    Another fantastic Ridge Rogues series addition. Renee Harless is another author I have added to my favorites list. I have absolutely loved each and every book in this series. These guys will keep you enthralled and entertained and the ladies that make them fall to their knees for them are always smart, tough and feisty.

    This is Haley and Rylan’s story and their struggle to find their HEA together. Rylan comes from a dark past and doesn’t know how to move beyond it and allow a good thing in his life beyond his adoptive family. Haley comes from a loving but tragic past and just wants to love and be loved by someone. He pushes, while she pulls and somewhere in between they find themselves in a situation neither expected and it finally brings them their HEA.

    If you enjoy your guys a bit broken but protective, and your ladies a bit insecure but determined then you’ll enjoy this Ridge Rogue book!! Highly recommend it!!

    "I already knew that I'd never met another woman like Haley. No one would ever come close to her. But I promised myself years ago that no relationship was worth the destruction that I could cause. And I would destroy her.."

    Ok, where were these Ridge Rogue type guys when I was in college, huh? So unfair that I missed out.

    First we have Haley, a self-proclaimed introvert, music lover , and a hater of her curves. Add in Rylan, one of Ridge Rogue brothers, campus playboy, and in his own mind, broken beyond repair. Throw in a one-timer on a school trip, a secret or two, some anger and bad choices, and an undeniable attraction and you've got the makings of an explosion!

    The chemistry between these two is off the charts and Rylan is......GAH! I loved seeing both sides of both of these characters. You see the shy, self-conscious side of Haley, and her strong, tough, take-no-bull side too! You see the arrogant, confident side of Rylan, and the insecure, vulnerable little boy as well.

    So we have 4 of the 5 Rogue boys paired off - Ford, Archer, Chance, and now Rylan. Ok, Tyler and Link, which one of you is going to fall next??

    I am loving this series! I'd recommend it to everyone!

    I liked that the Ridge Rogues kind of paired off with friends. I like the little group that they are forming. Rylan and Haley's pairing didn't start so great. I liked that they took their chemistry and put it to good use, even though neither really wanted a relationship. Their baggage seemed to be too much to be deserving of love, which of course is wrong. I loved how Haley was able create and use her muse with music. I wish I had that ability. I was surprised with Rylan's dislike of music, but could understand why. I love that they were both able to move past their pasts and take hold of what they want with their future with a few surprises mixed in.

    Filled with angst and drama but with some sweet moments, too, Wicked Schemes is a thoroughly enjoyable addition to the Ridge Rogues series. Hayley and Rylan’s story will have you anxious to see how it all turns out.

    Their story begins when they’re almost done with their semester abroad, and their relative acquaintanceship turns into something much more intimate. However, feelings get hurt, and a lot goes down before they find their way back to each other. There’s plenty of back and forth with their sort-of relationship, and seemingly neither of them knows what to do with what’s going on between them. Throughout this book, we see Rylan and Hayley go from not even friends to more than just being together and how they navigate it all.

    Something I really liked about this book is the level of angst between Rylan and Haley and their traumatic backstories. I found their heartbreaking stories added to their characters and made them more real in a sense. I’m not a big fan of when characters are just perfect all the time, and Rylan and Haley have had less than perfect lives that have defined them. Both of their lives before coming together are just so sad and emotional, and they made me feel for them even more when they were dealing with what was going on between them.

    Overall, Hayley and Rylan’s story kept me interested. The drama that was so prevalent in the book helped make it one that I became invested in. I do wish that we had a bit more development with how the characters managed their new-found circumstance. I love seeing a character’s inner turmoil and then how that translates into the way they deal with the other characters and would’ve appreciated more of that here, but we do get a sense that the things that transpire between Rylan and Hayley were not easy. Then from there, I loved how their relationship was able to evolve into something so much more than what I expected.

    Wicked Schemes has a lot of drama between the characters, but there’s so much tenderness and growing there, too. It’s the sort of book that will make you feel and leave you satisfied.

    If you've read the series you've had to have wondered why Rylan is the way he is. Well you will definitely find out in this novel and let me tell you.....it hits you straight in the heart.

    Hayley and Rylan are no strangers to each other as their friend group has intertwined themselves. So when they hook up on a trip to Europe Hayley knew of Rylan's reputation, and only had one expectation...that it would just be a passing thought and nothing would change. Rylan has zero idea of Hayley's lack of experience and it threw him into a tailspin of regret. Hayley sees more in Rylan than he's willing to see, and it just takes a little space and an unexpected announcement to make him see his true worth. Who knew all he needed was a little Hayley in his life to make him see he isn't destined to a life of one night stands.

    This isn't my first Renee Harless novel and she knows exactly how to draw you in and hold you there feeling every ounce of the words she's written.

    This can be read as a standalone but you will definitely find yourself going back to the beginning to read about each of the Ridge Rogue men as they are intertwined into each book.
