Siren blew me away from the first page: I love to read reverse harem romance and I admit that after a few years of reading the genre, while each book has some elements of originality, the stories tend to have a lot of common elements.
Siren is a real breath of fresh air, being completely different than any other reverse harem romance I have read so far.

    I found this to be a very enjoyable read. This author did something with sirens that I have never seen before and I am super excited about the lore building going on in the series so far. There is lots of getting jiggy with it ;) with quite a few ppl. If you like variety, m/m f/m and groups this will be a great way to pass your day. While some of the characters blended together for me (there are a lot of introductions in this book) I def. had my favorites and am looking forward to book two to see what happens next. There is a good balance between plot and the physical intimacies to keep the story moving forward. Cant wait to see how they face the new challenges.

    “Siren” is one of those series-starters where people complain about it being too spicy. This is basically the only reason this was the only series by this author I hadn’t started yet. But somehow I couldn’t imagine I wouldn’t like it, because she became a one-click author for me with all of her other work.

    So: yes, this book is fast burn and very steamy. But it makes complete sense the book is built up that way. It could use a trigger warning at the start though; not because of the amount of spice but because not all of it feels totally consensual. Still, it fits with the storyline and the characters, and even though the first half of the book is mostly steam, the plot slowly develops and eventually leads into a very interesting action-filled storyline.

    One thing I should have never done while reading this book, is thinking around the 92% mark I could sneak in a few pages before starting a meeting. Because right at that moment the plot twist of plot twists came and I was not okay. I’m still not completely okay, but I’m definitely immediately diving into book two! That way I can heal alongside the characters…

    It’s not a terrible book, but I felt like I didn’t know everything, the world building is minimal. We know that Marcus’s dad is the Big Bad in this and we lead up to him attacking and such, but everything happens at a rapid pace. There are so many mates idk who is who or who is the mate and who is a protector. There is the usage of the word “rout” in such a way that even looking up the definition didn’t shed light on what exactly in this context does it mean.

    Our FMC starts out kinda strong being a Siren and can “croon” to control people, but she immediately bangs some wolves and then gets sucked into their pack. Then there’s the goddesses, we didn’t even learn enough about their world to understand their belief system. The goddesses are playing a hand in this but idk exactly what for. Overall I have tons of questions. It isn’t until 90% that a fight breaks out and you have some things happen. Someone dies but the emotional impact was nil due to me not being able to place this person.

    Overall it isn’t terrible, and my curiosity has gotten the best of me that I might read the next one if only to see how it plays out. But I’ve read better books by this author. This might’ve been her first series, idr, but this could use some polish.

    I couldn't finish reading it the gay stuff was random and the mating sex was more like rape. The men don't seem to understand emotions and why she is afraid and hurt by their actions. They take advantage of the fact that she is a siren. Instead of protecting her like Marcus promised he raped her. They don't do anything to comfort her and just cause her problems. Marcus doesn't seem like a Alpha. Catonia is right he is weak and has no self control. It left a bad taste in my mouth and that is a shame because I really like the author's other book about the witches. In that book the men know when they are wrong and try to protect her but they also acknowledge he strength.
