Witch In Charge: A Paranormal Chick Lit Novel: Witch Shapeshifter Romance (Real Men Love Witches Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 322 ratings

It's all fun and games until Kelly's gargoyle statue turns into a real man...

If there's one thing Party Witch Extraordinaire Kelly Holloway likes, it's a good time. So what if her coven thinks she's so immature they've tacked an extra year onto her wardship? Of course, that's why it's such a surprise when she learns she's inherited Hollow House. Oh, the epic ragers she plans to throw!

But all isn't Jello shots and booty calls. Not only does she have to deal with two quirky roommates she's forced to take in, a snarky vampire living in her basement (rent free, no less!), and a curmudgeonly new boss who doesn't find her habitual tardiness the least bit charming, but also a pesky sentient house that seems hell-bent on thwarting her love life.

Things only get weirder when the gargoyle statue she's been messing with for months turns into a man. A hot man. The hottest she's ever seen. And Ronun's not a fan of Kelly's...at all. Considering all of the funny outfits she's dressed him in, she can't really blame him. But...dayum. He's so fine even Hollow House seems to like him.

Whatever. Kelly has far more important things to focus on--such as finding her family's missing spell book so she can figure out how to rein in the uncontrollable Hollow House, impress her dubious boss, and break the curse that turns Ronun to stone for half the day.

This was the first book I've read in a few weeks, and this was a wonderful welcome. It's a short read, I finished around 4 hours, give or take. The story is solid, no major plot holes. And the Mc' s are too cute together, I especially love the tunnel vision they both get around each other.

First in this offshoot series set in the Othercross universe, this tells the story of party-girl Kelly and a hunky cursed gargoyle.
The heroine is powerful but ditzy, self-centered, and rather immature. Fortunately, the gargoyle proves to be the making of her, and her new internship shows her something she is actually interested in.

This was a quick, quirky read, and the sentient house is perhaps my favourite character (making up a lot for the annoying antics Kelly gets into initially). Some characters from the Othercross world guest star, while a couple more are lined up for future books!

If you enjoy quirky paranormal romance or the Othercross world, you’ll enjoy this book.

I think this is going to be my absolute favorite of the Othercross series! How could it not be when the authors started it off with a brooding hottie, a sassy house, a stone cold protector, a generations long curse, a change in destiny, and a semi-reformed party girl? The characters are truly amazing! I love how the roommates get selected and just their general personalities and how could I not fall in love with this witch who seems to always find trouble, and yet when someone finally touches her heart and something piques her curiosity she sticks to the straight and narrow path. I can only imagine where the authors are taking this series next, and I can’t wait to see it all unfold.

Kelly is definitely a party witch. Known as the party girl, and she knows it. She also dresses the part. Her life really has no direction. Two main things happen that would definitely make you grow up, first you inherit your ancestors home, which for Kelly that means a sentient house. A house that definitely let’s its opinion be known. Then you meet the one man that changes you forever.Ronun is a gargoyle, and a cursed one at that. Kelly is determined to break the curse. It’s very powerful and it could be beyond her talents. She finds help in the most unusual of people. Kelly does grow up, she finds a way to make peace with her house, and to be with her mate forever.

A fun paranormal romance read that doesn’t disappoint. I so loved Kelly’s character she took fun to the next level, but when she meets Ronun things gets steamy. She may seem fun all the time but when she finds something she is passionate about she goes above to help. I was highly entertained from start to finish with the interesting characters and great storyline.

Kelly loves partying and is specialist in having a good life. Until she inherits an old house, which has a mind of its own. Then she develops feelings for the gargoyle Ronun and her feelings turn into something more serious. She is looking for a way to break Ronun's curse .....
I loved to read the book, I could relax so good with it and enjoy my time. The change in Kelly is awesome, also the shenanigans of the old house are very entertaining. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next installment in this series.

Very interesting premise, but with very little follow through. I stopped at 75% when I realized I didn't care. They were having sex for no reason other than it was plotted. No chemistry, no emotion, she's just a witch who has random sex whenever she gets an itch. I kinda feel sorry for the guy.
