Zero Rising: Soldier of Light Chronicles Book 3 (A Paranormal Urban Fantasy Novel) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 23 ratings

Saving the souls of the damned has been my job for several years now. I’ve gotten chased by demonic creatures, fallen in love with a not-so-angelic Guardian Angel, and I’ve even danced with the devil.

Yes. You read that right. I’ve literally danced with the devil, which only stirred up more drama I didn’t need.

And to add a little more to this summary for you, (just in case you thought the chaos stopped there) . . . one of the biggest secrets of my life just found his way to my front doorstep. I’ve since questioned everything Hayden and the Guardian Council has ever told me.

I’m tired of rules. I’m tired of lies. I’m tired of secrets. And I’m tired of being scared. I start to push boundaries to unravel every, single lie that the Guardian Council has kept hidden for years… only to find the dark truth about my mother’s murder.

And, as if saving the dead and feeling betrayed isn’t enough, a new enemy has emerged from the Dark Realm – the only one of its kind. The Phantom has been hunting me since the day I was born. And it won’t stop hunting until it finds me.

It’s time I blaze the path as Soldier of Light my own way. No matter what the cost.

There is no turning back.

Ireland Gill is now a best-selling author, and has spent well over a decade preparing the story line for her first Urban Fantasy series: Soldier of Light Chronicles. It was originally created back around 2001 with intent to be a graphic comic book, but instead turned into a full length novel....and just kept growing. Having experienced the sudden loss of her father as a child, Ireland's fascination with the idea of the afterlife grew along with her imagination throughout her adulthood, which further inspired memorable characters whose stories had to be told.

Having been diagnosed with MS on Friday the 13th of September, 2013, Ireland decided she would no longer sit on already-written story. Eleven months later, "Negative Zero" (self-published) is not only the first book of her book series, but also her debut novel which hit Amazon as of August, 2014. The second book, Absolute Zero, was published just one year later. (the rest of the series is on its way! But a REBOOT of the series was necessary. New covers and new blurbs have been created, and the first reboot published in July, 2019.

Both Negative Zero and Absolute Zero were accepted by Library Journal into their curated system and their Self-e Selection. Ireland has since been named a Self-e Ambassador for Library Journal and Biblioboard. She has been a featured author on panels at a few events, including Indie Author Day 2016.

Ireland is a happily-married early bird and nightowl whose further inspiration comes from her husband, three daughters, and lots and lots of music - particularly the band RED. In her free time, she does acrylic painting and plays piano, but especially loves finding new hiking trails with her family.

Oh, and one more thing - she adores llamas, alpacas and gargoyles.

I am so in love with this series. The crap that Evika has to go through is unbelievable! Now she has just found out she has a twin and that it is too dangerous for them to be together because of their fathers mistake. This book was such a mixture of chaos and high emotions. I can not wait for the next book to see what happens

This installment to the incredible series was everything I was hoping for and more!! New characters were brought into play, intriguing back stories for each one so vividly explained and absolutely necessary to the whole story as it’s unfolding. The way the Author dissects each scenario perfectly so you feel as though you’re dropped into each scene is incredible.
The constant struggle between Light & Dark in multiple formats/characters being showcased throughout the entire book made for an exciting journey in the series. Evika continues to learn to cope with her new life role while her life as a whole turns into her own personal rollercoaster that seems unending! The progression of the saga is beyond captivating to the point that you can’t put the book down. Already ready for book 4...what’s is going to happen??!!

Amazing book. It keeps you on your toes wondering what's next. It's so hard to put the book down to go back to real life. I love the characters and all their quirks. I love to see how not only is Ev growing as the Palestine but so is Hayden. I can't wait to see what happens next. I am on pins and needles until the next book(s) come out to see what should be in the winds for them all. What's to happen to get twin, Jaxon? Only time will tell. I strongly suggest to all to like and follow Ireland Gill, she is an amazing author.

Wow....just wow! Zero Rising is AMAZING! Zero Rising picks up right where Absolute Zero left off and we are introduced to a handful of new characters as the stakes are raised in a roller coaster of events and emotions. You will not want to put this book down once you start! I love this series and I can't wait to read Book Four. I just have to know what will happen next!

I didn’t notice this was a 3rd book in a series when I accepted this ARC to read. I was surprised by the events that Evika has to go through and then she finds out she has a twin and that it is too dangerous for them to be together because of their fathers mistake. This book was such a mixture of chaos and high emotions. I was a little lost a time but that is MY fault & not the authors! The characters are well built & the world building is great!

The story continues as one relationship begins and one is in danger if Evika and Hayden can't find trust and love again. I received an ARC copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
