About the author

Kirsten Blacketer writes the stories she's dying to read. She likes mystery and intrigue, handsome heroes, sassy heroines, and a chance to break the rules. She lives for sexual tension and loves kissing scenes. There's no way she can write in just one era, so don't be surprised if you see her jumping from medieval Scotland to prohibition on the Mississippi River to late Victorian London then onto contemporary Brooklyn. She follows wherever the muse leads her.

It was also a relief to understand what was fully going on. In the previous novels, we are given a glimpse of the events that set the novels into motion. Under Winter’s Control finally answers all the burning questions the reader has up to this point.
Blacketer is a skilled writer. She gives us enough plot and heat to keep us interested without just giving us everything we want at once. It’s frustratingly maddening and amazingly addictive all at once. Her characters are interesting and just work together despite the differences in their personalities and stations. All together, it makes a recipe for an utterly delightful trilogy that is not to be missed.
I really enjoyed this book. Monty goes undercover to find Katherine. He tracks her to a small village in Scotland where she's posing as a widowed barmaid. Monty has promised her brother he'd return her to London, and by all means possible he does.
I felt there was a little less mystery around this story, but then by the third book much is revealed!! I loved the story of this romance where one feels as though they cannot have the other. Nothing is more enticing. There was one scene I found a bit off but it did not take away from the storyline.
Great read, recommend it.
