Looking back, I should have seen the signs. Perhaps I did, but I subconsciously chose to ignore them.

From the time I was ten, when I first met Dylan, I knew he was my forever guy. Back then, I couldn’t put words to what I was feeling, but, as the years progressed, I came to recognize it for what it was—soul-deep love. The kind only very few people ever get to experience.

Dylan was more than just my best friend, my childhood sweetheart, my lover. He was my soul mate. We were carved from the same whole—destined to be together forever.

Until he changed.

And I believed I was no longer good enough.

Until he shattered me so completely, it felt like I ceased to exist.

And I’d never experienced such heart-crushing pain.

Until he leveled me a second time, and I truly wanted to die.

But I had to stay strong because I wasn’t alone in this cruel twist of fate.

I look to the sky, pleading with the stars, begging someone to tell me what I should do because I don’t know how to deal with this. I don’t know how to cope when my forever has changed, and I can’t help wondering if I had seen the signs earlier, if I’d pushed him, would it have been enough to save us?

Or had fate already decided to alter our forever?

Due to mature content and potential triggers this book is only recommended to readers over the age of eighteen. Thee ris a content list on the author's website. This is the first book in a duet, although both books can be read as standalone romances as they focus on different couples.

From the Author

Excerpt - Gabby:
A throat clearing alerts me to my brother's presence. My eyes fly to the door, and Ryan is there, lounging against the wall, gaze narrowed as he watches us.

"Morning,"I croak, wincing at how hoarse my voice sounds.

"What the hell's going on, Gabby? And why is Slate in your bed?"

"Technically, he's not," I say, unsuccessfully attempting to extricate myself from his grip."He's on
top of my bed."

At that moment, Slater, very unhelpfully, decides to nuzzle into my neck. A satisfied moan slips from his lips, and he blatantly inhales, rubbing his nose in my hair. "Mmm, you smell good," he murmurs in a sleep-laced tone, pressing his morning wood against my ass. I can't stop the whimper that escapes my mouth in time, and Ryan turns a very unflattering shade of red. If his jaw clenches any tighter, he'll give himself lockjaw.

"This is not what it looks like," I rush to assure him before he loses it. "And nothing happened, so there's no need to go apeshit on Slate."

"Someone better start explaining," Ryan grumbles, and Slater stills behind me, slowly coming to.

"Ryan, dude. Stop freaking out," Slater says after a tense minute of silence, his voice drenched with sleep. "I was only consoling Belle. That's it. No need to look at me like you want to rip my head from my body."

"That's not the only part of your anatomy I'd like to dismantle right now," my brother growls, slanting thunderous looks in Slater's direction.

"Seriously, chill, bro." Slater scoots away from me, and I instantly feel cold. I lie flat on my back as he swings his legs out the other side of the bed. Resting his elbows on his knees, he yawns. Thank God, he's wearing a tank and sweats and that he's hiding the evidence of his arousal until he's gotten himself under control. The last thing I need is Ryan jumping to conclusions.

DO. NOT. MISS. THIS. BOOK!!!!!
When Forever Changes was truly outstanding! I loved this book. The more I have read Siobhan Davis, the more I love her stories! When Forever Changes is sexy, super angsty, sweet, funny… my list could just go on and on, so I will just stop there. BUY THE BOOK! This is a story that will undoubtedly pull your heartstrings! I cried while reading this book—I cried repeatedly! And I don’t cry easily or often but this book definitely got to me. My husband told me I was a “hot mess” when I finished this book, and he was absolutely right. I am not even sure that I am going to adequately convey all the reasons you need this book in your life. I mean, first, because I REFUSE to post spoilers, so this review is going to be vague. Additionally, because sometimes it’s best to leave the writing to the authors since they are the masters after all… and my skills instead lay in my ability to just express as emphatically as possible how much I loved the book through this review and by promoting When Forever Changes on social media. Since my blog schedule was really tight this month, I could not jump into this one the minute it hit my kindle, and dang… that just ate at me. I was soooo ready for more of Siobhan Davis’ unique and inspired storytelling. I haven’t read a lot of her work, since she is a relatively new author for me—I know, I know, we’ve established that I must have lived under a rock until I became a blogger—but I have loved each book that I have been lucky enough to get my hands on. I found When Forever Changes to be a truly compelling read. I couldn’t have put it down if I tried and I stayed up all night long to finish it. The story is brilliant and perfectly paced. I would be remiss in not relaying that I found a few nuances of the book predictable; Yet, Siobhan Davis delivered them with a skilled approach that didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the book in the slightest. In fact, she wrote them so well that they actually made the book Without them, I honestly think the book wouldn’t have been nearly as incredible! For the life of me, there isn’t a single book in my memory that I have ever said that about! When Forever Changes is a second chance, new adult romance that was well written. This review is not going to name the hero and heroine since that would spoil the book. The story is written in dual perspectives so be prepared to get emotionally invested in the characters. While the hero’s perspective comes a little farther into the book, it comes nonetheless, and you will love the intensity his thoughts give to the plot. I more than loved these characters though—they were funny, sweet, sexy and had beautiful chemistry. They also are responsible for breaking me! I desperately wanted them to find their HEA but the path they traveled to find it was long and heart-wrenching, yet those facts made it even more richly deserved. In addition to loving the hero and heroine, the book offered amazing secondary characters that added texture to the story and some of whom I would love to see in their own books. As I said, I truly loved When Forever Changes. Siobhan Davis is an outstanding storyteller and I am already jonesing for my next read by her. Don’t pass up the chance to get your hands on this latest book… find out why so many of us are soo in-love with the story!!!

I have read quite a few from this author as she is a top ten fave! I am never disappointed in the feelings she invokes with her writing. A lot of people can write a book, but it takes someone truly special to write a book where you feel like you are truly living the story with the characters. I traditionally read darker romance because I like having feelings when I read. I will read a palate cleanser in between because dark can be really dark. I chose to read this because of the pretty cover and figured it would be a good read between the book I read before and what I chose next. I was wrong! In the best way! I should have known because like I said, I’ve read this author a lot.

I laughed, smiled, hoped, crossed fingers, cried, cried ugly tears, cried some more, chuckled, smiled, cried again, took a day off reading, cried again. Because why not right? And smiled all the way until the end! This book is worth more than five stars! It is written in such a way that you honestly feel like you are joining these characters from page one until the end! It delves into some hard feelings, hard situations. Watch your triggers and if you need to, take a day off reading. I did! The characters in this book are complex, they have a dynamic which is hard to explain but amazing. I would love a novela where we get to read what’s in the box. (Probably is one I haven’t looked). I will be diving into the next book. Praying the ugly tears can hold off during this read because my heart needs a break.

I really enjoyed the book and loved these characters. My emotions were all over the place happy, sad, laughing and crying. I could not stop thinking about these characters. I actually lost sleep just thinking about these characters and the journey they went through. This book has beautiful love stories and is wonderfully written. Recommend checking trigger warnings.

It’s funny how when you read a book, everyone comes away from it feeling differently or affected differently than everyone else. I read this book as a buddy read with Amber Hodges, a beautiful hearted person that I feel I got to know even better through this buddy read. She’s my chicky friend. Well, Amber and I had different feelings about this book when we finished. We both cried our hearts out, but for different reasons. Thanks for the buddy read, chicky friend, I enjoyed reading it with you so much! And thanks for putting up with all my ranting, raving, gushing, etc...comments. Poor Amber. She’ll probably never do another buddy read with me again!!

Ok..now about the book our wonderful, awesome, talented Siobhan Davis, wrote for us to read. The woman truly knows how to open her heart and bleed her words on to the pages. It’s the most beautiful experience there ever was. If you haven’t had a Siobhan Davis experience, you’re missing out.

For me the experience of the book was of a boy who loved a girl since he was very young, and she was younger, and she never took notice because she was in love with some one else. Heartbreaking...totally.

His name was, Slater. Her name was Gabrielle. But he called her Belle, and was the ONLY one who did. She was obsessed with Beauty and the Beast when she was little, and Slater used to tease her saying she wanted to be Belle for access to the library. But he was only partly right. She did daydream about being Belle, but she was no different than any young girl her age, and she wanted to be her for the prince. Not the books! Anyway, the name stuck, and Slater called her Belle ever since then.

She dated this other boy she loved, Dylan, for many years, until in college he began to change and they broke up. Her family was there for her, she had an amazing family. I really loved her family. And her brother Ryan, who she was very close to had her move in with him. Now Slater is Ryan’s best friend, has been since childhood, and a member of the family. He is one of Ryan’s roommates too. Slater wants to be there for Belle too.

"You’ll find someone amazing, Belle. Someone who sets your world on fire. Someone who appreciates how beautiful and special and intelligent and caring you are, and he’ll be the luckiest bastard because he’ll get to spend the rest of his life with you in it."

So Belle starts to realize she has feelings for Slater. Feelings that maybe were always there, but she didn’t notice because she was so in love with Dylan at the time. So they fall head over heels in love. So much passion, so much love.

"I’d do anything for you, Belle. Anything." Slater was loyal, devoted and totally in love with Belle. She meant the world to him.

Then there was news. Seemed like great news.
    Then there was a tragedy.
    Everything spiraling for Slater.

Can I just say I cried buckets for Slater....for SLATER!!! Yes, you heard me right!! It’s funny, but he is the character I identified with throughout this story.
And this is a long story. This isn’t one of your ok this happens, then this, then they lived happily ever after. Lol! This could have easily been two books full of DRAMA!!! When I say drama, I mean HEAVY DRAMA, EMOTIONAL, CRYING, SOBBING!!!!! Like I say, for me it was for Slater. But for someone else it could, and MOST LIKELY would have been for someone else!!!

After all is said and done about the crying, and who is crying for who. The thing of it is, the beauty of this story. Siobhan took to writing and opened her heart and poured it out and wrote a story that could affect us in this way. That could make some people cry for some characters and other people cry for other characters. I know she didn’t plan this, but when she opened her heart and bled on the paper, this is what happened. If she planned it too much, it wouldn’t have worked out this way.

This has been the hardest review I have ever written. I hope it’s not all over the place.

I highly recommend all Siobhan’s work!

I have never written a review for a book before but this one just had to have one. This was the most incredibly sad but beautiful book. I stayed up until the early hours of the morning reading this and crying. I’m so glad it has a happy ending because my poor heart couldn’t cope otherwise. Siobhan Davis has become one of my favourite authors after reading the Mafia series and this book even though worlds apart is no different. Amazing must read!

So I understand all the reviews about crying, I sobbed 😭 as well, repeatedly. The story of Gabby, Dylan and Slater is truly heart wrenching at times!
Although I foresaw what was happening with Dylan, I was still so heartbroken for him, Gabby and their families.
I loved how Gabby handled it once the truth came out but was a bit annoyed with her actions to Slat after everything (don't want to give to mich away) and that she waited so long. But I also understood the grief, her mental health and where her head was at. Most of all I loved that it was the FMC that had to prove herself and go big, not the male. So many stories have the male grovelling even when the female screws up.
The first book i read from this author i didnt like and stayed away until i read 'The one I want' which was a fantastic story, and this amazing story has cemented my love of SD.
