Pursued: A Small Town Romantic Suspense Kindle Edition
Fairytales tell us monsters are big scary creatures that hide in the shadows. Life isn’t a fairytale, and neither are the monsters. In my story, the evildoer hides behind a screen to torment me.
When his interest escalates from messages to threats, the only way I can stay safe is to leave my life in the city and seek safety in a small mountain town. What I didn’t expect to find in Starlight Ridge is a police officer I’ve met before.
It isn’t the change in Gage Castillo’s appearance alone that has me curious. There is something in his eyes that tells me he too is seeking solace. Unlike me, I don’t think it’s a man after him but a memory.
Having Gage nearby dims the feeling of being pursued. For the first time, I am able to live my life in love and not fear. I am determined to live in my bubble of happiness … so long as my stalker doesn’t find me.

About the author

A romantic at heart, Andrea has always been a storyteller. An avid reader since a young age, she never planned to pen her own romance novel but, on a whim, and with no plan, she discovered her passion. Known for her slow burn small town romances, Andrea prides herself on writing relatable characters that the reader cheers for and secondary characters who bring the sass and laughs to each story.
Settled in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dog, she counts down the days when her adult children come home for a visit. Even if it means more laundry!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2022Sweet, suspenseful, slow burn - Pursued is the story of Sophia & Gage, and how they rescue each other.
I loved this story! And this cover, which makes me swoon every time I look at it! Kudos to the cover designer, A++!
Sophia & Gage meet during a stressful time in her life, and right before he embarks on a stressful time in his. They meet again 3 years later, thanks to a Cupid named Bruce. Altho I'm not sure he was actually trying to play Cupid, he did! The town he sends them to (separately) is exactly what they each need to heal, along with each other, of course!
They become friends, they interact & become friends with ppl in the town, and they fall in love. ; )
There are lots of swoony moments, laughs, and of course the suspense of Sophia's stalker. Great writing & story telling!
: )
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2022I'll be honest, when this started I wasn't sure I was reading romance. The book's first part doesn't include a typical meet-cute you find in romance. In part II the author skips 3 years and then I understood why she gave us part I. Sophia and Gage had to go through a lot to get to their happily ever after. I was rooting for them all the way!

by Andrea Johnston was a haunting mystery romance. I was initially drawn to the cover. I loved their closeness in it.
I’m giving it a 3 ⭐️ because I just found it alright. It felt like it took forever to really start the story. I almost didn’t finish it and at the ending had hoped for more of a story. More stuff to actually take place. I feel like I’m on the minority here but these are my honest thoughts.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2022They say good things come to those who wait. No words could be truer!. I have been a fan of Andrea for a long time. Her slow burn, small town books have always resonated with me. I was finally able to pick up this book and I can honestly say I had a hard time putting it down. Andrea really nailed the romantic suspense genra and I look forward to more books. Im not going to regurgitate the synopsis, because I hate those type of reviews. I will just say this book is phenomenal and you need to purchase or download and add it to your TBR. Fanfreakintastic! 5 stars! I highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2022Having read Ms.Johnston's work many times before i always look so forward to picking up more of her books! As soon as this one was announced i couldn't wait to get into it! I started reading it and got into this story quickly. I enjoyed this story so much!
Sophia and Gage's journey absolutely pulled me in! A situation with a stalker brings these two into each other's lives. As these two are reunited, i couldn't wait to see how everything would play out!
Going into this story i wasn't sure what all to expect and that had me into it even more! I really liked how i got to dig deeper with these two characters. I found myself relating to both Sophia and Gage throughout. The chemistry between these two was undeniable! I loved that their story had me going through many emotions!
With Pursued, Ms.Johnston has created such a good read with feels and suspense you won't want to turn away from! I can't wait for more from her! ❤
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2022An absolutely fabulous read! There was suspense, swooning, tenderness, guilt to overcome, and healing; so many feels, but is was an amazing ride that I would take over and over again. Sophia and Gage were amazing, and their ability to be vulnerable with each other had me falling deeper in love with them.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2022Oh Andrea Johnston, I have SO missed your words and am so glad you are back. Almost two years is way too long to wait!
And back she is, this time with a romantic suspense that I dare say may be her best book to date!
Dual POV - Sophia and Gage. When we meet them, she is a college student who starts being stalked and he is a young police officer who works briefly on her case. But this is just the beginning.
Fast forward a few years and their paths cross again. Sofia's in her mid-20's, still being stalked. Basically living as a recluse due to the gripping fear the stalker instills in her. It has reached the point the stalker is commenting on things that only go on in her home, and a police detective who has been on her case since the beginning sends her away to his small hometown off the grid where he feels she will be safe as they amp up to catch the stalker.
Gage's life has taken a turn as well. After several years working undercover to bust a huge drug ring, he's trying to work through the toll all of that has taken on him. And he also is in the small town at the suggestion of the same detective trying to get his life back on track.
Their romance blooms despite neither of them thinking it is even an option. Watching their walls come down and them begin to trust each other was such a beautiful storyline!
And the stalker part - well, let me just say I read a lot of true crime and thrillers and can often figure things out, but Andrea stumped me on this one and I did NOT figure out who it was until they revealed themself as the stalker! Well done lady! You got me!
And the side characters were amazing. Morgan is the best friend we all need in hard times. The detective and the way he cares for both Sofia and Gage. And Joan the B&B owner - I want that woman to make me a sandwich ASAP!
From the deeply flawed characters who you will love (that Gage - GAH! He will steal your heart!), to the mystery and suspense, to the romance - the entire book was fabulous! WORTH THE WAIT (but please don't make me wait that long again!!).
