    Chloe always believe in true love into her own father betrayed her mother in the worst way possible then after that she had to watch her mother slowly giving up on life because of , after that Chloe swear she would never allow someone in her heart and do that to her she was afraid of going thru the same thing as her own mother. Zac is no stranger to loss he suffer a tremendous one by losing the love of his life and for 4 years he has been all alone just focusing on his job into Chloe comes crashing down on his path. I’m sooo happy that Zac got a second chance on finding love again it was not easy for him to convince Chloe to give them a change but once she did they realize how much stronger there where together and how much love they really had for each other

    When Zac met his wife Laurie he knew that they were meant to be however life had other plans and she was taken way tool soon. Devastated by his loss he can’t imagine giving his heart to another woman until a fiery tornado name Chloe enters his life.

    When Chloe was a child she believed in love and happy ever after however her past has shown her that it doesn’t exist. She is determined to never let a man get close enough to hurt her but that doesn’t mean she can’t have fun.

    From the moment they meet the chemistry between them is off the charts, but Chloe is determined that they friends is all they can ever be, but can Zack convince her that he is the one man she can trust with her heart?

    This an emotional story about two people who have been damaged by their pasts but in each other find a way to heal and a new beginning. It is sad to see this series end, but I have enjoyed everyone of the Southern Heroes.

    Chloe and Zac’s story was good. I expected more of a hang up for Zac but I guess he was ready to move on without Laurie. Granted Chloe was different but I think she was ready too. It was a nice story. I am so glad they got Pastor Doug. I realize he saved Birdie but still being involved in the drug dealing he had to know of the other people he was hurting. Glad they finally got him. Birdie needed to understand what he was doing. I am sad because now I have to move to the final book in this series. Wyatt’s story has still been the best

    I will admit I have been waiting for the story since book one of this series and it was definitely worth the wait!

    Zac Hutches filled my heart with so much emotion when he was first introduced and still does really. A love like he had for Laurie, his first wife, is all consuming but in a good way. He so deserved to find true happiness again and all along I was delighted with the idea of he and Chloe Jordaan becoming more than friends. She is a character that you can’t help but like immediately, I liked her in the first book and instantly fell in love with her again in this one.

    This book has just about everything to wrap up a terrific series; a romance that isn’t straight forward and has you barracking for the lead characters to get off their behinds and move forward 😂, loads of different emotions that have you laughing one minute and on the edge of your seat the next, a great suspense story and drama with action to boot and revisiting of all the wonderful characters we’ve come to enjoy.

    This is a wonderful story, I’m just a tad sad the series has ended as it really was so good.

    So this is yet another rollercoaster of an emotional ride of a book, this wasn’t my favourite of the series if I am being totally honest but still one heck of a read. These two are both broken souls wanting to escape the hurt of the past.

    Chloe has decided there is nothing left in her old life in South Africa to stay for, her mother has died and her relationship with her father is broken beyond repair. Starting somewhere new is just what she needs and when Emma and Aiden offer her a haven of staying with them while she decides on the path that she wants to take, as a trained nurse she should be able to find work anywhere. She is immediately drawn to Zac, the sadness in his eyes but she couldn’t possibly want more with him especially after what she has witnessed men do in the name of love, but can she resist the feelings he brings out in her and when she is in real danger will she realise that love does exist?

    Zac has spent years mourning the death of his wife, knowing that he has lost his heart for it never to return he continues with his life throwing himself into his work as a detective. The last thing he ever expected was for Chloe to enter his world, there is something about her from the moment that they meet that he wants to heal but she is fighting the feelings at every point. Is Zac prepared to fight for love and for Chloe or is he destined to lose another woman who he could love?

    When I say that this is a rollercoaster I mean be prepared for heartbreak, loss, drama, danger, healing and love. These two characters have experienced loss and together they can heal. Each book has had me embroiled in emotions that I wasn’t expecting and I might need a holiday to recover but I would re read these books again with absolutely no hesitation. These books are by no means safe and lovey dovey but one heck of a read. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 5* series and book.
