    Cam and Eugie’s love story was sweet. But I do have one complaint about the series. Why wasn’t there any mention of Emilia’s pregnancy? She should be pretty far along by now. And why did this book refer to Deveraux Winter's finding husbands for his five sisters. When the book was written before his youngest sister was married, but there was no mention of her husband in this book. Since it is a series, shouldn't there be some cohesion between each book? After all, it is called the Wicked Winters.

I was aware that WANTON IN WINTER would be steamy, and while the sexy times did not bother me - the numerous intimate scenes are beautifully and tastefully done - but I felt that as a consequence, the romance suffered a little bit. Their relationship seems built mostly on lust and physical attraction; we know them through conversations they have with respectively his best friend and her sister and sister-in-law, but we don't see them talking much to each other about things that matter. I did actually find rather amusing that Eugie really is wanton when given the chance. But they were really cute together, even all overcome with lust.

    The writing is gorgeous; flowing, airy, and witty; the bright and lively descriptions bring forth a crisp picture of the English countryside and the mansion is filled with intriguing characters. WANTON IN WINTER is a very enjoyable Regency romp devoid of the angst I had feared initially because of the set-up; problematic matters are settled intelligently and without any unpleasantness.     I really liked the first book in the series and found the second entertaining. I had a hard time getting into this one. It started out explaining Eugenia’s back
    story and explained how cynical she had become, didn’t trust handsome men anymore and was determined to protect her sisters. The rest of the book then portrayed, in detail, just how stupid she was. I will continue with the series just hope the next one is better.

    This is a sexy Regency romance. It has plenty of angst but lots of chemistry between the hero and heroine. Cam is the “Prince of Proper”. He is an impoverished earl who is looking to marry an heiress to help him replenish his coffers and take care of his estates that his father squandered. Eugie is an heiress whose reputation was ruined when a previous suitor decided to spread gossip about her. Her brother is trying to marrying her off including her sisters so he throws a house party. Cam and Eugie meet and sparks fly. He believes the gossip and deems her unsuitable and she thinks that he is full of himself and a fortune hunter. They are a passionate duo and their love scenes are hot. You feel for her for the pain she has gone through because of the rumors spread about her and you root for him once he discovers his true feelings for Eugie. I love Scarlett Scott’s books and this was no exception. It had the hallmarks of her books: a headstrong and passionate heroine, a stubborn and handsome hero, very sexy love scenes and a swoony ending. This was a great read.

    I agree it's a Novella so the scope of character fleshing is less, yet I would prefer author reducing sex scenes and adding more interactions between H and h so that the readers are convinced that there is not just lust but love also. Having said this, the story is good wherein we have a H who has clean reputation yet penniless. He is looking for heiress with good reputation. Enter h, who is heiress yet has ruined reputation, falsely accused when a baron fails to get his hands on her fortune. Neither of them are each other's preference for a life partner yet they are attracted towards each other. This is quick read. Overall good book

    I found this story to be an entertaining read. I did like the characters of Cameron and Eugenia. Cam had been known always to do the right action in any situation but getting to know Eugie, had him behaving out of character. Unfortunately Eugie had been ruined by unfounded rumours about her character. She would not be suitable for his countess, even though he needed money for his estates. The sister’s banter was amusing and there were some very steamy moments. I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series.
