- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2015Just Finished up both book 1 and 2 of this series. I have to say I really enjoyed them. I think the way the characters come across are very age appropriate. I don't know any high school student that makes 100% reasonable and smart decisions all the time, and the author does a great job of translating those teenage emotions in this book. I do think a few parts were a bit drawn, but that is to be expected I guess when the main characters are both off on their own for most of this book, so overall I really think this book hit the mark.
The main character Kennedy is adjusting to life after being raped. In book one she was sweet happy and somewhat silent. Because of things that have happened to her, her character seems more grounded to me. She has different shades to her, she is still sweet and happy, but she stands up for herself, she is strong , and at times she gets angry. I really liked her angry. I liked everything about her. Some may complain that the 2 main character aren't together much in this book, but I really loved it. It showed how different relationships teach you different things, and they help mold you into a new and better person. You take the good you learned from your past and apply it to the future. The main character were not mature enough in book 1 to go the distance together. I love how this book showed their individual growth. I really hope that there will be a 3rd book. This book really was a fun, easy, and enjoyable book to escape into. If you ever need a beta reader, I would LOVE to be picked, because this is going on my favorite top 10 books I have read this year. Which is saying alot because I have read roughly 200 books this year.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2019Oh man. I'm not sure who I wanted to win Kennedy's heart, Mark or Graham. They both are exactly what she needs but in a completely opposite way. Mark is the dependable, strong shoulder you can always count on to be there for you. The guy who is going to help you when you need it most. Graham is the one Kennedy's heart truly desires but she just can't seem to let go. How do you choose between your heart and your head??
This is a great story of epic love and wrong timing.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2024Man....I am speechless. This series has a chokehold on me. How are more people not talking about it? I don't understand. Any words I have aren't enough to describe how I feel about this series. Infinity stars. On to book 3!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2016Although I enjoyed 'When Our Worlds Fall Apart', I did find it a bit tedious in the middle. I understand that the hero felt he was benefitting the heroine, but it started to drag on and on, and I kept thinking, 'Get on with it, already.' The ending wasn't all that satisfying, either. Although it could be considered a happy ending, it mostly left the reader hanging. There's no news of another book in the series, so I'm assuming the reader is supposed to decide what eventually happens for themselves. All in all, it was a good read just not one of the best.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2015Kennedy shows such remarkable strength in this book. She tries so hard not to allow what "he" did rule over her life. She has to be the most understanding and open minded young adult I've ever come across.
Graham has slid back into his old ways by blaming himself for all the bad in Kennedy's life. While I understood his reasons I didn't like it one bit. These two are meant to be together.
I'm going to be honest I had a hard time reading this because I just didn't get why they were putting themselves through all this but than I slept on it and it came to me there has to be growth and strengthening of their relationship so they can move on and past the craptastic stuff that's happened.
Well I could be wrong maybe that's not what Lindsey was getting at when she wrote this part of their love story but that's what I'm feeling. And isn't that the point to FEEL??
Speaking of feels Holy Hells Bells!! I had tears so many times for Kennedy for Graham for Violet even it can't be easy trying to help your BFF get through something that horrific.
I'm curious about the ending but something stuck out at me but I'll keep that to myself. I'm hoping IF I'm right well.. we'll see what Lindsey puts Grenndy through in book 3 :)
I loved this book and cannot wait for book 3!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 20185 BROKEN HEART STARS!! This is the second book in the series and my heart is still hurting for Graham and Kennedy. They are both so broken, but love each other so much. Their connection is so strong you can feel it through the pages. This love story was painful, but beautifully written by Lindsey Iler. If you have not started this series I highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2019I do really like this series. The books could use some editing, but the story is really really good. The characters are very well-developed and relatable. I’m not quite sure Graham has redeemed himself. Even though Kennedy doesn’t blame him for anything, I think he does carry some of the blame.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2019This book was amazing. Went in a completely different direction then I expected. Both characters grew from the last book. What Kennedy went through was horrible, but to see her grow and become stronger in her battles was fantastic. Graham matured and slowly became the person Kennedy had seen all along. Great read and I look forward to the next.

Anyone got the number for a good doctor? Someone who treats whiplash! My goodness what a lot of stop/start back and forth. It certainly kept us on our toes. Next book, please.
