While You Were Texting (Digital Dating Book 2) Kindle Edition
Lincoln Cunningham doesn’t do relationships. Mostly because he learned in college that he doesn’t do them well. Translation: book smart guys focused on learning the art and science of vineyard tending aren’t always girl smart, and the humiliation that comes from being the only one invested in the relationship, well, that’s enough for him.
Lincoln’s mother, however, isn’t so sure. Her oldest son found his match, and now her sights are set on Linc. Why she insists on setting him up at the Paint it Pal pottery shop is beyond anyone’s grasp.
Hannah Delacourt never dreamed of a life spent handing customers ceramic monkeys and pots of paint and explaining the inner workings of a kiln. But she also never intended to spend a year trying to figure out whether the vineyard she inherited should be sold or might actually produce wine.
When the same cute guy comes in to paint on date after miserable date, she figures out what’s going on pretty quickly. He slips her an SOS and she texts him to help him out of the latest painful date. When he texts later to thank her, they hatch the perfect scheme.
She’ll pretend to be his girlfriend while he helps her figure out if her grapes are worth keeping. Everyone wins, right? But what happens when you fall in love when you’re texting with your fake boyfriend? Worse yet, what do you do when he’s clueless?
From two USA Today bestselling authors, a RomCom so sweet you'll want to hug your kindle and never look at texting the same way.

About the authors
I'm USA Today Bestselling author Delancey Stewart. My contemporary romances run the gamut of settings and setups, but they always deliver humor, heart and heat. It’s a guarantee.
I write from my home in Denver, CO, where I manage a household full of boys and men. Okay, only one man. The hubs. But two boys. I mean, three if you count the hubs. (You see why I do words and not numbers. I was told there’d be no math in this bio. Someone lied.)
I grew up in California and have had more jobs than anyone on earth (personal trainer, pharmaceutical rep, copywriter, tech writer, marketing director, wine seller, elementary school teacher… I’m not kidding. The list. It goes on.) But the one I love the most is writing, in part because I get to meet people who love books and stories as much as I do! - Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2021This is book 2 in the Digital Dating series. Lincoln Cunningham is a bit odd, his brain does not work the way most people’s does and he often misses social cues. As a result, he does not do relationships and he is convinced he’s meant to be alone. Hannah is divorced and new to Solano Creek. She moved to the small town after she inherited her aunt’s falling down house and winery. While she decides what to do about the property she is working at the local paint it shop. Every week Lincoln comes in to have a first date with someone his mother has set him up with and every week he paints another frog. Finally, after a really disastrous date shows up Lincoln begs Hannah to text him about an emergency so he can escape the date. Thus begins Lincoln and Hannah’s texting relationship where they are both better able to be more honest and open with each other. At the same time, IRL, Hannah agrees to be Lincoln’s fake girlfriend and in exchange, he agrees to help her with her vineyard. Since it’s working well, the texting continues as part of their relationship. This book has a little bit of everything on the journey to Lincoln and Hannah’s HEA - sweet moments, heart squeezing encounters, family support, painful pasts, and laugh out loud scenes. I love when real life issues - like family difficulties, social awkwardness, deaths, financial problems, and divorce - are included in romances, it makes for more three dimensional characters and more well rounded and relatable storylines. This book definitely gave me all the feels - the joy, the discomfort, the uncertainty, the angst, and the love were all palpable. I will definitely keep reading more of this great series.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2022Fun relatively quick read. Lincoln has always felt different from his brothers, not out going not great at social cues. Hannah is new in town after inheriting a house and vines from an aunt she didn't know well. Hannah has watched Lincoln go out on many blind dates and when he asks for an emergency text to get out of one well that opens a line of communication. Sweet fun read.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2021I love everything about “While You Were Texting,” the second book in the Digital Dating Series by Marika Ray and Delancey Stewart. I read the book in an afternoon and quickly fell in love with Lincoln and Hannah. We met them in the first book in the series and I had hoped they would somehow find their way to each other.
Lincoln is somewhat shy, studious and has a hard time conveying his feelings. I found him very appealing and the kind of guy any woman would want to be with. He is close to his mom and brothers and they do everything together, but he also likes spending time by himself. I love his character and it broke my heart when he got tongue tied when it came to expressing his feelings for Hannah. They were absolutely made for each other and I found their romantic journey magical, carefree and full of passion.
Their interactions at Paint It, Pal, where Lincoln had his many dates, were funny and set the stage for a flurry of text messages where they could comfortably get to know one another. I can understand that texting was easier for Lincoln and I loved the names they used for each other on their phones. Lincoln and Hannah were meant to be together and you could tell they were always excited when they could see one another. They may have begun their courtship flirtatiously texting back and forth, but once love and trust took over, their sweet and tender romance became a match made in heaven.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2021Well, I just finished While You We’re Texting, and I won’t easily forget this very sweet hero and heroine! Linc and Hannah are a match made in heaven and their story reads like a 1990s rom com that we all kick back, enjoy and eat a gallon of ice cream while watching. GET THE ICE CREAM and the wine!
There are absolutely parts of this story you will snort laugh through but there are parts that will warm your heart. My perception of Linc is that he’s absolute perfection! Sure, he struggles with a couple of social cues and doesn’t always know how to react to some situations, but he’s F-I-N-E fine and he’s a total sweetheart. Hannah is also finding her way after some losses, she’s alone in the world and in a brand new town, but she’s a ray of sunshine and she’s got the hots for Linc, and for Hannah, Linc’s family brings her a lot of joy and acceptance, but, people come with experiences and unfortunately Hannah has uncertainty in her relationship with Linc, but they get their HEA. The pairing of Delancey Stewart and Marika Ray is genius and I’m not sure what brought them together to write this series, but who do I need to send cheese to to keep this going?
This is a no angst, sweet rom com. I rate this 5 plus stars!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2021Lincoln Cunningham thinks he's not good with words but this story and his relationship with Hannah proves that wrong. Hannah Delacourt feels a bit lost in this new town but is determined to find her footing before deciding to move on. She finds Lincoln attractive and gets tongue tied. They both feel more at ease over text. This is a quick and light hearted story that made me think of a favorite old ROM com movie While you were sleeping. I enjoyed it, hope you do to.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2024Sweet story about shy and speechless Lincoln and the paint place Hannah. He was supposed to go to the place to paint ceramic pieces, that always were frogs, to meet potential “girlfriends”, however he really wanted the girl that helped him with his frogs. After she saved him from his last horrible date they began to text. He felt great with her but his past scare him to begin a new relationship even though this one was supposed to be fake. Funny and lovely story.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2021Sweet, simple story with complex characters. Great sequel to the first book. While predictable and silly, it's the perfect quick read for a quiet night in or a long wait at the doctor's office.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving this series!
While You Were Texting is book 2 in the brand new Digital Dating Series by my two favourite rom com writers!
Lincoln and Hannah were just so sweet and they were just perfect for each other, you just can't help love them! Lincoln is a little unsure of himself and because of that he struggles, at times, socially. Hannah is rediscovering herself after a few bumps in the road.
Hannah comes to Lincoln's rescue after his Mum sets him up on another blind date disaster, but it's not going to stop his mum setting him up on more dates! Until Hannah offers to be his fake girlfriend!
I loved seeing glimpses of Lincoln's family, especially Dalton and Dillon, can't wait to see what's to come with their stories!
I adored Hannah and Lincoln! Another 5 star winner from my new favourite writing duo!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Book With A Socially Awkward Hero
I thought this book was sweet. It was a light read featuring blind dates, fake dating, uncertainty, self-actualization, and the rediscovery of hope.
One of the things that really stood out for me about this book was the hero, Lincoln. While I don’t know if I would go so far as to say that he had an actual diagnosable disorder, he had clear social behavioural challenges. While the terminology was not used in the book, I found myself wondering whether he might be on the autistic spectrum.
For me, Lincoln’s challenges reading social cues both added and subtracted from my enjoyment of the book. They made some things more endearing, but others a little less relatable for me.
I liked the book enough to want to read the next book in the series (I never read the first one), but I wouldn’t rank this book as being among my favourites. It was a pleasant escape, but it didn’t touch me or make me consider new concepts in any profound ways.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lincoln and his frogs
Frogs were his thing, along with a string of set up dates by his matchmaking mom. She supplied said frogs, and now a great excuse out of said dates...
She was just looking to save him from them and trade some of his expertise with her inherited vines.
Both spoke the same language....
This is a story of finding your right match whose right under your nose.
Someone who understands you even when you feel the rest of the world doesn't.
