    This book is one person's life long search for the truth to her past; a truth that was hinted at in her subconscious. It grips you right from the start as she takes you inside her struggles as a child and then a teen ager, trying so desperately to please everyone around her, as she feels so inadequate and unhappy and not quite understanding why. Casi McLean really draws you into this painful existence and you find your self rooting for her, hoping she will find the answers that will set her free. Then she embarks on a series of relationships, including marriage where she seems to attract the exact opposite of what she so desperately needs and deserves. By now, you the reader, are locked in emotionally, rooting for Casi, and praying to God that she is going to make it. At times, I felt overwhelming pain as I thought, "she's not going to make it. I feel so horrible for her." Casi brings all her worst fears to a dramatic climax as she confronts her past and brings you, the reader on an emotional roller coaster of discovery. Then Casi really shows us how far she has come on this incredible life journey when she shows us all the secrets of achieving happiness and independence. This book is an inspiration for us all on how to overcome the worst life can throw at us and come out the other side a beautiful butterfly. Congratultions Casi, I'm a fan. I can't wait for your next book.

    I was reading this book for my book club. I found it not to be an enjoyable read because the author frequently uses the same phraseology. I really got tired of the over use of "jerk magnet" and only made it half way through the book when I decided I did not even care what the ending was.

    I read this book because I happened upon Casi's website. (casi-mclean.com) From the first page, the author draws you into her world. You feel like you know her personally and feel her pain. She has been very candid about her past, her hopes, her dreams, her ups, her downs. However, you begin to "root" for her and want her to be okay. She is. What is amazing about this book is you not only feel a connection to Casi but she is actually giving wonderful advice to you. She is a very positive person who has taken the high road through all her trials and tribulations. What you can gain from her book is to accept people for who they are, be the best person you can be and strive to get the most out of life. She is an author to watch. I'm sure we'll see many more books from her and I personally can't wait!

    Not an easy read. It is both amazing and terrifying that Casi is so candid. To me, anyone who honestly and openly shares personal thoughts, feelings, memories, ideas, beliefs, "wisdom", humor and sorrows with the world, is one who "wears their heart on their sleeve". These are the people I most respect for they surrender pretense, self-protection, risk exposure, and swallow pride showing true strength, courage, AND caring to let others know the thoughts and feelings most people hide from one another. "Wingless Butterfly" earns my greatest respect and admiration for its honesty and humanity. There are so many many people who are going to read this book and find it more "universal" than "particular", more about ourselves than about Casi! Clear to me that this book IS HER GIFT.....

    This is the first book of author Casi Mclean that I have read and what a book it is!

    In this well written memoir, Casi is looking for her truth. This was not an easy read at times, but it sucked me in right from the start and I read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I needed to know if Casi found her truth, if she survived all the painful betrayals she endured and persevered after all the hurt and heartache in her life. There were so many things I could relate to in my own life and I felt that I was reading about a friend and the strength and courage she had through all that life threw at her.
    Casi didn't hold back with the painful parts of her life, all while using humor and at times I cried tears off pain for her. This made me evaluate my own life and where I'm going, even in my golden years.
