Because You Loved Me: A Baytown Boys Valentine's Day Male/Male Romance Kindle Edition
That pretty much sums up my relationship motto. I'm a busy air marshal with no time for love. Plus, I don't do commitment, just hook ups. I like to dominate men in bed and then fly off around the world to my next conquest.
Until one day I'm on a flight that experiences a viral outbreak. The flight attendant, Miles, is so damn hot while we work together to rescue passengers. If we make it out alive, I think we should get together.
But just a for a f*ck. I never do more than that. So why can't I stop thinking about him?
Did I get hit with a different kind of bug on the plane... one that makes me fall hopelessly in love with a handsome, sweet, loyal guy?
After I upset Miles due to my inability to trust anyone and he won't talk to me, I find myself flying to what seems like the ends of the earth— his small hometown of Baytown, where he went for a wedding and to meet up with his high school friends— to make things right.
The whole way there, I keep wondering whether he'll be able to forgive me so that I can get back in his pants. Or is he already in my heart and head so much that this will change everything?
He's making me reconsider how I normally do things. But I can't let him know the secrets from my past that have haunted my relationship decisions.
This is nothing that serious, right?
Or is love still in the air?
Because You Loved Me is standalone Book 3 in the steamy male/male romance series Baytown Boys. It has no cheating, no cliffhangers and a very happily ever after. It can be read alone but, due to related characters and settings, it's best read with others in the series... and a tall glass of water to cool you off after so much steam.

"This is a truly wonderful MM romance & a pleasure to read. The plot is well-written & entertaining with quirky characters that have individual personalities with realistic emotional flaws, there are some character crossovers from previous books in this series but this book is standalone & complete. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this MM romance & would recommend it to people who enjoy reading this genre." -Patricia Hoffstaetter
"Great romance read. If this doesn't get you in the mood for Valentine's day, you don't have a pulse. Sensual, toe curling read! This read has it all, and I'm going to have to reread it and savor it this time through. Sooo good!" -B.McGrath

- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2019Another 5-star review for Ian Finn's Baytown Boys series. Miles is from Baytown and has been a flight attendant for 10 years now. On a return flight from Dubai, he catches sight of a gorgeous man who turns out to be the air marshal and gay! From the looks he's giving Miles, Kade seems just as interested in Miles. This flight is quarantined which gives them some time to get to know each other a little bit. This is a story of two men who are very interested in each other but have been horribly hurt, taken advantage of, and emotionally abused In the past. Ian takes on the trip with these men as they learn to trust each other and take a chance on love Again. there is an hea and no cliffhanger. Great job Ian.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2019Air Marshall Kade isn’t looking for love, he’s looking for a fun night and he wants it with the cute flight attendant he sees as soon as he boards that flight to NY. Miles doesn’t think he’s looking for love, or even a relationship, but he can’t stop staring at the hot air Marshall even though he doesn’t even know if he’s gay.
A passenger who can’t stop coughing causes concern that turns into a diverted plane and an entire plane full of frustrated quarantined passengers. However, this gives Kade and Miles the chance to get to know each other a bit. Once they’re cleared to leave the plane they go together to a hotel after hours and hours of building sexual tension. However, Kade breaks his own rule and asks Miles for his number.
Their romance is slow in one regard - they don’t get a lot of time together due to always being in the air - but fast as well since their feelings develop quicker than you would think. However, Kade is still afraid to put himself out there and really find love.
I can’t say much more than that, other than the fact that they find their way back to each other once he realizes his fear is keeping him back, because it will ruin the last quarter of the book.
I struggled with the timeline of this book compared to the others. It seems to span more time than the other stories made it seem like. Such as, Miles talking about how he doesn’t know what’s up with his friend Gibs and his bodyguard two years later... but at the end of Xavier’s story they’re all together at Xavier and Colin’s wedding. Which was well before that comment in this book.
If the timeline had been less confusing I would have given at least 4 stars. I truly enjoyed the story and reading about Kade’s journey to move beyond his past.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2019Because You Loved Me: I loved how the story was written. Loved this addition to the Baytown Boys Series. Kade and Miles were wonderful and how they kept each other going while on a difficult flight. I loved the connection that they both had towards each other. They understood each other so well. Loved the challenges that they went through. Great story!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2019I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
This is book 3 in the series, but it does work okay as a stand-alone. The MCs from books 1 and 2 play a part in this story, but the backstory is introduced in a way that gives you enough to know what is going on without being too much.
I thought the story had a decent flow. Though there were times when I wanted to shake my head at how one of the MCs had acted, it was still very much in character for them and so fit the story. Kade had some serious commitment issues (understandable once we got some more backstory). Miles I felt at times was rushing the relationship a bit (he seemed to want to leap past a few relationship steps at one point). They both needed to realize what they really wanted long-term to find their HEA, but the journey certainly had its sweet moments.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2019Miles and Kade met on a flight they were working that was infected by a virus. They worked hard to keep the people that were not infected under control. They liked each other since the moment they saw each other. After everything was over, they began to hookup every time they could. They began to like each other more and more. The book gets really hot after that. There were misunderstandings and plenty of angst. This book is on my read again list. Of course I recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2020I thought this book was wonderful. It was heartwarming and a little heartbreaking when I didn't think that they would stay together but in the end they finally opened up to each other and ended up married and very happy.
