Where Forever Grows: Secrets from Inside the Bower (Evening Bower) Kindle Edition
Outside of New Orleans at the edge of the bayou, will o’ the wisps roam, wind chimes sing a warning of approaching dark creatures, and a perpetual fog lingers. This is the Riviere Plantation, home to Rhea, an ancient phoenix, her vampire friends, a seer, a changeling, a fae and other supernatural creatures. Readers know this place is also home of the blue rose from Atlantis, and the world of the Evening Bower.
A world built on shadows.
Now, in honor of the fans, mysteries from the books – Midnight Assassin, The Gypsy Thorn, Time and Blood, and Love and Blood – are unearthed.
Where did Reaper come from? What is in The Great Book of Forgetting? What happened to Drahomira in Vienna? Answers to these questions and others offer previously hidden insights to the humorous, innocent, and loving traits that make bower immortals seem human. Also, these vignettes illuminate the more deadly and delicious side of favorite characters.
However, readers beware. Some secrets whisper of an unwritten future. Once you know a secret, can you keep it? Or will the shadows take you away forever?
(Warning contains spoilers from series).

- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2023In Where Forever Grows, award-winning author Sherry Rentschler has provided readers in her Evening Bower Readers’ Group excerpts, snippets, and teasers relative to her novels. These include prequels and character descriptions along with their actions or motivations. Secrets about the stories are revealed. Evidently, the friends in her reading group love detail and this was one way Rentschler could include much of the detail that writers sometimes leave out of the final draft simply because it's extraneous to the story. But there is always more and Rentschler writes about the extras here.
As a vampire scholar, Sherry shares an excitement for stories and all things that go bump in the night. I’m not a member of her group but reading these explanatory essays, and even poetry, is enough to incite interest in any serious readers.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2019How many of us have wished that we could, if only for a few moments, spend time with a favorite author and learn the origins of fictional characters and the events that contributed to their iconic personalities and motives? Probably all of us. I have, at least.
This book is a collection of scenes we don't get to see in the Evening Bower series--but they're important, and each is prefaced with a note from Rentschler, setting things up with precision and hints of mystery. In several places, I found myself thinking, "Well, THAT explains a lot."
It's not meeting her in person, but maybe it's the next best thing. We go inside the mind of the author and behind the scenes to read beyond the lines, where forever really grows.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2019Where Forever Grows is an anthology of scenes that didn’t make it into earlier books into Ms. Rentschler’s Evening Bower series. Readers eagerly awaiting the next book in her series should grab Where Forever Grows to get a quick fix. No matter your favorite character, you’ll find a secret in this book that adds depth to her characters. My personal favorite was learning more of Keta’s story.
