What Meadow doesn’t know is that Bear has only ever loved one woman too. He was heartbroken when Meadow married Heath, certain she chose his brother over him. But there’s more to Meadow and Heath’s marriage than anyone knows...

With both Meadow and Bear convinced they can only ever be friends they set one another a dating challenge – will they meet their perfect match online, as Bear thinks, or in person at a dating event, like Meadow believes? Holly lives in a little white cottage by the sea. She studied media at university which led to a very glitzy career as a hotel receptionist followed by a even more glamorous two years working in a bank. The moment that one of her colleagues received the much coveted carriage clock for fifteen years’ service was the moment when she knew she had to escape. She quit her job and returned to university to train to be a teacher. Three years later, she emerged wide eyed and terrified that she now had responsibility for the development of thirty young minds. She taught for four years and then escaped the classroom to teach history workshops, dressing up as a Viking one day and an Egyptian High Priestess the next. But the long journeys around the UK and many hours sat on the M25 gave her a lot of time to plan out her stories and she now writes full time, doing what she loves.

Holly has been writing for 8 years. She was shortlisted for the New Talent Award at the Festival of Romance. Her short story won the Sunlounger competition and was published in the Sunlounger anthology. She won the Carina Valentine’s competition at the Festival of Romance with her novel The Guestbook. She was shortlisted for Best Romantic Read, Best eBook and Innovation in Romantic Fiction at the Festival of Romance. She is the bestselling author of 26 books selling over a million books worldwide. Holly's books have been translated into French, German, Italian, Dutch, Bulgarian, Estonian, Turkish and Russian.

I really wish I could visit one of these magical villages that Holly imagines in her books! The Willow Wood resort of tree houses featured in this series would be at the top of my list. The way she describes these places makes them something I can imagine visiting.

I felt so sad and annoyed for Bear and Meadow with how their miscommunications and misunderstandings had cost them so much time. But this friends-to-lover romance was worth that frustration. These two, and all of the side characters, were heartwarming and lovely. It was a great escape of a read!

The charming Wishing Wood series continues with Bear and Meadow's story. After their romance was set up a bit in the first book I was so looking forward to reading their book.

They were best friends for years and as teenagers they were both interested in the other. Things did not work out for them then, but they have a second chance now. Friends to more is one of my favorite tropes and I thought it was well done here. They each struggle a bit with doubts and nerves, but the relationship doesn't take forever to develop. It was sweet seeing their friends and family encourage them to give things a try too. Especially Meadow's daughter Star.

I really liked the dual POV because it allowed for getting to know/understand how both felt about their past as well as the present changes in their relationship.

It was so much fun to return to the Wishing Wood Treehouses. I absolutely love the setting and wish I could stay there too.

Holly's books are always a must read for me and this was another wonderful story. It could be read as a standalone, but I definitely recommend the first book in the series as well.

I enjoyed most of the book. However, the explicit romantic scenes were a little excessive. Also, the words of the angry or exasperated characters used were not to my liking.

I liked the first book - The Blossom Tree of Dreams - and decided to take this one as well hoping it would give me the same nice and peaceful feeling when reading it. I was wrong.
This book is extremely boring, you can tell from the very start how it will end and at a point it actually gets annoying how the characters keep spinning around their tails coming up with lame excuses not to admit they like each other. The most interesting part was the stray dog and the wild animals caught on cameras.
I am sorry but I can’t give this book more than 2 stars.

Having recently stumbled on Author Holly Marin and the 3 books in the wishing wood series I'm overjoyed to have found a new author to read. Great stories and lovely characters, very easy and enjoyable to read. Some easy going books and be insipid or lacking depth of story but not these. Will be reading much more by Holly Martin after this.

First book I've read by Holly Martin enjoyed it very .much I did feel there was lot of unnecessary chat at times
But apart from that it was a fabulous read,
Didn’t realise this was the second book in the series, I have now read book 1 that was so good. I decided to read the Wisteria tree cottage again , I don’t think k my first review did it justice the love story’s of river and indigo and meadow and bear are so well written what amazing characters a fabulous setting. Some sadness, some funny moments,
Two amazing stories with tender love, and all the characters actually feature in both stories which was fab, also the epilogue had me in tears worth more than 5 ⭐️ would not hesitate to recommend both books, I have book 3 ready to start just hope all the friends are there ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
