Dead And Dangerous: A Post Apocalyptic Zombie Thriller (Zombie D.O.A. Book 18) Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 3 ratings

“Every day there are more of them and fewer of us. This doesn’t end well for the human race.”

It started with the mysterious radio broadcasts, strange clicking sounds that meant nothing and yet seemed to be more than just random noise. Then, without warning, the zombies disappeared from the streets of El Centro and a stranger rolled into town, sporting a neck wound that would have put any ordinary man in the ground.

Lt. Charlie Collins doesn’t know what to make of these strange turns of events, nor of the disturbing news coming out of Pendleton, news of an imminent civil war. All he knows is that something strange is going on, something big, and in all likelihood, something bad.

Join Charlie, Jojo and Ruby Collins on a action-packed, post-apocalyptic adventure in Book 18 of the Zombie D.O.A. series.

An Interview With The Author

Q - What makes the Zombie D.O.A series so special?

A - A number of things. When I started writing this series, I set out to create the kind of books I enjoy reading. I love post-apocalyptic fiction like Stephen King's "The Stand" and Robert McCammon's "Swan Song" and, of course, "The Walking Dead," so I wanted to create something on the massive scale of those horror classics. However, I wanted the story to work on a smaller scale too, really getting into the hearts and minds of the characters.

Judging by the feedback from readers, the series works on both those levels. Yes, it's scary zombie post apocalyptic fiction, zombie survival fiction, zombie thriller. But it's also about realistic characters who the reader can root for (or despise, as the case may be).

Overall, the Zombie D.O.A. series is fast-paced, kickass and scary. It's a real page turner with plenty of twists and turns that will keep you reading late into the night.

Q - What order should I read the books in?

A - There are 21 books in all and they should be read in the following sequence:

(NB: Each series (1 - 5) is also available as a box set. Buying that way works out about 60% cheaper)

  • Dead Meat (prequel)
  • Dead City
  • Dead On My Feet
  • The Dead Men
  • Dead On Arrival
  • Return to Dead City
  • The Dead Can't Die
  • Among The Dead
  • Dead And Buried
  • Deadly
  • Speak Of The Dead
  • Stone Dead Forever
  • Requiem For The Dead
  • The Dead Shall Rise Again
  • Dead Things
  • Kill The Dead
  • The Dead, The Damned And The Dying
  • The Never Dead
  • Dead And Dangerous
  • We, The Dead
  • Dead Ever After

Q - There are lots of zombie books out there, why should readers give these books a try?

A - Once again, I can only pass on what my loyal readers have said. I was deeply flattered to hear the series described as, "as good as The Walking Dead," "the best zombie series out there," and "impossible to put down." Other readers have commented on the breakneck pace, unique plot twists and unforgettable characters."

All in all, the series is fast paced, scary and, in parts, deeply moving. If you enjoy post apocalyptic fiction told on a massive scale, with larger than life characters and lots of unexpected plot twists, you'll enjoy this...period.

Q - Do readers have to buy the books individually?

One day the world will end. Someone has to tell the story, right?

JJ Zep is a musician and author who describes himself as a vegetarian, horror-and-fantasy-fiction-loving heretic and a citizen of nowhere.

His twisted post-apocalyptic tales will frighten, enthrall and entertain you. They'll creep you out and make you laugh and maybe even get you to shed a tear or two.

You'll find heart-stopping action and gore a plenty, if that's your thing. But you'll also find humanity, heroes and heart. After all, stories (even one's about the end of the world) are ultimately about people.

JJ Zep lives in the south of France with his wife, two dogs and three cats.

Love the book JJ Zepp is Great

Here it is, the latest release from JJ Zep book 18 of the zombie D.O.A. series Dead and Dangerous which follows the ongoing exploits of the Collins clan with Ruby, Jojo and Charlie.

We start the story with Ruby working security at the charmingly named Bucket of Blood who's summoned for a chat with her boss Montague Pipe, after a particular nasty and bloody altercation with one of the patrons, and meets Cyrus Cain with the offer of a job she has no choice but to accept

Jojo in camp Pendleton stuck in the middle of a revolt by the camp residents and General Bob Harrow whose plan to crush the rebellion boarders on the insane.

Charlie at El Centro who is about to meet the ultimate nightmare, a massive horde of zombies led by the now changed John Messenger who has the ability to not only control the zombie army he has amassed, but can think and talk like a human.

The story builds quite nicely from Ruby's bar fight, and she plays a bigger role in this book than the last one, through to the assault at El Centro and again Mr Zepp leaves you with an ending that throws up more questions than answers and leaves you desperate for the next part of the saga, so I'm definitely looking forward to the next release, We, The Dead.
