"Funny and Twisted Story" -Amazon Reviewer.

"I can't recommend this story highly enough" -Jeffery X. Martin, author of Hunting Witches.

"KTRH Channel 8 New, coming to you with a breaking report. Just hours ago, workers at Ronald's Burger discovered the body of the store manager in the parking lot adjacent from the building. Warning, the images we are about to show you are extremely graphic and unsuitable for children under the age of eighteen..."

Whit had played it safe all his life, but when the world seems against you, how long can good boys stay good? He was never a drunkard, he never said a bad word to anyone, never gossiped or cut anyone off on the road, he paid his taxes, even called his mom every Sunday, he’d never even had a tattoo before…until one night, the night a mysterious and malicious clown turned everything upside down.

Thomas S. Flowers is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who loves scary movies, BBQ, and coffee. Ever since reading Remarque’s "All Quiet on the Western Front" and Stephen King’s "Salem’s Lot" he has inspired to write deeply disturbing things that relate to both war and horror, from the paranormal to gory zombie infested worlds, to even dabbling in vampiric historical fiction. Readers can expect to find rich characters, realistic historical settings, and mind-altering horror.

Be sure to check out his PLANET of the DEAD series and The Last Hellfighter, both of which have been best-sellers on Amazon's Top 100 lists for Apocalyptic Fiction and African American Horror respectively.

If you're used to reading the work of Thomas Flowers, which is often well-researched and detail-oriented, hold on to your butt. This is Flowers Unbound. "The Incredible Zilch Von Whitstein" is lean, mean, and filled with high weirdness. Flowers has embraced the novella format and used the limited length to his advantage. It's a shorter story, but that makes it better. This thing moves like a freight train through a compact car full of drunk college kids.
Do you hate clowns? How about wasps? Get ready for nightmare fuel.
I can't recommend this story highly enough.I bulled through it, and I absolutely loved it.
Drop the dime on this one, folks. It's a bullet ready to blow up in your hands.

Thomas S. Flowers has done it again! He has crafted yet another tale that puts you directly into the skin of the main character, where you actually feel like you are within the story itself.

This is a story that you want to read, after having had a really bad day, because I can pretty much assure you that your bad day is not near as bad as Von Whitstein's days. This one is guaranteed to make your day better!

This is my first introduction into Mr. Flowers writing, and I will say: I enjoyed every minute of the story! The only thing I didn't like was the length.

Well, well, well, Zilch von Whitstein is quite the person. In his personal life, he is so normal that I would classify him as having a mundane existence. It does appear that others take extreme advantage of him, however, at his bank job and even at a hamburger joint. Even his boss, Kissinger, does to the point of being overbearing. We all know that type of boss, don't we?

Zilch finds out that he is ill and he really wants to suffer alone. He goes to the MD's by himself, stops calling his Mom, and retreats into booze and TV for his entertainment. Well, mostly that is.....

Things are not always as they appear in life. And, good old Bozo the clown proves that to everyone including good old Zilch.

This is a well written short story and there is nothing I love better than one that packs a punch. Or in this case, more than a punch and more deadly.

    Most highly recommended.

Please note that I obtained this through the Kindle Unlimited Program.

This is a phenomenal book. It isn't long, but I think it's probably the perfect length. Stuck at home all alone at night, looking for something fun and atmospheric to read? This would be a great choice. On the surface, I could see someone having a reaction along the lines of, "oh great, clowns. Like we haven't seen that one before". Still, Flowers manages to take a villain type and a narrative formula and make it into something that feels fresh and different. I can't get into too many details about the story without revealing twists that you would be better off enjoying for yourself so as the book is fairly short, so too will be this review. Definitely give this one a read. It's a perfectly constructed and powerful narrative that is hard hitting and leaves you wishing you could see more to the story. There is nothing wasted and nothing is left wanting. Flowers was firing on all cylinders when he wrote this. Bravo for the effort.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

    "Yuck Yuck Yuck"

The Incredible Zilch Von Whitstein is a short story by Thomas S. Flowers. Zilch, who goes by Whit, is an average Joe that has no excitement in his life, he works an average job, has an average wardrobe, drives an average car and leads an overly boring life....until Whit gets some bad news.

Whit's life and reality are turned in their heads and strange this begin to happen. Are they real? Could they be?

Thomas has developed into a fascinating writer. He has a way of developing characters there are neither over the top nor boring. He creates characters that are everyday people, someone you'd work with or hang out with. He also has the ability to tell a story that is not predictable or mundane. Just when you think you have it figured out, there will be a twist that you don't see coming.

I really enjoy Thomas' books and am always eager to read his work!!
