Alien Triton's Prize Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 851 ratings

Reeled into a fake marriage with a merman...

How was I supposed to know my new boss was the owner’s nephew? Now, I’ve been fired for speaking up about his roaming hands. And if that isn’t bad enough, I get home early to find my boyfriend bumping the girl next door!

With nowhere to go, I decide to join the Starlight Lottery. The promise of fresh air and a job on an alien planet where no one knows me sounds just about perfect. I’m ecstatic when I’m accepted immediately.

But when I arrive at Aquaria, it’s not a job as a marine botanist that awaits me, but marriage to a triton! Cetius has a powerful tail and an upper body that puts the best bodybuilder to shame. But there’s a catch.

He doesn’t really want a wife. He just needs me to pretend to make his aging grandsire happy in his last days. After, I can choose between a pampered life under the waves or trying my luck on a small human settlement at the surface.

Too bad not everyone’s happy with the arrangement. Some would rather I end up as sushi for the sharks of this planet. And worst yet, I think I’m falling for my pretend triton mate.

Welcome to the Starlight Brides – where luck is optional, but the hot alien is guaranteed!

Vera and Cetius 💜
I loved this alien story and didn't want it to end! At first, Vera wanted to leave Cetius after their one year was up, but she soon realized they were meant to be. I loved how he protected her even from his evil twin and made sure she had everything. Definitely recommend to all alien lovers.

    📖 Summary:
This was such a fun and lighthearted novella. Very low stakes, just a dash of family drama that resolves quickly. It’s a mail-order-bride program… except Vera thought she was just taking a new job 😅

    📚 Bookish Moments:
Vera and Cetius were a perfect match, and I loved how quickly they clicked. Cetius’s sister was such a girls’ girl — supportive, sweet, and immediately on Team Vera.
Also: I’m still blushing about his triton 😳💦

    🌌 Worldbuilding:
Short and sweet, but surprisingly immersive for a novella!! I loved the underwater cities and all the fun tech — it totally made me want to live in Aquaria.

    💭 Final Thoughts:
This was pure joy from start to finish.
    Vera and Cetius forever 💕
I’m officially obsessed and diving into the rest of the series!

    If you're looking for:

This is the third book I've read in the Starlight brides series and it was a solidly good read. Vera is down on her luck, her job is terrible, her boss is handsy, and when she say no back off she ends up losing her job. To top it all off her boyfriend cheats on her with their neighbor. Done with everything she's joins the starlight lottery, thinking she will be match to a new great job only to fond out its not a job but and marriage . Cetius, doesn't really want a wife he's not read for it, but he's Inheriting the family business and his grandfather wants to see him married and settled down. When he meets Vera she's more than he couldd ever have hope for. He wonders if she was always met to be his. They have an adventure under the sea. With a bit of danger and a hint of smoke when these two realize they belong together more help anyone who will try to tear them a part. Worth reading!💖🔥💖🌟💖🔥🌟🔥🔥💖🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟

I was a little disappointed in this book. I had a hard time accepting the fact that the author put the human in such a position. I know that authors have a vivid imagination and can cause events to take place. I also know that authors put human women in some hard spots when meeting Aliens, but for some reason, I just couldn't adjust to this event

This was a solid 4.5 stars for me and so far is my favorite in the Starlight Brides series! This story had really unique worldbuilding that was fun to explore. I loved the whole concept and reasoning behind the external gills that Cetius had made for Vera. The whole humans living under water concept was just really well thought out! I also loved how sweet the romance was between Cetius and Vera. The spice was a little bit lighter in this one compared to the other Starlight Bride books, but it was still well done. This one has some special Trident shaped equipment in it to spice things up.

There is a little bit of family conflict at the end, but it was wrapped up nicely. The ending felt slightly rushed, but overall this story was well written and enjoyable!

Unknowingly matched to a merman in the alien bride lottery, a human female has the adventure of a lifetime under the sea. Only time will tell if the contract lasts.

It's a sweet and spicy novella, 134 pages of actual story that took me about 2hours to read. Dual alternating 1st POV for MC's, and a HEA.

I loved the underwater world the author created and the cool gadgets they invented. Not to mention the merman's "triton" 🍆 lol.

The only thing that would've made this book better is more of it.

If I had to compare it to a book I've read before I'd say whispers of the deep.

This was a really cute love story! Interesting world the author created, with a strong, sweet, honorable hero and an adorable plucky heroine🥰 I kept waiting for some underwater monster encounters to spice it up, but only got one very short one at the end, lol, but it was still a good story🥰 I loved the ending, it was perfect! I would read other books by this author🥰

5.0 out of 5 stars Underwater Romance!!
Reviewed in Canada on November 24, 2024
This is a new series I have been trying and this book had me hooked from the very beginning. Loved how the way Lynnea wrote the underwater scenes I felt like I was there with the characters and could see it all so clearly. Loved how it had all started out as an obligation to get a bride and after meeting his woman Cetius found himself enthralled with her and putting her needs above his own. He couldn’t stop himself falling for her and the attraction between the two characters where hard to resist. Finding that they both had more in common then they had first believed.
Loved how the characters fell for one another and became close and the surprise twist in the story kept me hook. It is a definite must read.

Fired from her job and cheated on by her boyfriend,
Vera turns to the Starlight Lottery because she is attracted by the prospect of a new job on a planet where no one knows her.

But what if nothing is as it seems?

Because suddenly Vera finds herself in a temporary marriage of convenience.
Can Vera and Cetius make this temporary marriage work?

And will Vera leave when the time is up?

    I absolutely loved the book.

Not only does she manage to captivate you with her exciting writing style so that you simply don't want to put the book down,
but she also manages to make her characters seem so realistic that you can put yourself in their shoes and empathize with their feelings.

therefore I give Alien Triton's Prize 5 out of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and an absolute purchase and reading recommendation
