet Osarii.

    This is where the real fun begins as Vedrock and Jinx begin their journey, they are joined by an awakened mechling named Sherbot and his obedient second Raith. Once they reach Osarii, a Hinoch named Forrest volunteers to lead them safely across the planet to the Regat region where Ved’s home is.

    Along the way, Vedrock enjoys his “Kittie” in a variety of ways to satisfy his sadistic sexual tendencies and fetishes. There is definitely a lot of squelching, squishing, and slurping going on in this book!! The sex is a grab bag assortment that includes voyeurism, large appendages with spikes, toys, threesomes, exhibitionism, power exchanges, and a nasty little chastity belt with an extremely HOT way of opening it!! I also have to mention that I LOVE the various names Cari gave the starships. They are hilarious!!

    In the meantime, everyone in the group is harboring secrets within secrets that may have devastating consequences once they come to light. They all seem to get along but who do you put your faith in when it seems no one can be trusted? Will these secrets bring the group even closer together on their travels or tear them apart? No one is either good or bad, They just are who they are for better or worse. Even the planet itself is harboring a dark secret that will put a unique twist on the story.

    This story was a real page-turner for me because I love plot twists, secrets, and surprises. Vedrock definitely did not disappoint and I must confess that I’m a little sad to say goodbye but all great things must eventually come to an end. If you enjoy sci-fi romance with intrigue, well endowed aliens, hot sex, and robots, then look no further.

    Well this author has done it again!!! Vedrock is sadistic and into sexy, naughty games that will have a lasting impression on Jinx!! She sorta of loves everything he does to her so that makes it hard for him to be the baddy! Lots of very imaginative kinky sex, oh my😱😱😜😜! New worlds, great characters, danger, action and a thrilling and entertaining story you will have to read for yourself to truly appreciate it!!
