I really Enjoyed this book!
I really enjoyed this read. Amber has such a descriptive writing style, at least in my opinion, I could picture each and every detail as it was happening and feel everything that Maya was feeling; it pretty much sucked me in! Maya and Juan’s love story is unique within the setting of a future /dystopian world, but their feelings and some of the obstacles that come up in their relationship can be easily placed in another world. Their relationship is a slow burn 🔥 and full of fireworks at the same time. They make you want to root for them.

    Gosh I really loved this story! I’m not usually one for dystopian romance but this one was really well told. Night perfectly laid out the world the characters were living in as well as beautifully building up the characters. Night’s writing style is one that uses repetition to drive her point home. I liked the stylistic nuance of her writing.
    I felt like Night did such an amazing job with the characters that I was reading about my friends. Maya and Juan start out as enemies of a sort when Maya comes to work in his bar. She’s clearly escaping from something but it’s not fully revealed until later on. Maya falls ill and Juan ends up taking care of her. At this point they begin to realize their feelings for each other. Juan still has a hard time giving in. But when he does…oh I love him!
    Eventually Maya decides she wants to do what she set out to do—make a difference. She does just that with Juan by her side. Eventually things go sideways and Juan’s support of her never wavers!
    An intriguing story about a woman trying to make a difference while trying to make a life at the same time.

    First off, Amber Night is a very good author. Her way with words draws the reader into this dark, dystopian world. 'Within You' is a good read, though being an American and watching our government sink us into dystopia in real time, this hits a little close to home. It was almost depressing for me to read.

    The FMC and MMC are interesting, complex characters who find each other in a romance that is both sweet and sour. Given the environment they're in, and feeling the need to maintain self-preservation, both characters have their guards up and tend not to trust others. This explains the slow-burn aspect of this book.

    This is the first book in this 'Worlds In Ruin' series and I'm going to skip the rest. However, the author does have a nice catalog and her latest work, 'Syncopated Snowflakes' is a nice, heart-warming romance. I'm going to follow her.

    I had never read Amber Night, and wasn’t sure what to expect. The cover was enticing, as well as the description of the book. In Compromised, Night brings details and feeling into the main characters. The story is well-written and flowed well, making it very easy to pick up where I left off. It is a sweet story that brings an interracial couple together, with many steamy scenes, and a good storyline.

    I loved this book! Within You is a dystopian romance, a little different than my normal reads, but it was engaging and I couldn’t put it down.

    I loved the world building. Set in futuristic dystopian London, the author wrote a completely realistic (and realized) world. I loved the main characters and the slow burn of the romance. The side characters were great too.

    What I really thought was well done was the writing itself. Beautiful prose gave way to clear descriptions and imagery. I’m so glad I tried something new!

    Maybe she left the best of her WITHIN YOU!

    First, I’ll start by saying I am not the type who cries while reading (or cry period for that matter) BUT this author had glassy puddles blocking my view of my kindle multiple times!

    That’s a good thing!

    The journey of Maya & Juan felt far from fantasy and very real. While the author was sure to touch many dystopian themes throughout the book, it was really the gritty, heart-tugging journey of Maya & Juan that kept me up late. Hitting my heart strings unexpectantly was Maya’s familial relationship-particular with her mom. It’s as if the author took a page out of my life—it was that real to me.

    Juan got on my nerves! Like really! I loved him! Hated him! And loved him all over again. His character development throughout the story was the most complicated; making him my favorite. Granted, if he would have pulled the little stunt on me as he did with Maya, he would be persona non grata. But Maya, while strong willed, certainly has learned to allow the good within her to shine through the most tumultuous of times.

    And I think that is the moral of the story!

    Job well done!

    I love that feeling of opening a new book and never knowing where the story is going to take you. Well, I just took a trip to dystopian London and its environs and I enjoyed every second of it! Night's writing was quiet, intelligent, and thoughtful and I'm looking forward to reading whatever is next for this author. I highly recommend.

    I was delighted to read Within You! I picked this up and didn't put it down (metaphorically because I read it on my computer) until I finished it, which is saying a lot given every scientist is saying my generation has no attention span.

    Ever-avid for dystopian futures and the stories that lie within, I was absolutely engulfed in the world created in Within You. I haven't read many romance novels but this book may indeed change that.

    If you are one of those people who like to twist their nose at romance novels, I'd strongly suggest you read this and then think again. Amber Night has managed to weave exciting worldbuilding with a love story that will ring some bells in anyone with a heart. It has something for everyone, which is one of the best types of books to have around for me.

    It delivers romance, it delivers dystopia, it delivers love and laughter. And everything sounds better in British English, doesn't it? Even on-page.

    This is book is so different from the two previous stories
    Such an interesting story into the future within a future .
    It follows a story of mayo and juan in difficult and trying times and from different zones .
    I don’t want to give the story line away as it will be in the blurb , I enjoy ambers work so much she writes with a passion and with fabulous characters that you can almost feel them and so touching .
    I’m looking forward to part two .

    The book does a good job of bringing the romance plot to the forefront, whilst still exploring the dystopian setting in the background.

    My favourite thing about this book is that the author does a great job of portraying realistic moments in the scenes - like the way the characters' inherent nature was shown in their interactions rather than told, or even the ending itself which was not tied up neatly, but rather left to the reader's imagination about the possibilities for the future! 💙

    From the start, as we met Maya stepping into The Zone, the narrative surrounds you and you are there with her, discovering this new/old world. Amber transports you to this very plausible, scary future that makes Within You so much more than a romance novel.
    Her characters have so many layers, and have been so skillfuly built that I could hear them talk in my head as I read their words. From Maya and Juan to Rina, Leroy and Beth, you feel like you know them, you can pretty much smell them and know their smiles.
    The chemistry between Maya and Juan is delicious to read, how do they dance around each other, how they give into their passion and how they explore each other, physically and emotionally, had me fanning myself and smiling to myself often.
    She has written a fantastically real love story between two very complicated, very different, and perfectly imperfect souls in a very difficult environment. It's a story of forgiveness, vulnerability, courage, tenderness, strenght and hope.
    It's Amber Night's opera prima and what a way to debut!
