4.3 out of 5 stars 1,997 ratings

A steamy AGE GAP Italian Mafia STANDALONE

This mafia king has sworn off love. Then he meets me.
It starts as an interview.
The mafia king needs brides for his brothers.
An arranged marriage to bind our families.
He sees the bruises I wear.
He wants to protect me.
He demands to be obeyed.
But when he puts his hands on me...
I find my resistance is futile.
Each time I push him away, it's with weaker hands.
He's taken my innocence, but I can't let him take...
My heart.

Vow to the King is a spicy mafia romance featuring an older, possessive man and an innocent female main character. This dark mafia romance features no cheating, no cliffhangers, and concludes with a happy ending. The book can be read as a fully standalone novel, as the prequel to the Brand New Sinbound Vows series or the first in the Mafia Romance series.

Editorial Reviews

From the Inside Flap

I have nowhere else to go. This mafia king might be harsh, controlling, demand obedience, and be quick to punish, but he's not like my father or Antonio who are ruled by their tempers. Liam told me that I can trust him, and I believe him.

Does it even matter if I can't trust him?

I have no one else.

"We found you gone, and I went looking for you. Now, put your hand in mine and I will take you home and show you what it means to disobey a Bachman man." He holds out his hand, big and strong but controlled.

What do I do?

Run further into the woods? Go back to my father's only to be backhanded, a matching bruise on the other cheek, and sent away a second time?

Or...

Do I put my hand in his?

He's patient. Holding his hand out. Steady. Open. Waiting.

"Emilia. Now, please. Don't make me wait. That would be rude, and I don't have patience for it. I despise rudeness."

The command in his tone makes my hand lift in the air. He wants my consent, my submission. I place my hand in his. He wraps his fingers around mine, sealing my fate.

He lifts my hand to his mouth, brushing his lips over my skin. "There's a good girl. Come with me. I'll show you where I take you when you've been bad."

Vow to the King is a new dark Bachman Mafia romance that looks like it sets off a new spin off series! Emilia has grown up as a princess in her mafia family, but has always dreamed of a different life. When Liam finds her, he thinks she’d be the perfect candidate as a wife for his brothers, but he can’t get her off of his mind. They quickly learn that actions have consequences in their world, and what feels like an escape could lead to a trap. Can they find trust and love from their situation?

Wow, okay, this book was just great! I felt like I was taken into this whirlwind of emotion, from passion to rejection, from fear to acceptance, and from heartache to love. This book was perhaps a little darker than some of the previous Bachman books, but I loved seeing some of the same elements that you would find in Ms. Handel’s other books. I really loved Emilia and Liam, loved their struggles and the ways they found peace and comfort in the other. Emilia was an interesting character for me. I really liked her and felt like I could relate to a lot of her emotions. But I loved that she grew and needed to accept her life as it had been dealt to her, within the mafia life, as a wife, and all of the responsibilities that comes with her life. She grew, and had the stern hand of her man to help her. Liam was dominant, in charge, and despised rudeness. I liked how he responded to some of Emilia’s sassy side, and I loved how he couldn’t get her out of his head. I liked them together! I loved their ups and downs and struggles to finding their happily ever after. And I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the Bachman world!

This is the story of Liam and Emilia. Liam is the oldest of his brothers. He’s decided that it’s time for them to marry plus strengthen their ties in Italy. As he does the interviews, the first one stands out, Emilia. He wants her but also is in denial. This story is the push and pull of Liam not wanting her but not wanting anyone else, much less his brothers, to touch her. Emilia is sick of the caged mafia life. She wants out but with no friends, money, or way/place to go she’s stuck. Liam absolutely infuriates her after their first encounter. She thinks he’s a monster and wants nothing to do with him. She doesn’t want to marry at all. Between different events, she begins to see him differently, then he breaks her heart.
I didn’t mind this story, but it got too be a little long before Liam actually started to realize that he wanted Emilia for himself. It’s told dual POV and the epilogue is the beginning of the next book. There is some triggers so be warned.

This series just keeps on giving. And I enjoyed the build-up and plot twist
throughout. The push and pull between Liam and Emilia, combined with
the searing connection, made for some mind-blowing scenes. The candid
portrayal of this couple as they struggled with their feelings for each
other was well thought out. I feel that once Liam and Emilia stopped fighting
their feelings, they helped heal each other from past hurts but how Emilia
    enjoyed pushing Liam’s buttons.

Emilia was no shrinking violet and had no intentions of being used to forge
a relationship between two Mafia families, but running off with Liam was
    bound to start a war.

Liam had no intentions of getting married and was only interested in Emilia
as a potential wife for one of his brothers, but fate was a funny creature.
He did everything in his power to fight his attraction to Emilia but to no
    avail. Their fate was sealed.

This book had a different feel and had a darker edge with moments of
brutality. The secondary characters from previous books appeared and
added depth to the storyline. If this is a taste of what
to expect from the Italian side of the Bachman family, then we are in for
    a treat.

I read a Book sometime back, could have been 3 books... that I actually read but it was also about the Bachman family and How they formed a brotherhood in Ny and an Island ...

The Bachman Brotherhood was expanding into Italy and Liam Bachman was the leader destined to organize the expansion.
The Brotherhood consists of his four blood brothers and three Russo brothers.
Liam had a tragedy in his life when he was younger and decided he would never marry...
He was looking to find wives for his seven brothers when he ran upon a young lady running at night on a dark road in the woods. ... Even tho he knew who she was he stopped and asked why she was out running at night and so late at that .....he told her little girls should be home and turned her around to go home and told he better not catch her out running by herself in the woods....
Liam had benefits with the widow Russo ... (if you catch that meaning ).
The next day he had an interview to vet women for his brothers when Emilia came through the door. Emilia was the only daughter and the youngest with four brothers who basically abused her as well as her father. Her father wanted to marry her off to the highest bidder.

Liam felt he needed to protect Emilia but he wasn’t looking for a wife... A lot goes on and the names of the people from the previous books I read are mentioned.... so Now I have to find those books to re read and get caught up as to why it took so long to have more books ....

This book is good I did Like it .... Looking forward to reading the next book in the series “Mafia Fire”..... But definitely not before i re read the books that started this Bachman family mafia type story ....

This is an absolutely wonderful story to read. Liam has risen though the ranks to now become king, and Emilia is a mafia Princess who has been brought up by her brothers in a house which is now falling asleep apart. Emilia dosnt want to get married, but their actions have consequences. But it dosnt take long before they both realise that they really do have feelings for each other.
A must read book in my opinion.

There wasn’t a lot of conflict, no big game changers, it was relatively smooth sailing, which was kind of good for a change. I like this book, whether or not I’m going to read it again, I don’t know but for now 3/5 xx

I really, really liked the start of this book. Two very conflicted people reluctantly starting a relationship fraught by problems. She didn’t want to ever again be under the control of men and he was deathly afraid of again losing someone he loves. All was interesting until they are basically forced to get married to stop a mafia war. Then I found the story ho hum as it mostly was a repeat of other Bachman stories, same wedding procedure, same Beauties setting up events, same Bachman vows. It started out so well then for me became boring.
