One man’s temper may be the other’s salvation.

Dillon Thornewent from almost getting kicked out of the Army to being a revered member of a Special Forces unit. When his commanding officer orders him on a protection detail, it’s the last thing he wants to do. He’s a weapons expert, not a babysitter.

Luke Rhine worked his way up through the Army and retired as a general. Life should have been smooth sailing. Only, things aren’t going as well as he’d like. For one, someone wants him dead. For another, he’s attracted to the soldier who’s assigned to his protection detail, and damn if he doesn’t want to kiss that smirk off Dillon’s face.

Dillon is such a gorgeous man and so full of passion, he just needed a right man to bring it out in him; and he did! Lucas, a sexy older man 14 yrs dillons senior, but sexy as sin. He keeps waiting for Dillon to come around, but gets tired of it and initiates the first move, and from there .... nothing but hot love! These two men show each other live and understanding..:: it’s an amazing book to read! A must have for future reads too.

    I have read 1-5 of Code of Honor Books and have enjoyed all of them. First time I have read these kinds of books, but the characters are well written and story line is believable.
    I do wish that when a book is written the book number should be with the title as I do not like having to locate the next book by just the title.

    I love this author's writing. Her books are always exciting and intense. This book is the fifth in the Code of Honor series and while it was very good, I didn't feel that it was as strong as the other four. Dillon and Luke were not together with Dillon fighting the attraction, then, suddenly they were together with Dillon having an epiphany. It just seemed a bit rushed to me. Don't get me wrong, I thought Dillon and Luke were a terrific couple and, once they were together, they were together if you know what I mean. I really liked the character of Eric, Luke's stepson, and it was painful to see how young and unsure of himself he was. I felt so sorry for him and wanted to hug him and tell him it was going to be okay. I would also have very much liked to see more of Dillon and Luke in their actual relationship and know more about the animal rescues Luke had going on at the ranch. I'm hoping to see Beckett and Holden's story soon.

This installment focuses on Dillion, a military man with baggage and a quick temper, and Luke, a rich General with baggage of his own. Dillion is put on babysitting duty when someone tries to kill Luke. There's an instant connection between she two, however the emotions and threats on Luke's life keep getting in the way.
    I really do enjoy how this author tells a story. There is always a good balance of romance and action to keep you interested in reading to the end. The author also has away with characters. You will want to be invested in the outcome of their story.
    There are a couple of small typos. Nothing that can't be brushed over for most people. I would suggest absolutely reading this book but although it can be a stand alone its better with the others.

    Luke and Dillion are so in love, but Dillion thinks is anger issues will keep Luke from accepting him, plus he is not in the same class as the General. I don’t want to give all the things they grow through while someone is trying kill the General and a step son added in the mix. Can’t wait to read the next book.

    This story has a central theme of temper and how a bad one can impact a person’s life if not treated. Dillon’s relationship with Luke reflects this tension and it is interesting to see how this issue works itself out in an emergency situation. A new dog, Cricket, is introduced, and the military units see action with loan sharks and a mysterious shooter. I enjoyed this novel, especially all the interesting people in it, and love the framework of acceptance of gay relationships in a close knit group of Special Forces soldiers.
