    The Gods of Olympus have shut it down and are now in a biker club. Zeus now known as Z decides he wants to go solo and road trip. In Arizona he meets Roxy and he finds his match. He must reinvent himself if he wants to be with her though. It's a cute romance that kicks off this fun series.

    This is very heavy on the inner monologuing and while sometimes it was very humorous and broken up in ways that was easy to read, it could also be tedious as well. The characters were very interesting and fun to read, I especially liked the way we got to see Z work through his emotions and learn how to be a better man.

    I found it needs some help in the editing department as words and letters are missing so sentences don’t always make sense. It’s not the worst but it could definitely use a once over.

    All in all while I wish there was more character interaction rather than telling us the story, I really enjoyed the book and it has me looking forward to seeing what the other Gods and Goddesses have in store.

    YOU CAN'T FIGHT LIGHTNING is the one book in the multi-author Gods of Thunder MC series. Each book in the series is a stand-alone paranormal romance and has one of the Gods from Mount Olympus finding their true fated mate on Earth.

    This was the first story I have read from Lisa Manifold and I found it utterly charming and delightful. I started this series with the second book because I love Carrie Pulkinen. I have found that there is more of the fun and humorous paranormal romance to be devoured.

    That’s what this story is… fun, humorous, steamy romance, great bantering dialogue, and a sweet story that kept me glued to the book from beginning to (I wish it didn’t have to) end.

    I love the imaginative reworking of the Greek God characters that we all think we already know. Giving them a “mortal” existence – even if they are still immortal – is captivating.

    Zeus, now known as Z, is full of ego with life coming easy to him for eons. Roxy believes herself to be cursed in love. Watching her bloom and him grow was exactly what my romantic heart loves to read.

    First in the Gods of Thunder MC series. Zeus has had enough of humanity ignoring the Gods of Olympus. His reaction have one last huge party on Mount Olympus and then shut the gates and go live on Earth. Along with the other Gods he sets up an MC club and they start their new lives. Getting bored Z decides to go on a road trip. He stops in Bisbee Arizona where he meets Roxy working in a biker bar. Z's reputation with women throughout history is not good and Roxy has a past that haunts her and she is now sworn off dating. Can Z change his reputation and how he treats women enough that he can persuade Roxy to take a chance on him? Will Roxy try to move on from her past romances to risk a future with Z. I really enjoyed this book, the way it was written, the humour and characters within it.

    Roxy has vowed not to get involved with a man again, ever. After two loves have died she has decided she is never going to go down that road again. She just didn't bank on a very determined Zeus doing whatever is necessary (even reading romance novels for guidance) to get her to change her mind.
    An enjoyable read with dood characters, I liked the way it wove some of the other Gods into the story although they didn't play a massive part or impact on the way the story played out. I would recommend this book
