Because You Came Back: A Baytown Boys Coming Out Male/Male Romance Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 362 ratings

Who's that handsome stud behind the wheel?
Fancy seeing such a sight in this small town.

It's just another service call until I see that the broken-down car on the side of the road is a luxury BMW, which is out of place here in Baytown. And then I about faint when I see that the delicious-looking man inside it is Ashton Falls, my old high school classmate, and the object of my obsession ever since.

Back then, I wanted him bad, but never let on. I was the popular football jock, and he was the nerd who tutored me. I had a reputation to uphold, which included staying closeted.

After graduation, Ashton moved away and became a Silicon Valley tech billionaire. He's back in Baytown for our ten-year high school reunion. Meanwhile, I stayed here to take care of my mom, and opened a mechanic's shop. And I'm still in that damn closet, because there's a stigma around these parts against gay men.

Our worlds are about as night and day as they could get. But soon they collide with a night of passion in which I discover that Ashton is as attracted to me as I was to him, and that he always has been.

He can teach me more than just math now, and he's as athletic in the bedroom as I was on the field. I want him to stay with me, and
in me, for good.

But will both of us be willing and able to change our lives enough for that to happen? And, first things first, after hiding my true identity from fellow Baytown residents for my entire life, will I have the courage to show up at our high school reunion with Ashton on my arm?

Because You Came Back is a full-length standalone coming out, small town, second chance, rags to riches, opposites attract, billionaire/blue collar gay romance novel that combines humor, heat and heart. It has no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a very happy after ever.

It's in the
Baytown Boys series and can be read alone but, due to related characters and setting, it's best read with others in the series... and a tall glass of water to cool you off after so much steam.

Ashton is a billionaire who has returned to his hometown for his ten year reunion. His car has decided to break down as soon as he arrived so he brings it to the mechanics shop in town where he finds Levi, the boy from high school who he secretly had a major crush on years ago... He was a closeted gay man in High school and Levi was a closeted bisexual. Now the two of them are both open about their true selves. Ashton asks him to go with him to the reunion and Levi agrees. All sorts of fun soon ensues. Will they be able to make things work out or will trouble be brewing in the firm of an angry ex? I read this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

Nice story! About two really great guys that were always meant to be!
Ashton and Levi r former high school colleagues that reconnect 10 years later!
Thanks to their high school reunion, Ashton comes back to his small hometown!
And who’s there to rescue him when he gets some car trouble?! Levi!!!
They start a really cute “dance” around each other and find out they really want the same thing!
    And since forever....!
I enjoyed the book, even with the little incongruences I found in it...
Nothing major....just a few little nuisances, for me!
I didn’t really like that the fact Ashton is rich came up so many times in Levi’s inner thoughts...
I found it weird that such a small town had so many gay men...not impossible, but...
All in all a good story!!! I recommend it!!!

While I thoroughly enjoyed both Ashton and Levi's characters, this story just fell a little flat for me. We have Ashton, an incredibly successful app creator who comes back to his hometown for his 10 year high school reunion. Back in high school he was considered a nerd, whom everyone assumed was gay (thanks to the rumors started by a certain mean girl). Then we have Levi who owns and runs an auto-mechanic shop. He used to get tutoring from Ashton. Both of them were keeping a secret from the other: they were both insanely attracted to each other.
When the men meet back up, they have to maneuver through a few different obstacles, including the feelings they have for each other, coming out to their small town and that same mean girl who not only hasn't changed her evil ways, but is even worse now.
While I wanted to enjoy this book more, and feel like I really could have, there were parts that seemed too far fetched. This in no way was a bad book! But it just could have been more.

Falling in love with someone that lives in your hometown which is 6 hours away from where you live and work, has got to be some hardship and extremely difficult for both parties. Also fighting homophobia makes it more difficult. The case of Ashton and Levi is exactly like that in this book. The way they solve it is what this book is about, plus the fact that a crazy female is out to get them. Why? You have to read this great book to find out, and I highly recommend that you do.

I really liked the story. Kaylee escaping jail was just stupid. Unnecessary and only gave the author a couple extra paragraphs at best. I felt like a couple sex scenes were just because the author felt they were necessary. When in fact, the story stood well on its own merits.

Coming back home Ashton has to prepare himself for the memories his school reunion will bring, having been classed as a nerd the now millionaire is back. Levi the school jock has changed but the air of them are drawn together again. A beautiful love story which grows through out the book. The author really brings the characters alive and you get sucked in to their lives. Happy endings and the promise of an ever after

Even the drama that comes in Ashton and Levi's story, it couldn't take away from the sweetness of true love coming to life. After being separated for ten years, feelings that were repressed find their way back between these two guys. After planning to attend their ten year high school reunion they find themselves together and their true feelings can no longer be hidden.

This was a nice sweet story with a bit of crazy drama in it. There were a few things I did not like about the story, but overall it was not bad.

This is a new series by Ian Finn and I enjoyed it. I’m glad that it wasn’t All sweet and sappy that there was a bit of drama to liven things up. Like Ashton’s kidnapping and at the end where things could have turned ugly. The story does touch on homophobic beliefs and the trauma that comes from what can be a small incident. Overall I loved the book and am looking forward to the next story.

I loved this book two people learning to let go of their fears not just to be together but more importantly to be their selfs and happy with who they are.

It would have been five stars but the was a few instance a where I had to read read sentence because of a name mix up like for instance Aston name being out instead of Levi that being said I'm continuing with the series.
