As she starts remembering fragments from that night, she realizes more than just her life had been in danger--an unspeakable evil has tethered children to the inside of a trailer. Learning secret truths about her past, Madison is determined to track down the traveling carnival. Time is of the essence and sacrifices will have to made if she wants to save the stolen children.
Her new found strength and abilities make her a perfect fit for a nightbreed of deadly and unlikely heroes. If she joins The Nightbreed will she find answers to her mounting questions? More importantly, will she find purpose for the creature she’s become?

Vampires aren't usually my favorite read but I'm starting to get hooked on them more and more. Phillip Tomasso has been one of my favorite authors. I love his Vaccination series so naturally I had to check out Young Blood: Nightbreed. It may be a Young Adult book but I enjoyed it a lot. The vampires aren't mindless creatures, doing nothing but killing. This book has a great plot to it which will keep on to a great saga. I look forward to book 2. And I think his son is off to a great start in writing and I look forward to reading more of his as well.

I love paranormal and Phillip do not disappoint me. Though different then what I read, I enjoyed the adventures of what a young teen, Madison, went through. Being a teen one day and savior of the world as we know it, was one whirwind story. You won’t go wrong with this book as I’m interested in reading the rest of the series.

I'm a devote Catholic Christian and when I began to read Young Blood, which begins with the betrayal of Judas, I didn't know where this book would take me.

Needless to say, I was brought back to the present time and, I was totally surprised with the vampire twist that the authors, Phillip Tomasso2, put into play. I've seen many movies and read many books over the years concerning Vamps, and Young Blood captured my full interest. I loved the heroine, Madison and her friend Neal. Madison does turn into a vampire,(not a spoiler, I hope) but a vampire of a different caliber. Valiant and to preserve and save life rather than claim it, except for...I can't say...You'll have to read the book!

I never like to give spoilers but the mention of Jesus and the last supper blew me away...Good One, Phillip!!

Young Blood: The Nightbreed Saga left me wanting...more...

I just finished this book by Philip Tomasso and it was an excellent read. I really loved the characters especially Madison and Neal. The story line was fantastic and I couldn't stop reading it until I finished, like in one day. If you enjoy vampire stories than this book is a must read. This is book one so I must find book two!

Awesome book! Tomasso keeps readers on their toes with his unpredictability. His foreshadowing is great, and biblical references make the storyline more realistic. The climatic ending keeps readers wanting more! Can't wait to read the sequel!

So I understand this a collaboration between Father and Son, I have read one other book (zombie based) and I was unimpressed with the editing, continuity and flow of that book so did not seek out any further books. However this was suggested to me and I have read the other (5*) reviews and thought “wow”!

So, this story starts out with Judas wondering around with an inner dialogue of all that has happened at the Last Supper and how he feels about it, this felt a little over dramatic to me, but I’m harsh, especially as I had not built up any relationship with this character (as this is a fictional book, with a “fictional” character the author is entitled to write him any way he feels, so I was expecting more).

When the book then jumped to modern day with no obvious link (until much later in the story) I was a bit confused. However, Madison is an instantly likeable girl who has parent trouble at home, serious stuff not just teenage angst, but she does have super friends.

These relationships are well put across by PT and I was starting to enjoy the over descriptive style of writing from them although occasionally it felt strained or bulky.

When Madison is found half dead on her lawn after a night out at the carnival it seemed fairly obvious to me what was happening to her, so think PT could have made this less “surprising”, especially in a modern day uber social media/twinkly vampire setting, but I did find the journey interesting.

I loved the friendships and family love clearly shown and well explored but this was tempered by the odd silly tense change or missing word which made for irritating reading.

After a major turning point when two new people come into her now changed life, Madison goes on some Nancy Drew Mystery hunt with help of her friend, which was partly comical, which if how it was intended, it worked really well.

The two new family members gave such a brief and stilted explanation of the “greater” story line that I was left a little boggled as to why Madison so quickly accepts all the fantastical things she is told. This section could really have done with a better read through to pick up the missing parts, extend it and give much more back story to hook the reader.

The basic premise of the story is brilliant and most of it is engaging but I think it could be so much better, hopefully as this is the first in the series it will gain momentum and be a bit more fleshed out. PT (both of them!) certainly have the ideas and skill for such a complex story line, I just think they need a bit more polish and delivery.

I am intrigued enough to want to read the next in the series I just hope it has a better editor and the beta readers are harsher with their comments to the authors, to push them not berate them.

This fast paced vampire tale will sweep you up and carry you along from the beginning to the end. This take on an all familiar genre is unique. Story line and characters are well developed and I'm looking forward to reading the continuing story.

Although I'm not a fan of the horror genre, I found book to be more suspenseful than horror. This was a difficult book for me to put down. I was surprised at the end, which made me cry. I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in the series
