4.7 out of 5 stars 99 ratings

War is here. Fate wants blood, and only Katalina can stop it.

Nearly a year has passed since Katalina learned her true identity and mated with Dark Shadow alpha, Bass Evernight. She ignited the fire for change, but hatred doesn’t disappear with hope, and if the wolves of Dark Shadow and River Run want their hearts to remain whole, they’re going to have to fight for their new dawn of peace and love.

As war arrives at their door, love finds a way to spark within the darkness. Babies are born, mates are found, and a little orphaned boy finds his voice again.

The end is
here. Lives will be lost, and one way or another, fate will have its blood.

What Readers are Saying...
The author has fully captured my imagination and transported me wholly into their beautiful world... A great series which I highly recommend, a definite must for all shifter fans. ~ Goodreads reviewer

This is a ridiculously good book to end an awesome series. I absolutely loved it... Five stars aren’t enough but apparently it’s the highest I can give, so five stars to this one.
~ Andrea

From the moment I started reading, I was hooked - to the final chapter, I really did't want it to end. The story brings one of my favourite series to a thrilling conclusion. I laughed, Cried, my heart was seriously on a rollercoaster of emotions and I shook my fist at the author a number of times. But in the end I have to say - Bravo! An Exceptional Five Star read. ~ Katsindiebookblog

A new, potential couple's tale is explored... amidst the wrap-up to a werewolf saga
4 out of 5 stars
A new, potential couple's tale is explored... amidst the wrap-up to a werewolf saga
This is Book 6 (and the finale) of the New Dawn young-adult fictional series that described an uneasy union between a pair of clans -- comprised of "shifters" (werewolves, essentially) -- in the forests of the current-day northeastern U.S. The prior books described both packs as long prepping for an attack by an enemy faction. In this novel, a premonition forebode a bloody result... which turned out much more literal than I had expected. I have a hunch that certain readers may end up resenting a specific death here; however, as hard as I took it, I did not deem it gratuitous, but rather fitting to the story. Incidentally, I did find the fate of a newcomer so sad, which may indicate my emotional investment in the entire arc. Additionally, I loved how a threat to the protagonist Kat in Book 1, had by now become an ally and intimate confidant -- bringing that subplot full circle. My main critique of this book, which applies to the series overall, was a need for further proofreading for a polish. I was surprised Book 6 found room to prioritize yet another possible courtship, as each of the previous novels had. Final note: Almost exactly two years ago, when a client at my workplace brought the series to my attention, I could not have fathomed I would be led to an epic's conclusion that, while bittersweet, has left me content.

What an epic conclusion to a heart wrenching series! This has been five books in the making to get to this ending, but man was it so well done! Everything was wrapped up perfectly and I really could not ask for anything more from this series. Keep in mind that The New Dawn books should be read in order, so even though each book featured it's own couple falling in love, the underlying plot and overall conflict was the same. Do your self a favor and start with the first book, Winter Wolf and fall in love with Katalina and Bass and the romance that triggered it all. This review will be quick since I don't want to spoil anything and I just feel like this is something to be experienced instead of being told about.

That being said, I actually thought this was going to be told from Bass and Katalina's view points, but instead, a new couple Eva and John were introduced. Eva was a human dealing with loss and heartache and John was the strong stoic wolf who was more animal than man. I liked watching the two very different personalities come together, seeing John know the truth about his feelings but tiptoe around Eva so he doesn't scare her off and Eva learn to cope with her overwhelming feelings, both good and bad. I loved their relationship, but I was sad that this was not really a true Bass and Katalina story. This was a nice reunion overall though with all the characters from the previous books showing up to play a part in the war. There were a lot of different narrators to help make this a well rounded story and I loved seeing everyone again.

I really love all things werewolf and wolfy mating bonds and this series is the perfect paranormal romance series, full of romance and love, as well as action, suspense and hard choices.

    Told in multiple POV
John and eve's story but also others POV of things leading up to, during, and after the war.
So good when it's good. Pulls at the heart strings when its heavy and sad. But slow and drawn out with info from dif pov that add little.
    Spoilers
Was a bit drawn out when it came to the war. All the talking about it made me want it to just happen already.
Part of what I love about dominant wolves is them knowing what they want. John was a strong character. He knew eva was his mate and was willing to wait for her to get there. But eva was a typical, any other romance h. She was scared, couldnt make up her mind and a runner. She didn't trust what she wanted and even when she did give into one thing then she would hold back and second guess other things.
I get it, its a book, a author takes liberties. But this is the 1st one on the series that I've had an issues with things being not plausible or ridiculous just for the fact of the story. When noah was driving kat mia was running along the road in the woods, with all that's going on I know there was always extra security like this, so where did it all go when kat, noah and her family were under attack and being taken? Seems like at least mia should have been able to get there in a reasonable amount of time. When her and her family are 1st taken she hears someone and jumps them when they walk in but why didnt she kill him? Because of course since she didnt he pulls a gun and she has to let raven go. And castor keeps using guns. While I know its not their thing It wouldn't it have been a good idea to have a few? So that things are a little more evenly matched? And when the war starts why doesnt someone take a gun off one of castors men and try to take out raven to save kat? Why does kat never switch to wolf? She was trying to get out of being tied up, I imagine a wolf arm would have been smaller and could get out.

While things bugged me I still loved the book and the whole series.

This series was amazing. Drawing me in till it’s way past my time to go to sleep or just sitting and reading chapter after chapter for hours. This would be great if turned into a show or movie series. I hope there is more in the future. I would love to see Eva home her skills and Marty with Nicos baby growing up together. Even see if Kat and Bass have children of their own.

This book series had me engaged from the beggining to the end! I personally would have loved to go more in depth on Holly and Noah's reationship, but the book was wonderful.

All of the books in the series captivated me, but this one was execptionally sad, heartbreaking and by far my favorite in the series. Dont waste your time reading this review, go read this wonderful book!
