Purchase options and add-ons
A young chief. An escaped demon. A quest for immortality.
The Eurasian Steppe, 3000 BC.
As Perseyus leads his clan across the plains, the mighty wolf god Kolnos appears on the horizon. The death serpent Medohis has escaped from the immortal mountain to bring chaos to the world and of all the men of the clans only Perseyus has strength enough to defeat her.
For Perseyus is godborn. Born to a mortal mother, his father is the lord of the gods. But now Perseyus must sacrifice everything he has fought for and journey south across the plains to the mountain lair of the serpent demon. Standing in his way are treacherous clan chiefs, wealthy lords of the settled peoples, and the corrupted acolytes of the serpent demon.
Will Perseyus merely walk the path of men or will he fulfil his destiny as one who is godborn and choose to walk the path of the gods?
This novella takes place in the world of the new mythological fantasy series Gods of Bronze from the bestselling author of the Immortal Knight Chronicles.
Gods of Bronze explores the world of the 3rd millennium BC where gods and demons battle for power over the peoples of early bronze age Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
GODS OF BRONZE is a prequel series to THE IMMORTAL KNIGHT CHRONICLES featuring the character known in that series as the Ancient One. Both series stand alone and it is not necessary to read both but they share the same universe and if you enjoy one then you will no doubt enjoy the other.- Print length134 pages

About the author

I write action-packed sci-fi and historical fantasy. I want to immerse readers in another time and place and for my stories to be gripping adventures. You should love my complex heroes and hate the twisted bad guys.
If you like the sound of that then check out; GODS OF BRONZE (my new historical fantasy series), THE IMMORTAL KNIGHT CHRONICLES (bestselling historical fantasy) and the GALACTIC ARENA series (smart military scifi).

- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2023TL/DR: It’s not high literature but it’s a fun engaging quick read with a great concept. The historical accuracy is what sells the book as a great work. Virtually no one else is writing fiction about the Bronze Age to this degree of historicity so that makes it a 5 star for me.
I’ve been an avid follower of Dan Davis’ youtube videos about the Bronze Age, mythology, and related archaeological topics. He is a great commentator with a good voice and very knowledgeable about the subject matter. So I was interested in picking up his books to see fiction written about the time period and his take on its mythology. This book truly delivers. It is a very easy read with approachable language. It hooks you in, tells a great story, and sets you up for the rest of the series. The historical accuracy and level of research are evident on the page. The details of battles are explicit, visual, and deadly. And the villains are intriguing. The book leaves you wanting to read it again and wanting to experience more of that world.
If I wanted to critique the book fairly I would say the only downside is that there is not much of a character arc. The main character is a badass and stays a badass with little internal conflict (there is a small conflict towards the end that I won’t spoil). Moreover there are some inaccuracies when the Wolf god speaks to the hero and then is suddenly speaking to a group of people, probably an editing error. But overall the biggest let down is the fact that this is a novella and not a full fledged novel. The transitions from one location or scene to the next are very quick and the descriptions of the setting and the characters could be fleshed out more. But I think that is good, the book is a prequel to the Godborn series not its own standalone work so it works in this case it hooks you in a makes you want to read more. I am excited to read the rest of the series and see where he takes Godborn what settings he explores and what characters he develops.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre
The premise of the book is interesting, in that it attempts to trace the origin of the Perseus story, placing it in the early Indo-European period. Unfortunately, the writing is lackluster, and could be summarized in a page or two. Although only $9.99, even this was more than the novella is worth.

4.0 out of 5 stars I shall certainly buy the others in the series.
A good retelling of a Greek myth set an age before Greece, Summer etc exist. The story combines men, gods, demons but despite the series being called Gods of Bronze almost all the tools and weapons are made of stone or to a lesser extent copper. A bit on the short side at 135 pages, but I enjoyed it and shall certainly buy the others in the series.
