- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2024Now this book in the series gave a twist to it. Enjoyed that! What I enjoyed the most was that the twist happened fast and was not drawn out. And all the characters from previous books was in this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2020I enjoyed reading this story tremendously; I think it's the last book in this series. This was Weston's (grizzly shifter) and Cora's (human woman) story, both the main characters and the secondary ones were likeable. Spoiler(s): Cora's father was the bad guy. His father killed Weston's best friend, Beth, during the war between humans & shifters years ago. Then Weston killed him. Cora's father was 12 when this occurred but he blamed shifters for his father's death and that drove him crazy. Then his wife(?), Cora's mother, turned out to be the mate of a shifter and left with the shifter when Cora was a little girl (maybe 5?), which made him even worse. I will say I wish there was more of a backstory about Cora's mother & father. Was Cora's mother unhappy with her father (abuse/his craziness/was she really married to him, etc.) and that's why she could leave him & Cora for her fated mate? Would've been nice to know something. Now Cora is 33, she meets Weston when he's kidnapped by her father and others who think the same way he does and is brought to the lab in bear form. Cora then determined to do what she could to save him. I should also mention that Weston thought Beth was his mate but didn't know for sure because she was 16 when she was killed and Weston was19; shifters don't know who their mates are until they turn18 and because he thought she was his mate, he became sort of aloof with everyone from that point on. The sex was hot though not the main focus. Cora and her mother were reunited at the end. Turns out Cora's mother's mate is the head of an alliance of shifters fighting against humans who think shifters should be wiped off the face of the planet. It also turns out that Cora's mother did come back for her but by that time, her father had disappeared with her. I liked the epilogue and the fact that this author usually includes one in her books. There were several grammatical errors.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2020I've been impatiently waiting for Weston's story. But I must say that I've loved reading about the other Walker men finding their mates.
Weston has been living his life thinking that he had lost his mate when he was 18. Barely living he went through his days believing that he would never have a mate. When he was captured he hoped for the end, so that he wouldn't have to continue living in the dark. But then there is her scent, his mate, could he have finally found her.
Cora has been stying to herself for as long as she can remember. After her mother left her family for a shifter she has always had a hard time letting people in. But there is something about the bear/man that they just brought for her to work on. She knows that there is something different about him, she's drawn to him. She knows that she has to get him out of there and away from her father.
Both had heartbreaking pasts, and doubts about their mating, but the mating bond was stronger. They both had to work through the bumps and uncertainty to get to their Forever. But once they've completed the mating bond they had both completely fallen for the other. They definitely made the perfect pair.
Absolutely loved this series, and I'm sad to see it completed. Hopefully we'll see them all again in future books to come.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2021What a fantastic end to the series. Weston, who had felt for a long time his life is over, is grasping a new life with Cora with both hands - paws; and Cora, who's been raised by her deranged, shifter-hating father, has trouble trusting anyone, especially their capacity to accept or even love her. Their story wraps up the series beautifully. Leigh hits every note from Cora's understandable insecurity to Weston's fight for happiness -finally, their bonding and need for each other, and the pack's acceptance of her.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2020I spent this entire series wondering how Weston's story was going to go, I envisioned it a million different ways I can honestly say I did not see this coming. Elisa really does have a way with words.
I loved how Weston and Cora's lives had actually been intertwined for years as if they were fated to be on this path. Which actually makes sense of seeing as how they are fated mates lol.
I really loved that Cora was a brilliant woman with a very educated background and an amazing career. I just find strong woman to be some of my favorites to read.
I really enjoyed this entire series, I'm sad to see it end but I know this is a cast of characters that I will be visiting over and over again in the future.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2020Another good shifter story by Ms. Leigh. This story went in a completely different direction than I thought it would when reading the previous books in this series. I still enjoyed it, fated mates, each others one and only, no abuse, epilogue about 10 years later.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect
This series ended perfectly . I'm sad this was the last book I'm going to miss these gorgeous Alpha bear shifters .
Weston and Cora were made for each other I loved their story and like I said I'm sad that this is the end. But I will definitely be doing a re-read in the not to distant future.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gripping End to an Enjoyable Bear Shifter Romance Series
I have loved the ‘New Hope Shifters’ series and getting to know all the fiercely protective bear shifters and the feisty women who are their fated mates, and I was definitely not disappointed by this last book in the series. This was Weston and Cora’s story and it was a real page turner. Weston believes that his fated mate is already dead and so is shocked when his bear scents his real mate, Cora. Cora is equally surprised to be a bear shifters mate as she had been bought up by her father to believe they are dangerous and her mother left her for a shifter making her suspicious of them. However, she can not deny the instant chemistry between them, which literally sizzles off the page. Although the couple meet in difficult and dangerous circumstances neither can resist the mate bond. I loved Weston and Cora and I was cheering them on hoping they would get their happy ever after and I really felt for them both. I also loved having a ‘catch up’ with the characters from the previous books as it was like being back amongst old friends. Elisa Leigh has made the characters and the setting really come alive through her wonderfully descriptive narrative. The fast paced storyline and exciting plot, which has plenty of drama and twists kept me happily turning the. The romance and steamy scenes all add to the overall story. I found this to be an exciting and enjoyable read, and am a little sad that it is the last book in the series.
