Monica Murphy doesn’t usually do that, so I’ll forgive her this once lol! Monica is a great writer of usually YA and NA books, sports centered. Well written and edited, lots of plot twists, action, dialogue. Ava is the younger Callahan daughter, quiet in school, few friends. She meets Eli at a football camp run by her coach dad the summer before her junior year in hs. Unfortunately, her brother is her hs QB, so she begins her romance with Eli on the dl. Eli can be a jealous and hurtful jerk, but its due to his insecurities from an unloving and neglectful family. He’s not so bad he can’t be loved and forgiven. Ava can also be forgiven for not going public with Eli, even though that’s also hurtful. It makes them both human. I’m looking forward to see how their story progresses in the duet conclusion.

Other then that dig in and enjoy Drew and Fable's youngest daughter Ava story. Ava you feel for her and how she just wants to break free just a little bit from the rest of the Callahans. Ava is a spitfire and has such passion that is brought out by the one and only Eli. You got a little tease of Ava and Eli in Falling for Her, book 2 of The Callahans series. Now it is there time and there side of everything. Eli is cocky and knows what he wants. He feels so deep and there is so much more to him then what we get to see. He is pulled to Ava and you feel how twisted up inside he is over it all. There is such a spark between Ava and Eli that you will love and oh the angst that goes along with it too. Being a teenager is hard enough but add in sworn enemy, rival schools and what your heart wants makes it even harder. Ava and Eli is a love that will just pull your heart so much. I'm dying to find out what is in-stored for Ava and Eli to come. I loved this one so much and could not put it down at all. I need more Callahans like now.

    Honestly just not for me. I love Monica Murphy’s writing but I think the fact that these are literal kids throws me off. The analog of the MMC, for sure gives off teenage boy which I cannot stand as an adult. He also just felt so manipulative and weird. His third interaction with her was sneaking into her cabin at night while her and her family were sleeping which just gave off crazy creepy stalker vibes. overall, the writing is accurate for the characters however, it just wasn’t for me.

    This is an angsty little read. I’m not usually one for an angsty read but I loved this one. It was the characters and their journey that did it for me. This is Eli Bennett and Ava Callahan story. And oh what a story it was. Everyone loves a bad boy and I am in love with Eli Bennett. Yes, he’s loud. Yes, he’s obnoxious, says what he wants and doesn’t care what anyone thinks. But his redeeming quality is how he loves Ava. The things he says to her are down right swoon worthy. Ava is his perfect match. She is outspoken, opinionated and doesn’t take a lot laying down. The things they have in common is they lack a person in their lives that cares and believes in them. They feel lost in the shuffle when it comes to their families. They find this in each other.

    Their journey to becoming a couple is not an easy one. There was so much push and pull with these two at times I felt like I got whiplash. Ava had a lot of choices to make before committing to Eli. For one, he is her brother’s nemesis and two, he is the quarterback for the rival school who likes to talk a big game via social media. Being with him would make her world implode. Their journey is what made this an intriguing story. I had to know how they got from A to B. What were the catalyst that made them letting down their walls. I loved every minute of this book.

    Addicted To Him provides the mature YA star-crossed lovers trope in spades. Ava wants Eli and Eli wants Ava. But Eli is Ava’s brother’s biggest enemy when it comes to high school football. Oh and he’s the QB on her school’s biggest rival’s team. Their relationship is a rollercoaster ride to say the least. At first Ava knows Eli is bad news. Nice to look at, but bad bad news. Eli is pushy and stressed about so many things, but he also has these tender moments that he shares with Ava. These two have a connection, but they just can’t seem to make things work. Angsty to say the very least. Ava is sort of lost in the shadows of her older siblings and her retired professional football playing father. With Eli though she feels like she’s not just known because of them, she’s just Ava, and Eli thinks Ava is special all on her own. Eli’s life is sort of a mess, Which in turn makes him sort of a hot mess. Although he starts things with Ava as a bit of fun, he soon realizes there’s just something about her that he is drawn to.

    I love the angst of young love, and the over the top happenings of high school. If you’re looking for a book like that, with romance and drama, then you will LOVE Addicted to Him. Just gird your loins for the ending people, there’s more to come.

Eli and Ava's brother, Jake, hate each other and so it's not the best idea that Eli and Ava start to fall in love with each other... but... is everything so real as it seems?
    OMG! OMG! OMG! Addicted to Him was sooooo intense and I'm feeling with Ava that much now! She's a wonderful, strong young girl!

    Minus one star for the cliff hanger, it's frustrating. Eli and Ava's story is an interesting read as Eli is his own worst enemy but Ava is being a good influence on him.
