In between crafting scorching sex scenes and helping her men find their soul mate, Rosalind enjoys cooking, collecting toys, and making the best damn scrapbooks in the world (this claim hasn’t been proven, but she’s willing to put good money on it).

She adores MM Romance and the power it has to sweep the reader away into worlds filled with passion, steam, and love. Rosalind also enjoys her collection of plot bunnies, and welcomes new fuzzy ones in her home all the time, so feel free to send any adorable ones her way.

    Always a celebration, even before you open the cover, to begin a new Lavender Shore Book. THE ALCOVE, Rosalind Abel’s newest addition to the Lavender Shores series will not disappoint her legion of readers.
    THE ALCOVE begins with Jasper Getty’s story. Jasper is the adorable ginger haired younger brother of Harrison Getty (THE GLASSHOUSE.) Jasper owns Lavender Pages, the perfect bookstore for a geeky bookworm. Having settled in picturesque Lavender Shores to begin a dream life, sharing books, the easy friendship and camaraderie of a new town, Jasper is happy and content. Perhaps if there was a special someone to share the beauty of the location and lifestyle? But NO! not again. A postcard from an ugly part of Jasper’s past arrives, and his protective big brother insists on hiring a bodyguard to keep Jasper safe.
    Russell Wallace is the visual image of a bodyguard. Strong, intense, attractive, and professional. In many ways the example of masculine perfection. Jasper has a sense that Russell is somehow hauntingly familiar, but he is too attractive and outstanding for Jasper not to have remembered him.
    For Russell keeping Jasper Getty safe would be a professional job, one which he excelled at fulfilling. Although meeting Jasper it seemed as if Harrison was offering Russell his own version of kryptonite on a silver platter. The undeniably gorgeous Jasper sparked Russell’s protective nature and the heat of lust, although he resolutely reminded himself of his obligation to always be professional.
    Never failing her readers, Ms. Abel creates a wealth of interesting, believable, and engaging characters. Treating us again to Lavender Shores favorite residents and giving new snippets of their personalities. THE ALCOVE despite a romantic turn is also a mystery with the constant overtone of dread and watchfulness. On a personal note it is so difficult to pick a favorite Lavender Shores book or best loved characters. Although I think that this time, THE ALCOVE with Jasper and Russell will remain my favorites at least until Book Eight hits my Kindle.

    Another wonderful addition to Lavender Shores! I'm a sucker for a ginger, and when that ginger is a total book nerd, even better!

    This was a great story and has all of the feels. I had no idea how this was going to play out after reading the prologue but it worked. I loved both Russell Jasper. They both gave something of themselves. I was anxiously biting my nails wondering when they would realize they knew each other and it was written beautifully. I especially loved being in Russell's thoughts, it was as if you were witnessing a person who has been in the dark his whole life and coming into the light......granted it was a rainbow light but it was wonderful to see and experience. Not to mention their hot, sexy times. It's always the quiet ones!

    I just love all of the characters in Lavender Shores and after reading this book, I decided to go back to book 1 and begin again. I just can't wait until the next installment. Thanks Rosalind Abel for giving us another wonderful story from this magical place.

    I loved this story!! i enjoyed the touch of fate bring both of these men together when they needed each other, not once but two times. i really loved both of these MC's, they each had characteristics that i found endearing and back stories that hurt my heart. Both men were strong because of what they had endured and they both remade themselves and moved forward in life.

    Jasper and Russell were a fun, likable and engaging couple. You could feel how they fit together and their chemistry fogged up my kindle and my glasses!!

    This story is part of a series but could be read as a stand-alone if you insisted. However i think that it is so much better if you have read the entire series because many of the characters from the previous books are referenced or are a part of this story.

    I tend to not review. I’ll leave stars, but I’m not a fan of discounting a book, but when I really love something I want to say so.

    This book is really and truly beautiful. I felt Russel and Jasper to my core. I honestly need more. I want to know what happened later. Their love, more than most of the other stories so far, made me want a saga. I want a series. I know I’m late to the party but this is a couple I’d kill to read more books about.

    I felt a little bit of a disconnect with the previous book... but this one was really dang special and solidified why I am so invested in this series.

    And the Lucy Lennox addition just sweetens the pot. ;-)

A significant age difference means nothing to these two men who slowly but surely fall into a relationship fraught with danger. Good start, lagging a bit in the middle but an amazing ending.

    An enjoyable read.
    Quite gentle really, not too much drama but some action and a slow build romance between the two lead characters. I liked the stalker storyline and while it was believable it didn't dominate, with the focus remaining on the relationship and romance between the very likeable Russell and Jaspar. They seemed so different in age and experiences but somehow just worked. The ending for me was just right.
