Wrangling A Groom: A marriage pact romance (Marital Bliss Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 602 ratings

Can two men keep a childhood promise for marital bliss?

Wyatt is overwhelmed after his grandfather dies, leaving him to take over the cattle ranch. The Triple J is floundering, vandals are targeting him, and his first and only love is finally within reach--and still holding a grudge. Wyatt has wanted to marry Diego since they made a childhood pact, but Diego isn't back for their second chance.

When a funeral calls Diego back to Texas, he comes face-to-face with the cowboy who broke his heart. Resentment has burned inside him for years, but his anger wavers as he realizes just how much Wyatt is struggling to keep his head above water. The man he once loved is lonely and burdened, and Diego feels compelled to help him rediscover the strong, capable rancher he knows him to be.

Hostility gives way to passion, then friendship as they fall into a rhythm of work and sex. Wyatt has renewed hope he might wrangle the man he wants to be his groom. But Diego has a life waiting for him one thousand miles away, and love may not be enough to prevent history from repeating itself.

Wrangling a Groom is Book 2 of the Marital Bliss series, but it can be read as a standalone. It's approximately 85,000 words.

Second book in the Bliss series, a complete venue change. Here, Diego returns from Florida to the Texas ranch he grew up on, and Wyatt, the new ranch owner, former best bud/lover. A long a convoluted tale including many day-to-day events, as well as expanding a new business, the link to the Maine first book. Flaming hot passion, almost brutal at times, crop up over the 6 weeks that bracket the novel. An intense read.

Its hard to remember in the Country pushing equality its not open & free in all places. Wyatt a Texan Country Cowboy that is struggling to get his family legacy back in the black. Diego a country boy that was on his own and landed in Miami. Just have to say an emotional roller coaster. You will be addicted page to page ready to know will they work through these obstacles or is it not to be. You fall for the characters and feel invested in the outcome. V3S2 M/M Romance. More reviews & authors to introduce you too & by all means share your favorites too! @my2centsbooklover Thank you!

I loved the beginning of this book. It was so dang adorable!! This story was definitely very emotional. Nothing is ever black and white. Our world is full of gray, especially when different relationships and feelings get involved. This was a lovely, real feeling, friends to lovers tale. Both Wyatt and Diego made mistakes. Their reunion was very trying, but the ending was perfect. I am hoping this author continues, because I would love to see Matias' recovery. I'm also curious about TJ and Colby, because I see some potential there.

Book 1 introduces us to Diego as a loyal friend to Julien at the club they work in Miami. As with most of DJ's series, the side characters usually get their own books and the main characters from other books continue to grace us. Diego was in Miami for almost the same reason as Julien, broken by a love gone wrong. In this case it's Wyatt that hurts Diego. As we find out, it was not a one sided hurt. Lucky for us, they find their ways back to each other and the world is right again.

Diego and Wyatt had made a pact, at the age of six, to get married when they were twenty-five. They sealed the pact in blood from a nail. By nineteen they were over and Diego abruptly left for Miami, leaving a heartbroken Wyatt.

Six years later, Diego was back for a funeral. Diego was full of resentment but Wyatt was still in love. Wyatt was going to have to work hard to wrangle his groom.

Wyatt, as Diego noted, wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to love. Otherwise, he's the stoic rancher who bottles it up inside. Problem is there's only one person he's ever loved. Diego is more reactive. He makes immediate decisions and expects people to accede to his wishes immediately. Wyatt couldn’t offer that when they were nineteen but maybe they'd both changed.

Diego is an idiot because he was unwilling to examine anything from Wyatt's side. Even when he started to see the past differently, he still didn't acknowledge it to Wyatt. Diego's father even called him out on it. Eventually they were doing the friends with benefits things with Diego making it clear he'd soon be going back to Miami. Might have been okay if Wyatt hadn't said he loved Diego. The words weren't reciprocated. At this point, Diego continues with the sex and seems okay with tearing out Wyatt's heart again. Wyatt was willing to take the risk but Diego was pretty callous about Wyatt's feelings.

Of course it worked out. Diego wasn't in Miami very long at all before he realized what an idiot he'd been. In the end, he did everything right and it made both of them happy.

One thing I got from reading this book is that Wyatt has always been in love with Diego, but I don’t see it being returned 100%. I feel like Diego had moved on from his childhood love, but ended up together just out of convenience and too much history. I know in the end he did this grand gesture, but I still don’t feel his love for Wyatt as all consuming. I would have rather them just dating and getting to know one another as long as it took them to get back to what they were 6 years ago. However, this book is still a fun read.

This book was a total hit for me. I loved seeing how the two MCs worked through their shared past together. They were each starting from a different place in terms of dealing with what broke them apart, and that led to both some angst and some hot makeup moments as they worked through their issues. I also loved the depth of the world building. Life on the ranch was interesting and well described. And the plot was rich with subplots without feeling over burdened in anyway. This whole series has been a winner so far! I highly recommend this book!

This story was romantic all the way from when the 2 MCs Wyatt and Diego pledge to marry when they were 6 years of age. A rift occurs in their teens when Wyatt is not prepared to come out and Diego takes off from the Texas Ranch to live in Miami.

Diego comes back for a funeral and sees that the ranch is in need of help and stays on for a while. Rekindled attraction follows and Wyatt is keen for Diego to stay.

I thought there was a weakness in the story where Diego appears to be coming round to staying but doesn't!

Of course there is a happy ever after, though.

A lot of tension and unresolved feelings between Wyatt and Diego that causes ups and downs as everything is slowly untangled and their renewed passion becomes a revived loved and ends with a sweetly satisfying HEA.
Along with mixed emotions and intense steamy sexy times, they also have to deal with vandalism, family feuds, and plans for refurbishment and branching out to new venues to sustain the ranch.
Wyatt and Diego are fully developed characters who definitely have a deep connection and the storyline is interesting but overall it dragged out too long and needs some minor editing.
