When You Least Expect It: A Small Town Romance (Hope Valley Book 11) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 1,721 ratings

The last thing Stella Ryan had time for was a man. With her family in trouble and looking to her to fix everything, romance and commitment were the furthest things from her mind. Until she ran into a man with a jawline that could cut granite and arms she wanted to lick like an ice cream cone. A man who made her forget the things that really mattered.

West Scott was one of the last bachelors standing. With all his Alpha Omega brothers settling down and popping out a bunch of kids, he had become the target for meddling women looking to fix him up. But there was one woman, in particular, he couldn’t get out of his head. The one in the killer dress with a gift for picking pockets.

When fate puts Stella in his path again, he’s determined to get to the cause of her desperation and help solve all her problems. If only the headstrong, stubborn woman would let him in. She’s trying her hardest to keep her walls up, but he’s dead set on showing her that the best things happen when you least expect it.

An incredibly sexy, entertaining, and sweet, opposites attract romance!
Stella Ryan hails from a family of very lovable, and generally successful, thieves. But when her dad cons a target with... connections, they find themselves in a whole heap of trouble. Weston Scott isn't looking for a relationship, but the second he spots Stella, it is game over to his single life. She may be enticingly beautiful... but the thing that really grabs his interest? It has to be the ease in which she can pick a pocket... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When You Least Expect It was an incredibly sexy, entertaining, and sweet, opposites attract romance, in the always exciting, Hope Valley series! West is the latest Alpha Omega hottie to find his match, but of course whenever these men find their ladies, drama is soon to follow... and Stella is definitely ready to keep West on his toes... With her family is trouble, Stella is doing what she can to earn enough money to pay back one very angry, and very dangerous, former mark. And while stealing isn't something that she enjoys doing, it happens to be the only way for her to help get everyone out of their current mess. While her life is in complete turmoil, a relationship is the last thing she needs to worry about... but a man like West isn't so easily overlooked... West is a former military man who works with the Alpha Omega team and who knows a thing or two about getting people out of sticky situations. From the moment that West met Stella, he was instantly fascinated... but when his protective instincts kick in... Stella is about to get his FULL attention... This was a great story! I loved Stella and West's cute relationship. His nickname for her made me chuckle every time he used it, and their dynamic was cute and fun... not to mention the super hot sex that came along with it! The plot was engaging and had it's share of drama... and I couldn't get enough of Stella's very loving, but very thieving, family! When You Least Expect It was another fantastic read in that amazing and completely addicting, Hope Valley series!! I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

I loved, loved this book! The chemistry between West and Stella was intriguing, sexy and hilarious all at the same time. This book reminded me of the Rock Chick books by Kristen Ashley so much that I was disappointed when I read the last page. It makes me want to find one like it from Jessica. I've loved all of her books so far, but this one has to be her best! I am so sad that I have only one book left in this series. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

UPDATE: I just downloaded the Hope Valley #12, the last one in this series 😒 I'll keep you posted on this one!

This book was a definite change for me. The whole plot felt different. For one, the female lead was a bit morally grey. And although she did need saving, it was kind of her fault. It was still a great story with a very well thought out plot, it just didn’t seem to fit with the Hope Valley series as a whole.

West and Stella met under extremely unusual circumstances. West was helping the police take down a drug dealer and Stella was trying to grift her family out of trouble. West quickly fell for Stella and before she could blink he had her moved into his house “for her safety”. Their romance was definitely fast paced. They didn’t even have their first official date until the epilogue, but at that point they had already fallen for each other.

One of the things I loved about West was his ability to read Stella, when nobody else could. Stella was used to binding her feelings and emotions, but West saw through her walls. I also ended up loving Stella’s family. Sure they had made some mistakes, but they loved each other and only wanted the best for their family.

Although this was different, it was entertaining. I loved the cameos of the other couples, though they weren’t featured as much. The suspense was good and on par with the rest of the series. Now there’s only one man left standing, and it is the one I feel like I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait for Hunter’s book to finish out the series.

This is my first book by the author and I like her writing style. The flow of the book was very lovely. It was detailed but not overly done to lose interest and not underdone to not want to finish. I learned a new term too - grifting. I had no idea what that was until this book. That's not my typical type of book. Lol

I liked the fact that she did have a moral code on who she conned and stole from and being caught by a master (basically) was fun to read. I like their chemistry together and I like how protective he was of her from the beginning. And how they both captivated each other's attentions. It was definitely a good read. Apparently it's book number 11 in the Hope valley series, so I am a bit behind haha. Someday I may even go back and read more. But for now, I am content with what I have read. Her family is definitely unorthodox, but the love is definitely there. His life seemed lacking before she came along as well. So she definitely did him some good.

I tear up for every book and I cannot get enough!! i would read 100 books if that was how long the series was!!!! Each couple has a special place in my heart!!! Do yourself a favor and go read each and every one of these books (including spin offs!!!!)

STELLAAAAAAAAAAAA! She was awesome!! Her and her family were hilarious and she deserved the very best!! Go read this for more of these awesome characters!

Suspenseful, sexy, and funny all are a part of this telling. Having all the “Alpha Couples” surrounding our duo is the best. Our heroine’s family really ups my need to devour this story also.

This book had me from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down until the last page was turned. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

Do you love books with unlikely soul mates? With heroes you wish you too could climb? With heroines stacked with sass, awkwardness, and loyalty? If so, grab When You least Expect it. I literally snorted in laughter several times, so be ready for Jessica Prince’s fabulous wit too. The story arc was light and fun. And the sizzle? Absolutely delicious. Another wonderful addition to the Hope Valley series. I’m so addicted.

I loved West and Stella! So much good luck in a chance meeting. The way west treasured Stella will live in my head for a long time and I loved that her skills can now be used for good and she no longer has to con to make ends meet.

When You Least Expect it brought a wonderful slow burn story with a touch of suspense. Jessica did a wonderful job painting a story with the perfect amount of heat to keep me invested from the very start.

Weston is the perfect amount of possessive alpha male without being over the top and Stella has the perfect amount of stubborn yet adorable independence that makes her a force to be reconned with.

The passion that ignited between these two when they finally got together had me blushing. Another amazing addition to Hope Valley.

Book 11 and I am still loving these stories and the couples. West was the prefect blend of alpha and sweet, and Stella, she was simply perfect. She had me laughing out loud so many times through the book. Her humour really added to the story and balanced out the drama.

I can’t wait for Hunter’s story, since getting to know more about him in Bryce’s book, I have been desperate for his story, although Micah still currently holds the number one spot for favourite male - by the slightest margin, the other one 10 are so close, I think Hunter might give him a run for his money.
