Wicked Games (Queen City Rogues, #2) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 780 ratings

Ryder Jameson and Lucien Clarke have a complicated past: Ryder conserves art; Lucien steals it. Their love-hate relationship spans six years and two continents and has endured multiple heists. Hoping to restore his tarnished reputation, Ryder returns home to Cincinnati to accept a position at an acclaimed museum. When Lucien suddenly reappears in Ryder’s life, the treasure seeker hopes to nab a priceless Shang Dynasty artifact and recapture Ryder’s jilted heart.

Something more sinister than stolen art is stirring in the Queen City. Ryder and Lucien must join forces to untangle a web of secrets, lies, and treachery bigger than either of them expected. Trust won’t come easy, but they’ll need to rely on each other because pulling the wrong thread could have deadly consequences.

Is it fate that keeps bringing Ryder and Lucien together, or are they merely pawns in someone’s wicked games? Will they play for keeps this time or become collateral damage?

Wicked Games is a second-chance romance filled with passion, humor, and intrigue. It’s the second book in the Queen City Rogues series but can be read on its own. Wicked Games contains mature sexual content intended for readers 18 and older.

Lucien and Ryder have a history, a hot as hell history. Full of stolen artifacts, lies, broken hearts, and more lies. Lucien can’t let Ryder go because he gave him a piece of his heart. Ryder desperately needs to let Lucien go because he lost a piece of his heart too, and he wants it back damnit. Intrigue, lust, and rediscovery await.

It seems as if I’ve read a lot of what I’d call cute books lately. This one falls completely into that category. This authors Curl Up And Dye, Blissville, and Rogues books contain so many rich and varied characters. Lucien and Ryder may out-shine and out-snark Josh and Gabe. Oh so many new faces and personalities to absorb. So many wonderful possibilities in their futures. This one was just fun to read.

I do love Walker’s books. They’re just angsty enough with lots of cuteness and sexiness. I get a little annoyed at the jealousy but this one wasn’t too bad (although I could’ve kicked Ryder’s butt when he entered the hospital room. Seriously?)

But I love ANW and look forward to the next book in the series!

I loved Wicked Games so much. At first I thought there was going to be a lot of back and forth between Ryder and Lucien before they “made up” but that wasn’t really the case here. After reuniting for the first time there is an explosive scene between the two men (super hotttt). I loved all the references to Romancing the Stone and they play off of Carmen Sandiego.
These two men go on their own adventure to achieve their own happy ending. Aimee Nicole Walker is an amazing storyteller!

I devour all of this author's books the second they are released. I never think I can love one more than the last but this one is my fave by far. Ryder was hurt in the past by Lucien so it makes sense he is leery to trust again, but Lucky is patient in earning that trust back. It's a story full of adventure and the supporting cast brings as much enjoyment to the story as any I've ever read. Oh Percy.

I passed by the first book in the series because I didn't care for the MCs. This one is hampered by a cover which does not quite live up to what I imagine the MCs to look like--but it sure as heck lives up to the passion between MCs Lucien (Lucky) and Ryder.

This is one of the best balanced, rip-roaring, over-the-top and loving books of this genre I've read in a long time--and I can't even identify the genre correctly.

Look, I usually write long reviews, but in this case I can tell you that I just don't want to introduce any spoilers other than to say Lucian and Ryder will grab you from the start, infuriate you, then mesmerize you and hold you tight.

    Wow!

I love all the books in the Curl up and Dye and Road to Blissville series so I wasn't surprised that I also love this one.
The lovers to enemies to lovers theme and the sizzling chemistry between Ryder and Lucien are perfect and we are treated with a great mix of mystery, angst, and side characters that you can't help to love. And I wasn't the biggest fan of Ryder in the last book but that definitely changed.

Another great book. The main characters are likeable and rub along beautifully. The story develops quickly enough to see how they belong together. The love scenes are both erotic and romantic leaving a glow as you read and share their adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it - better than the first!
Reviewed in Australia on March 20, 2019
I enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one took it to the next level! It just had that extra something that engaged me and made the characters that bit more intriguing. It had a spy/mystery vibe to it, and focused on that rather than trying to pull too many different plotlines into the story.

It was well written, and had great character depth - I couldn't help but love Ryder (who we only met briefly in book 1 where he wasn't painted in the best light) and Lucien. The chemistry between them was sizzling, and the sex scenes played on that connection.

I loved the secondary characters as well, and how they all fit like pieces of a puzzle as things were revealed throughout the story.

This book could be read as a stand alone if you don't want to read the first book - apart from a few minor cross over points at the start this book ran it's own course and had a completely different character set.

I would definitely recommend this one, and will look for more books from this author too.

I enjoyed this story. It was fun and sexy. I did have trouble reconciling the characters with the cover models, their characters didn't fit their looks (in my opinion). Lucien's behaviour and speech weren't what I would associate with his previous employment and that kind of stunted my enjoyment of the story somewhat. But this is a personal issue rather than a problem with the story.

I loved this book from Aimee Nicole Walker. This fast paced, sexy story is a MUST READ!!! Ryder and Lucien have beautiful chemistry together and you feel like you’re on a roller coaster ride with them, right up to the very last page. There’s angst, indifference, excitement, adventure, intrigue and so, so much love. Apart from the gorgeous MC’s, the other characters in this story also leave you wanting more. I just wanted to keep reading more of it .....
